This is SO old! "They recently found 2 new species of frog"...add another 5 (that I know of) named species since you recorded this, all named after Star Trek captains! 😄
"I said "Ribbit" fiiiirst". That alarm you hear for certain answers is not to signal a correct answer. It sounds if the answer given is considered "Not only wrong but way too obvious". It's used to call out hack jokes and common misconceptions and loses you points.
@@AmericansLearn Alan Davis followed that path, often ending with a score far into the negative numbers (At least back when I still used to watch the show).
the thing with QI ("Quite Interesting") is that the questions are written specifically for nobody to get the right answer, so they give out points for how interesting the response is. it's about the conversation the questions generate than it is about actual knowledge.
Hi Lauren, when Sandi was talking about noxious substances and Alan said it's called lynx, that's a mens deodorant marketed in the US as axe. Btw, you should have a look at Alan's "Blue Whale" compilation. starting in series one, whenever a question about heaviest, largest or longest came up Alan always answered Blue Whale, usually wrongly, after the first few times the question setters would lure him into the answer with a very ambiguous question. The one time it was the correct answer, Alan hesitated, and someone else got the points.
The term red Indian is what is used in the movies which is where you would hear the particular noise he mentioned....native Americans do NOT make the sound.......the red Indians in movies however do. It is still not a great thing to say but as a descriptor it is acurate.
there is an QI episode where they talk about most of what they tell (or what you learn at school) being wrong in a few years because of new research and knowledge.
the Noah story is not totally accurate. According to the original texts the animals that the bible said were fit to eat or Kosher came on the Ark in sevens.
There are ways to get "craps" your neighborhood also - though I don't recommend that😁 I think that the "Perfume of The Timeless" is already on your plans so nothing about that. Think NW publishes many: Making of Yesterwynde - atleast 1&2 are out now, but 2,5 min vids should be gathered in one session?? This I count two asks? It's the first one I asked from this channel: but was not nowhere online the - now it seems to uploaded again, shorter? "Do Women Know Men's Bodies?!" (nope, LOL) ruclips.net/video/54l2Z0eAEeo/видео.html

I would make it my goal to lose ALL the points at least once.

That last bit from Alan is one of my favorite things from the show.

There isn't as much of a PC culture in Britain as there is in the US. There's some but not as strict as across the pond.

She doesn't need to watch it now you've told her everything lol
@@BunniMonster it could still be quite funny to watch, ngl

Wow that shirt with that eye shadow. Didn't know anyone matched colors like that but it really works.
The facts on QI are generally true facts. They are very keen to do their research and have a whole team to do so.
An Owl’s legs go all the way up to just under the head! The legs are hidden under all the feathers.
The science videos are the best! P.S. Mad Hatterpillars are real (but not the scientific name).
Please please do more QI, you have such a great sense of humour.
" I DONT GET CRABS OTHER PLACES " OUT OF CONTEXT

Minutes 2 points Lauren
😂 But Davies is pronounced Davis, so you were right when you said Davies the first time. Same with Greg Davies (Greg Day-viss)
Ballet dancers, not bellydancers.
