How can ANYONE not love Steve Jones?
If he stole your car it might affect you.
The artful dodger is indeed loveable
Steve Jones - brilliant, influencial and underrated guitarist. His autobiography is amazing - so honest, funny and at times heartbreaking. An amazing read
ranked in the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time = not underrated
@@podiumguy100 what number did he come in at?
This interview basically goes over everything that any fan of the pistols or Steve Jones has heard a hundred times but is still great to hear because Steve Jones is such a great, down to earth guy.
I'm glad Matt Pinfield is doing well. I never even knew about the accident but it was clear that something had happened to him.
It's probably excessive rehashing of precisely the same old stories, but Mr. Jones is a perpetual good sport so it was lovely to hear him.
Steve Jones, one of the greatest guitarists of all-time
Take away the words one of and you've got yourself a correct statement
the 97th greatest to be precise.
@@drea4195 Nah, Jonesy is Top Ten without a doubt. From a guitar point of view, he invented punk. That's huge
Influential... would be far more appropriate and is much more accurate and befitting
Not really !
I could sit and listen to Steve Jones talk all day.
Steve is just a living legend,no Bollocks with Mr.Jones.
Good stuff! Jonesy looking like he's taking his health a little more serious after the HA.. My dad had one in his 50s, nearly 70 now still going strong. You don't realise how quickly you become old, 20s & 30s, 40s then it starts knockin.
Glad Steve had his heart checked on .Early detection is key. . This kind man never hoards an interview ever. Pleasant and smart
Steve is a great riff Meister. Heavy power chords and has a unique way of playing. I think he is a good guitarist who taught himself hence his uniqueness.
It's hard to duplicate what he does and have it sound as good. It's just a full, slashing, unique sound.
Wow. Never thought i'd see Steve Jones interviewed by Rick Harrison from Pawn Stars.
haha
Nice to see Jonesy being interviewed for a change. Shame said interviewer is so "jazzed", total opposite to Jonesy's laid back demeanor. It appears to happen every song break.
XYZ take it you have no idea who Matt pin field Is? He's being pretty
Laid back compared to 25-30 years ago
Pinfield is probably super jazzed to interview Steve. It’s probably just his excitement and caffeine
Adderall.
You outed yourself as a doofus by calling Pinfield "interviewer."
I could literally listen to Steve Jones all day. Great job :)
you must be pretty vacant :-)
I couldn't literally do that, because I need sleep BUT I could metaphorically. Or strapped to a chair with saline eye drops and everything, but it would still be tough.
Pinfield looks high AF lol...Love ya Matt keep rockin!
Matt pinfield was in a terrible car accident not all that long ago. So everybody needs to give it a break.
Good to see both of these gentlemen are healthy.
Can remember my uncle introducing me to mosh pit in his mom’s living room
Jonesy yer a legend m8! I bought Bollocks in '77 and have been a fan since. Your autobio is one of the best I've read! we need more man :)
But it came out in 78?!? Lol
@@jeremyrobertson7267 released on 28 October 1977!
@@Lucasrainford ok, my bad! I live in Australia so we probably didn’t get it until 1982 or something back then!? lol
@@jeremyrobertson7267 lol no worries dude :)
I remember hearing about the Sex Pistols when I was about 8 . 1979. Lol “ this band throws up on stage, there great!” I will never forget that. You rock Jonesy!!!
I reckon the interviewer must have drank a gallon of red bull, see how polite i am as not to mention mr white.jonesy is a top bloke and glad he’s getting well.
Fun time. Nice to see and hear Steve Jones being interviewed. He’s the best interviewer. Hope he returns to it. Matt Pinfield is a very different kind of interviewer. He’s an enthusiastic fan and asks the right questions.
No, asked the same questions of Steve that he's been asked for 40 years.
Really liked Mat Pinfield's interviewing style, its nice to listen to an interviewer that knows what he's talking about, makes a change!
jonesy is the best i been waiting for more of his show loved all the interviews an the new fx series about the pistols looks pretty cool cant wait to see that
that interviewer looks like he wont ne sleeping for a month
On December 3, 2018, Pinfield suffered a near-fatal accident when he was
crossing the street near his Hollywood home. He broke his leg in two
places and split his head open all the way to the skull after hitting
the windshield headfirst and whacking his head a second time on the
pavement. Why people always gotta jump to conclusions, I shall never understand.
He's got some people stalking to do right after this!
Two Guys who have had a bit of a kicking in the last couple of years (health / accident wise) Great to see them both doing well, keep on keepin on Chaps! Love from the UK.
Sweet Jesus Mercy:)Steve Jone's looking healthy&keeping honest!Pretty Vacant is one of the best guitar riffs, ever!!:)
Please peeps, pray Jeremiah 17:14 for steve if you love him(I do)Heal Me Lord,And I Shall Be Healed,Save Me Lord And I Shall Be Saved,For Thou Art My Praise...."Always thought the Pistols&the Doors were the most honest bands ever,&I gotta go with it.....
@CHUCKY PLUTO His last album single rocks-very Modern Lovers, which is a good thing!
@@ryangettig274 oh please.
@@youjoker9647 like you please yerself:)?
You Joker oh please what? It’s one of the defining guitar riffs of an entire generation, when I think the 1960s it’s Day Tripper or Satisfaction that defines that eras guitar music, the 1950s it’s Johnny Be Good or That’ll Be The Day...the 1970s is Pretty Vacant.
LEGEND: working class lad who nicked to make his dreams a reality
Listened to Matt spin vinyl at WRSU in NJ back in the day. He turned lots of people on to music that no one else was playing. Heady days indeed!
One of best interviews I’ve ever seen onSteve
That interviewer was fucking awful. He must've had ten words to every one of Jonesy's.
Poor Steve - he's been talking about that Bill Grundy show incident for almost 45 years !
Still a genuine nice bloke and a laugh
Raise a glass for Steve ! Cheers!
Steve went white after he gave the $10 lol
I grew up listening to KLOS radio growing up in Long Beach 😉👍🏻
Both of these fellas are lucky to be alive. 👍
Jonesy , we love you man, your a legend in your own living and I bet your as surprised by that as everybody else but hey that’s how it is . Great show by the way .
Steve jones is a fucking guitar hero.
I know he didn't come up with all the tunes himself, but boy, did he put style into tjose songs.
Made them.his own.
I taught myself guitar to sex pistol.
I thank jonsey for all my rhythm...chuck berry too.
Steve’s album “Fire and Gasoline” is just a awesome album start to finish. In my top five for sure. His guitar tone on that album is pure f’ing gold!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎸
So good to see Jonesy has settled well in America... Love his show. Big fan of him, the Pistols & all things British Punk when l was aged 12, pogoing at our local youth club!
Loved him in Californication too.
The boys done good 😊
I'm digging the ''Diamond Dogs' t-shirt
Love ya Jonesy. Own your book too hahaha
Excellent ...
KRAFTWERK!!!
@@kristazieschang1205 Schultz?!!?
Added a new line to my bucket list today...
To one day get as high as Matt Pinfield was whilst interviewing Steve Jones
I can imagine how incredible their second record would have been, after touring and building that chemical reaction.
You can see the sex pistols thin lizzy Christmas song being performed on the Kenny Everette show on RUclips, saw it recently much to my surprise. As Christmas songs go, it is passable.
And Steve has a blow up doll wrapped around his head...going down on it...😂
I've read Steve's book.. lots if good background history on him. I def enjoyed him talking about jacking pepples equipment...
Umm the interviewers’ breathing and eyeballs is giving me coke anxiety
His voice is bloody annoying too
24:09 Wow he hates his vocal? I love that album “Fire and Gasoline”. I love “Leave Your Shoes On”, “Troublemaker”, “God in Louisiana” and of course the 2 covers “Did U no Wrong” (with Axl) and “Suffragette City” are just amazing. Check that album if you haven’t. Yeah it sounds 1989 style but it is great.
I once asked Steve why he sung like that on the album....and he said "Jesus...I don't know"...
Steve Jones is a standup guy
I wish the Neurotic Outsiders would play again.
Such a good album that one
Professionals! Steve Jones still the Best!
Matt! Now that i crawled out of my rock, its good to see there is life after 120 minutes
The Sex Pistols shone so bright and for such a short time. Then that was it finished
He looks like Philip Serrel, the antiques expert, on Bargain Hunt in the UK!
Lol #97 on 🎸 player list ! 😎
Matt is a great music journalist. He really is a music fan. He looks so much like Verne Troyer.
My god too intense
That might have been Bob Marley's amp on NMTB! Kin ell :-)
pistols only ever released one official LP in it's lifetime, Jonesy's guitar work alone merited their acceptance into the hall.
Was Matt Pinfield in Princess Bride? Inconceivable !
... never go up against a Sicilian when life and death is on the line!
HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH (...croaks and dies...)
i was listening to jonesey when he was on indie 105
Ian Astbury mentioned that-good eye&ear:)
It was Indie 103.1 :)
@@katiedorrell7751 i stand corrected
I am glad I came across KLOS/Jonesy▪️I have alot of catching up to do.▪️ Fascinating Stories and Interviews▪️
The good ol days of the early 90s at the Melody Bar in New Brunswick on a Tuesday night with Matt Pinfield in the cage!!!
"Rock Stars In Anoraks"
Why is it only ever with live audience now preferred the studio ones
what did i miss? why is jonesy doing the show from the Viper room and not the studio?
The B52's reminded me a bit of the Police. Did you ever get into Pink Floyd?
Jonesy rules
10.10AM Thurs here - knew 99% of what Mr Steve Jones answers would be - just jokin!' ...still, newer artists could learn something about what it's like...way back before even '88 - "Trying to hard be a Rock guy, and it ain't just me..." Honest.:)
My friend Wendy got the $10! And she is the only person aside from Jonesy would who know that music... very good!
@Shirley Knot ok then you look exactly like my friend Wendy...
Just listen to LowDown on the Instinct album with Iggy, what am I sayin here, the whole album is great but the groove and sound Jonsey has is amazing, absolute perfect ingredient.
I really like the tee-shirt Matt has on!
Matt's breathing heavy!
steve jones eyes are playing 360 degree.he is searching some things that stealable
?
@@edrader ??
steve jones, sex pistol guitarist, is the other guy
I really like the host, he did a great job. Very enjoyable.
Also Jonesy - please get Dave Gahan on the show.
Guy on the right is a good interview, he deserves to get his own radio show.
It's a shame there's no music channel or something where he could maybe like host a late night music video program etc etc I dunno.
@@hamupinhere something like the metalheads gala it would be called if he had such television and or radio
program
he meant a hard day's night, but that was the impetus for many young rockers to start a career.
Jonesy the man.
Hey Matt I am a good friend of Pete Tomlinson and he has always spoken highly of you..
hey I know Pete and Matt....great guys
Matt Pinfeld!
I bet he gets fed up keep telling the Grundy story
Not really he's only got so much as his performance career wasn't that long.
Happens to the best
shew Matt, ya might wanna take about 10% off the speed intake bud
agreed - "totally wired"
Steve's absolutely true I grew up in Hammersmith always bunked in the Odeon saw so many bands blondie police ruts banshees skids damned jam motorhead..........and on and on go on jonesy big up the the west London ❤️
When times were good
Benbow Rd Budd 👍😕
It's a shame that even just a bit of the songs on the casts are not play for us listeners to hear .
Matt seems to be 'high as a Kite' in this ?!
We need another music revolution like punk to shake things up, but people are too glued to their smartphones to care
Mat ( Eddie trunk stole my career ) pinfield lol
Why can't they just show both of them onscreen at the same time
Great interview and i think that bass players and drummers are always funny and sympatic guys but guitar players are a little more sensitive...:D steve jones has written some great stuff great guitar tone and he really seem like a nice guy
Pinfield sounds outta breath while Jonesy answers.
Rolling Stone list rates him at #97 but to us Jonsey is NUMBER ONE! Keep on rockin' dude!
Do you mean, A Hard Days Night or Help? I watched Hard alot but Help just seemed stupid if I remember right
That's right. Thank goodness someone is educated enough to know the difference! He is describing "A Hard Day's Night", not "Help".
Yeah, he was and is so hip, I doesn't know the difference.
WTF is wrong with Matt Pinfield's leg? lol!
Steve Jones Tea leaf and walking hair do.
MP is clearly on speed here
how does Steve stay sober in the rock 'n' roll world?
I LOVE Jonesy! Who doesn't?
Being sober 29 years man he needs to get to the pub
I wish I did that interview Matt is good but we all ready know that stuff. I want hear about Johnny thunders Dee ramone stories. Call me KLOS
Sorry he's a boring interviewer.
He just not a punk
Exactly. Tell us stories that haven’t been told 10000 times. Billy rath told me a bunch of cool anarchy tour stories these guys have never talked about.
scott meyers yeah I like to hear about the 2 years living in nyc with all those guys dead boys Ramones Blondie it would be cool to hear
@Joe Sudz who is claiming to not know who he is? He's been around forever.
