I met Abby in 2017 and she agreed to make a Musically with me- she's the sweetest woman! It's hard to know what hell she endured soon after then, but I'm glad to know she's overcoming cancer and walking again :)

yeah but JoJo's the most successful one (although most of them are successful) and she's there for her. Maybe some of the other ones are just too busy. They're all older teenagers or young adults and when I was that age I didn't see that much of my own parents let alone somebody else that wasn't related to me. Doesn't mean that I didn't love them, I was just doing my own thing and trying to figure out life.

After having 3 life saving surgeries in a couple days and being left with a 5 inch scar on my abdomen, I feel that so hard. I also understand her anesthesia fears. I was put under before my husband arrived at the hospital (I was medflighted out and it took him 2 hours to catch up with the medflight) and I worried something might happen and I'd never see him or my kids again. I, too was dismissed when I had something very wrong with me. Took 18 months before I was accidentally diagnosed in the ER and was scheduled for surgery another month out. That was the surgery that almost killed me no thanks to the ER workers that didn't listen to me or take me seriously. When I came back the following day, they knew I wasn't faking, but by then I was vomiting blood and it was a matter of life and death. What she went through isn't easy to overcome, only a strong woman can make it through like her. I'm still grappling with overcoming nearly dying from sepsis after a botched routine surgery, I can't even imagine overcoming what she's been through.
I met her in 2013. As you can tell I’m a huge fan of Abby and the show. She was portrayed as a horrible old woman when in reality that’s WASNT true. And when I met her she was the sweetest person. She greeted me with a huge smile and hug and asked if I’d like to take a picture with her. I didn’t ask her she asked me! She’s got such a big huge heart who dedicates it to the kids who walk through her doors. Abby Lee Miller is a true legend

I feel bad for Abby. She was a tough teacher and that’s what you need. When you get in the real world or do college sports.. it’s not equal or fair. Not everyone gets to be the star and coaches are way tougher than her. The moms on the show enabled the behavior and if it was really abusive, they would have left way before.. not when their daughters were 15.

Exactly. People are too soft nowadays. She told her students the clear truth, even if it hurt at times. She didn't pick favorites, she picked the best dancers to represent her company the best. Why would someone hire the worst fit employees to represent their company? The dance world is very competitive, but I know she loves all the girls like her own children.
There's a big difference between being tough and being abusive, tough is good for children. But if you tell a child things like you are never going to be as good as Maddie, she's a horrible person

You prepare CHILDREN by uplifting them and building their self-confidence, so when they face the real world, they will be able to handle the rejection the comes with working in the industry because they know who they are. You do not however, accuse 8 year olds of sneaking off to make out with boys like she did Chloe, or force young children to go against their own mothers, or make fun of their physical appearance while their bodies are still developing. There's a difference between teaching them about rejection and the understanding that "you don't always win", and verbal abuse!

Their confidence is going to be crushed anyway. (I’m talking about the older mothers)The mothers and abby both had contracts, the mums couldn’t get out of it until they finished filming season 6 and couldn’t do anything about it unless the producers would let them. Abby deliberately talks badly and puts the children down because she knows at the end of the day they can’t do anything about it. She says it’s her teaching method and she’s helping the kids for the future but I guarantee there are MANY many other ways to teach them without having to rip a child apart.
Say what you want about Abby, but I raised both of my boys similar to how she raised her dancers, and my kids are respectful, kind, compassionate, hard working and empathetic. My oldest son graduated high school one year early and got accepted into MIT on a full scholarship, and my youngest is ironically a dancer that would like to get into the industry, and works his tail off. The coddling, and the, “Everyone gets a prize,” tactic only works if you want your kids to live in your basement all of their lives yelling, “Mom, meatloaf!”
Yes, but there’s a clear difference from “tough love” and borderline abuse. Some of Abby’s “critiques” were just full on personal attacks, and considering most of her original dancers from the early series have suffered from trauma, eating disorders and have battled or are still battling low self esteem and depression, there has to be a line drawn.
How does she not know how much the surgery was? After going to prison for smuggling $ and getting charged several counts of fraud.....you’d think she’d have a better eye on her money the correct way with the right intentions. She was so awful to so many children. I’ve had hard coaches. Hard. Strict. Constructive with their criticism, but they never treated us less than, made us feel we weren’t good enough, made us cry, or any of what she did. So happy for the girls who saw through her and left on their own.
I have been in the sleep thing because I have celiac disease but anyway luckily I woke up I got told I had it really easy and I had the operation when I was 8 and it was quite scary to think I would die at 8 ( well not die ) but never wake up! But I am fine now! I am sooo happy but I might have to have it again and it’s worrying me even more because my cousin has what I eat but he’s 17! But he eats gluten!!!

Tearing down kids is her job, for that’s what pays the bills! She is correcting them on their technical basis of body movement in Dance Class at her studio! It is just the same as a legal guardian scolding their own child(ren). It is just one of those things in life about growing up and realizing that we play different roles for people all throughout our lives until we all of a sudden die. Unless we make it pass Retirement and make it all the way in Nursing Home, where each one of us, if fortunate, will make it to our final place?
Everything she said about the guards and her time in a federal camp for women is a lie. Everything. She wastaken off her diabetes meds because she lost a ton of weight. She has told so many conflicting stories about her time there. I know for a fact these are lies.
I never necessarily disagreed with Abbies teaching style. It’s disciplined what I disagreed with was the name calling and putting someone down so low. I don’t agree with tearing someone downtown make them better. Discipline is okay, bullying is not and I believe Abbie a bullying was just for the tv

It's true people think the prisoners are what they should fear and rightfully so but the guards are worst because they can really mess with you. But thankfully Abby is safe and ok and I hope to see her walking soon. It's sad because doctors didn't take her seriously and it cost her to walk again
@Boobie Diaz - we can't know for sure it cost her the ability to walk again, especially given she's working on walking again. Also it depends on the prison or event what section you're in whether the guards are more of a problem than the prisoners. I think people go into prison expecting there'll be trouble with other inmates, while expecting the guards will simply do their job. The prisoners have caused guards to behave like they do and the guards have caused the prisoners to behave as they do. Speaking in very general terms.
C J yes some prisoners do but they took all Abby's stuff out of her locker and dumped soda all over it like why do that to a 50 year old lady who isn't a threat to them and she was in medium security so them prisoners aren't the worst and don't have much time hanging over their heads. But I have heard stories how the guards are ruthless they will hang up the phone on you while your speaking to a loved one like some of them are just plain evil for no reason, and I guess had they caught her cancer sooner she would of still been able to walk and she was on the doctors and they spoke about it. However some doctors and hospitals are like that because same thing happened to my aunt she was getting severe pain in her elbow and up her arm and they said she must of pulled a muscle well she went to a different hospital and they took X-rays and did their job and come to find out she had cancer . She had a tumor growing on her elbow and in her upper shoulder
@@boobierubi8567 first off she was in a camp. Not the prison you all think. They can literally walkout the front door. They are housed in a female camp in a larger complex with 3 male prisons. The female "campers" as they are called are responsible for the landscaping and such. There are no fences. If what she said about the soda were true the guard would be written up. Other guards would have made sure. Second she has stated that the kind of cancer is fast pace and grows in 3 weeks. She was out of prison for a month before the onset of symptoms. She is a liar and takes no responsibility in her wrong doing. Blaming everyone but herself.

@@boobierubi8567 the two meds that they took her off of was no longer needed due to weightloss. The camp she is at is not the normal prison. She stated in one video the poured Cherokee red soda on her stuff. That prison doesn't even carry that in their commissary. You give the guards to much credit. Most of them are there to do their jobs and as long as the inmate does what they are supposed to do there are no issues.
I think there is 2 ways to view EVERYTHING. I say tough love, you say verbally abusive. You say you are nurturing your child, I say you are teaching your kid to be an entitled brat..... and I'm sorry but I think I'm right because look at the majority of kids today. I’m a glaucoma patient and could e had my vision in my right eye salvaged if my doctor had bothered to notice that my eye pressure was above 38. Losing something that you rely on because of incompetence is a very legitimate reason to be bitter. Doctors are trained to notice these things.

You know that she is very concert about her weight right? In around 2014/15 she lost a lot of weight, and when she was in prison she lost 120lbs but she gained it back being on a wheelchair, also the producers of DM didnt really support...

when i was a 4 year old I had the same cancer you had but my doctor caught it early I never realized have bad it could of gotten

I, too was dismissed when I had something very wrong with me. Took 18 months before I was accidentally diagnosed in the ER and was scheduled for surgery another month out. That was the surgery that almost killed me no thanks to the ER workers that didn't listen to me or take me seriously. When I came back the following day, they knew I wasn't faking, but by then I was vomiting blood and it was a matter of life and death. What she went through isn't easy to overcome, only a strong woman can make it through like her. I'm still grappling with overcoming nearly dying from sepsis after a botched routine surgery, I can't even imagine overcoming what she's been through.

I met her in 2013. As you can tell I’m a huge fan of Abby and the show. She was portrayed as a horrible old woman when in reality that’s WASNT true. And when I met her she was the sweetest person. She greeted me with a huge smile and hug and asked if I’d like to take a picture with her. I didn’t ask her she asked me! She’s got such a big huge heart who dedicates it to the kids who walk through her doors. Abby Lee Miller is a true legend

I feel bad for Abby. She was a tough teacher and that’s what you need. When you get in the real world or do college sports.. it’s not equal or fair. Not everyone gets to be the star and coaches are way tougher than her. The moms on the show enabled the behavior and if it was really abusive, they would have left way before.. not when their daughters were 15.

Exactly. People are too soft nowadays. She told her students the clear truth, even if it hurt at times. She didn't pick favorites, she picked the best dancers to represent her company the best. Why would someone hire the worst fit employees to represent their company? The dance world is very competitive, but I know she loves all the girls like her own children.

You do not however, accuse 8 year olds of sneaking off to make out with boys like she did Chloe, or force young children to go against their own mothers, or make fun of their physical appearance while their bodies are still developing. There's a difference between teaching them about rejection and the understanding that "you don't always win", and verbal abuse!

Their confidence is going to be crushed anyway. If those girls really wanted to be professional dancers then only the strong survive. If the CHILDREN couldn't handle it they should have just left. Abby deliberately talks badly and puts the children down because she knows at the end of the day they can’t do anything about it. She says it’s her teaching method and she’s helping the kids for the future but I guarantee there are MANY many other ways to teach them without having to rip a child apart.

Say what you want about Abby, but I raised both of my boys similar to how she raised her dancers, and my kids are respectful, kind, compassionate, hard working and empathetic. My oldest son graduated high school one year early and got accepted into MIT on a full scholarship, and my youngest is ironically a dancer that would like to get into the industry, and works his tail off. The coddling, and the, “Everyone gets a prize,” tactic only works if you want your kids to live in your basement all of their lives yelling, “Mom, meatloaf!”
Yes, but there’s a clear difference from “tough love” and borderline abuse. Some of Abby’s “critiques” were just full on personal attacks, and considering most of her original dancers from the early series have suffered from trauma, eating disorders and have battled or are still battling low self esteem and depression, there has to be a line drawn.

After going to prison for smuggling $ and getting charged several counts of fraud.....you’d think she’d have a better eye on her money the correct way with the right intentions. She was so awful to so many children. I’ve had hard coaches. Hard. Strict. Constructive with their criticism, but they never treated us less than, made us feel we weren’t good enough, made us cry, or any of what she did. So happy for the girls who saw through her and left on their own.

I have been in the sleep thing because I have celiac disease but anyway luckily I woke up I got told I had it really easy and I had the operation when I was 8 and it was quite scary to think I would die at 8 ( well not die ) but never wake up! But I am fine now! I am sooo happy but I might have to have it again and it’s worrying me even more because my cousin has what I eat but he’s 17! But he eats gluten!!!

Oh and also with customs fraud for trying to conceal money made during the _Dance Moms Australia Tour_ masterclasses.
She received a 1-yr-1-day sentence for bankruptcy fraud. As well as 2-yrs of supervised release and 2 fines of $120,000 and $40,000 according to reports. The sentence was cut short, by approx 2-3 months, when they discovered her spinal cancer.

Tearing down kids is her job, for that’s what pays the bills! She is correcting them on their technical basis of body movement in Dance Class at her studio! It is just the same as a legal guardian scolding their own child(ren). It is just one of those things in life about growing up and realizing that we play different roles for people all throughout our lives until we all of a sudden die. Unless we make it pass Retirement and make it all the way in Nursing Home, where each one of us, if fortunate, will make it to our final place?

It's true people think the prisoners are what they should fear and rightfully so but the guards are worst because they can really mess with you. But thankfully Abby is safe and ok and I hope to see her walking soon. It's sad because doctors didn't take her seriously and it cost her to walk again
@Boobie Diaz - we can't know for sure it cost her the ability to walk again, especially given she's working on walking again. Also it depends on the prison or event what section you're in whether the guards are more of a problem than the prisoners. I think people go into prison expecting there'll be trouble with other inmates, while expecting the guards will simply do their job.
The prisoners have caused guards to behave like they do and the guards have caused the prisoners to behave as they do. Speaking in very general terms.
C J yes some prisoners do but they took all Abby's stuff out of her locker and dumped soda all over it like why do that to a 50 year old lady who isn't a threat to them and she was in medium security so them prisoners aren't the worst and don't have much time hanging over their heads. But I have heard stories how the guards are ruthless they will hang up the phone on you while your speaking to a loved one like some of them are just plain evil for no reason, and I guess had they caught her cancer sooner she would of still been able to walk and she was on the doctors and they spoke about it. However some doctors and hospitals are like that because same thing happened to my aunt she was getting severe pain in her elbow and up her arm and they said she must of pulled a muscle well she went to a different hospital and they took X-rays and did their job and come to find out she had cancer . She had a tumor growing on her elbow and in her upper shoulder
@@boobierubi8567 first off she was in a camp. Not the prison you all think. They can literally walkout the front door. They are housed in a female camp in a larger complex with 3 male prisons. The female "campers" as they are called are responsible for the landscaping and such. There are no fences. If what she said about the soda were true the guard would be written up. Other guards would have made sure. Second she has stated that the kind of cancer is fast pace and grows in 3 weeks. She was out of prison for a month before the onset of symptoms. She is a liar and takes no responsibility in her wrong doing. Blaming everyone but herself.

@@boobierubi8567 the two meds that they took her off of was no longer needed due to weightloss. The camp she is at is not the normal prison. She stated in one video the poured Cherokee red soda on her stuff. That prison doesn't even carry that in their commissary. You give the guards to much credit. Most of them are there to do their jobs and as long as the inmate does what they are supposed to do there are no issues.
I think there is 2 ways to view EVERYTHING. I say tough love, you say verbally abusive. I’m a glaucoma patient and could e had my vision in my right eye salvaged if my doctor had bothered to notice that my eye pressure was above 38. Losing something that you rely on because of incompetence is a very legitimate reason to be bitter. Doctors are trained to notice these things.

She can afford programs, prepared and healthy meals, personal trainers and even bypass surgery. She's in her fifties and has had decades to deal with it. She's had decades to take care of her weight, her health, and hasn't done it. She yells at the girls because she's angry at herself because she has been unable to do so. Ask any psychologist. She needs a lot of counselling to determine why that is. Why would anyone spend money on their aging face (which will age regardless) when there are life and death issues staring back from the mirror?
