I learned Spanish as a second language and it is my favorite excuse to read YA books because they’re complex enough to feel like I’m giving myself a challenge but generally still easy enough to enjoy and understand. I’m currently rereading the Hunger Games books in Spanish and have been having so much fun haha
English is my second language, and I struggled so much in learning, but here I’m! Not fluent, but good enough! Classic books still scare me, and i get so frustrated when i cannot get the definition of a word in my head, and there’s no one around me to practice the language with. but that’s all okay! It’s an essential part of the journey! Btw your voice in dutch is so beautiful (I believe voices slightly change in different languages) keep it up Ally! I believe in you. Just don’t put much pressure on yourself, if it happened overnight it’ll go overmorning :)
You edit and produce these videos soooooo WELL, they are addicting and so motivating! Treating myself more and going out book shopping instead of doing work or school has really helped with my migraines so it might help with yours, too. I didn’t associate the two for the longest time because I didn’t feel that connection physically but it was there.
Eating lunch while hearing about a surprise deluge of cat urine was nowhere on my list of expectations for the day. Thank goodness for the newly discovered Laurens shrug technique, which has cured the trauma and left me feeling like a new man.
"succes" in Dutch classes! (I googled what 'good luck' was in Dutch to comment that lol). I'm all for using books to learn a language! My Spanish teacher in high school threw out textbooks and taught us by reading Spanish Children's books. To this day (over 6 years later!) I still have such a retention of Spanish and I'm looking to apply the same logic in learning Croatian. Also, love your editing as always. It makes me smile.
