Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller talks about sentencing, prison time

- Abby Lee Miller, the former host of ‘Dance Moms’ was sentenced to a year-and-a-day in federal prison following her conviction on bankruptcy fraud. Prosecutors said Abby hid $775,000 income from her creditors, and that she illegally brought $120,000 of Australian currency into the US without reporting it.
Abby joined us on Good Day LA to talk about her prison sentence and plans for her life afterwards.

PrettyLittleEdits Xx go look at the pictures pre dance moms of her with chloe and Paige sat on her lap, hugging them smiling like they were her own children or when she took them to the beach and they all came running back to hug Abby. Then lifetime came along and destroyed her life exaggerating her strictness, she always felt bad about making them cry she always used to go and check on them and say 'I don't want to make you cry' lifetime also took advantage of her mom, dad and dog dying.

+Katie2595 I agree. Also, she was strict, but not to the point that I would call it child abuse. It's clear that deep down she cares about those kids and wants the best for them. If the parents really thought she was abusive, why allow their children to be on the show? The parents are the worst. All they want is attention.
So sad that Abby is going to prison even though it's a short sentence and she can leave prison early within a few months into the sentence. But I feel like it's still not fair really she is paying money back and has paid the price with a bit of her reputation good luck Abby will miss you on dance moms.

right!!?? absolutely disgusting to interrupt in itself but even worse was the WAY they kept interrupting her. i could barely watch the interview because of how much they struggled to fight talking over her. i really wanted to hear what she had to say & the fact that they just kept cutting her off only to ask a dumb question in place of the one she was answering was so frustrating. she had great answers to stupid questions & they refused to let her finish. absolute worst interviewers i’ve ever come across. i never leave comments on videos but this was absurd.
I heard a recent story on Jeremy Kyle about a man who sexually assaulted his daughter 36 times, she went to court as an adult with no evidence. He admitted and plead guilty to all 36 charges. He got no time. And that's because the legal system cares about what impacts them. Lawyers all have different opinions and they are heartless, like caught up in the fame thats an opinion

Why does the interview cut off?
I think it's right that she's going to prison and serving time. Cause she made some mistakes and those mistakes have consequences. You commit a crime you go to jail(even though some people don't face the consequences of there actions, which is why our legal system isn't that good). But I also think it wasn't entirely her fault, there's a whole story that we don't know. And hopefully before she goes to jail she can give as much info as she can to bring other people to justice.

You rock and the show is just that show that has a small snap shot of your work and life, so many forget that, sure you may seek amazing & talented performers from the hard work and also to keep your name and legacy sparkling etc. and unless you are the teacher, business owner, creator, mentor to kids then step off and leave it to those whom have the balls to step out and actually do it...
Keep yourself safe, and clear the mind from all the drama... or as I say inhale the goodness exhale the bullshit... teach those fellow inmates how to count... 5, 6, 7, 8 step ball change etc ... and show them a thing or two and leave the place a better one than when you went in, and come out loving of yourself and keep yourself as No. 1 always.. it is Abbey Lee Time now... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🙃💛💜💚💜💖🇦🇺🇦🇺🏳️🌈😉🌎

Yes notice how she said oh I wanted my tv show and dance studio to be separate and I wanted the studio to pay for itself now when you file bankruptcy even 6 months later if a family member was to leave you money or you inherit anything the bankruptcy has a right to take it away so when she said she wanted the studio to pay for itself what she meant was I wanted to file bankruptcy have the studio debt be cleared and the money I am making I can keep well it don't work that way I did the process I know the lawyer and judge made it clear any money you run into in the next 180 days we have a right to take it to pay the creditors back and abbey started the show 4 months after bankruptcy so she must of known now had it been a year or two things would be different

Reality show or not. Abby literally is responsible for destroying young girls lives. I don't know how people can say she's a nice person. Girls are our future. Not a washed up old hag like Abby Lee Miller.
Gina Mascetti Abby didn't ruin the girls lives if anything she made them better and helping them become stars and know because of dance and the producers usually tell her to yell or make drama and it escalates from there yes girls our are future and some girls look up to the girls on dance moms
excuse me? " character?" that was Abby Lee just as she is, the show isn't scripted, the moms have even said that. what we watched for 6 seasons was Abby Lee Miller being her very true self. She isn't an actress. And I honestly believe that this is karma.

A lot of dance moms is actually scripted. Or at least the producers tell people to do certain things in the show to cause drama. That's why there are arguments in almost every episode. Also the Kid's scenes "where they talk I front of the camera" were all up to the producers in season 1.
