Speaking Up as the Helmsman Of The Apollyon's Fury Losing the ravager was a kick in the teeth for everyone, it's large piece of history just wiped from the map and we're sad to see her go out like this, but at least she went out in rider fashion and went down swinging. The grandmother to modern battleship tactics indeed. She was a wonderful example of the worth a battleship can bring to the fight, even if she did have a bit too much junk in the trunk. Bit sad both Titan classes no longer are operational but at least the wrecks can be kept together as a monument on a tile or something Rest Easy Ravager, Rode hard, and were put away hard.
She will be missed by all. Current riders, Former riders and even those who killed her will remember her.. I’m both proud and sad at the same time, but she’ll forever ride in the great sky’s above

Can't tell you how captivated I am by this series. I have binged basically the entire series from S1 EP1, up to current in about 2 weeks if that. This is hands down the most entertaining show I've seen in a very long time. And seems to have more work put into it than a lot of big budget TV series and Movies. And all of this is just for fun. And I'd assume that's why this series does so well and is as entertaining as it is.
i really do hope they rebuild the ravager. The ship who dueled the levy along side the eternity. Maybe do a plotline about it, finding its wreckage, salvaging its main hull, and returning it to the riders to be refitted and repaired (rebuilt essentially but with elements of the original, to honor it) Would be cool. Its a special ship. The snek is getting there too.

EFN don't have nearly enough people to operate the thing. And in general we've already resurrected a ton of ships. It's hard to let go of stuff but there's always better

I still think whoever was in charge of her during her final battle should have been fired for losing the very heart and soul of the Riders. Rest in peace, Ravager! I would think if Riders had been a bit conservative on her deployments and not tried to brawl with her, she may still be in service. Like Brock said commanding a battleship is tricky, and in most ways difficult. I would have used the Ravager. a bit different, instead of just charging into enemy formations head on like a cavalry charge, I would have used her as a long range asset, keeping enemy formations just inside my weapons range and supporting my own formations. Big ships with big guns don’t do so well with up close and personal unless it’s a 1v1 situation. I would very muck like to see another Ravager or Titan class built and used right. Maybe give her a 1000mm lance artillery cannon as one of her forward batteries, then maybe charging in guns blazing would be a little better. Btw not only is using and commanding a BB wether it’s a light or heavy difficult but designing one is a frikkin nightmare and headache.😂
So far only Borodino broke the mold of artillery only, but that kinda stopped working when Warfare 2 happened. Ravs usage was def odd throughout its service
Ravager never got her critical refit that would have turned her into a frontline combat ship. Late in S1 there was a doctrine formed around using her as an aggressive squadron anchor and the tests produced spectacular results. However, then I left the Riders and took the design with me, so the Riders sort of fell back on the old "tank it" mentality. Sadly, Rav was never meant for that sort of fight and without a clear doctrine she was largely wasted and misused.
@@CaptainRhodor To me the Rav looked and operated good. It’s the whole charge in ahead of everyone that seemed to be the main issue. I’m kinda curious tho what your design or blueprint for her refit looked like. But alas I guess that’s a mystery for another tale.

Then, once they scattered, one of her escorts (preferably a DDG for close-range protection) would stay close while her other two (preferably a cruiser and DD) would break off and begin flanking and pinning the most isolated ship of the hostile formation for the Rav to pounce on. Rinse and repeat until either the formation takes too much damage to keep fighting or the enemy runs out of ships/retreats. It was devastatingly effective when employed in late S1, but the concept was never again used thanks to the advent of "Spin to Win" making formation fighting nearly impossible.
Such a lot of tonnage was destroyed this season! How can this system hope to compete against Earth? Maybe next season could have an episode focusing a little on industrial things showing civilians rebuilding after the last war.
Also I was a bit proud of the Khans this season, trying to do what they promised, but then they got a bunch of Rider and Khan ships killed near the end. I think they could have handled that one better.
i have a star trek styled cruiser that has star trek technology, and i think it would be a cool idea if it was put against this server's fleets, similar to the eternity, only it's a lot more powerful.
Are there any carrier type vessels in the series? Although given what I’ve seen in the battles and the Eternity’s own fighters, even the shielded ones they seem to be either bad or just useless. Also if carriers have yet to be introduced that would require learning a whole new ship meta which as this video demonstrates with the current war that would not be ideal.
Yes, but they're not as prevalent atm as most factions had focus on large vessels as the skill barrier had only recently been over come for sucessful fighter deployment At the moment there are many fighter deployments and hybrid carriers, but only one dedicated carrier

These endless wars, these territorial and bureaucratic squabbles in space, are the byproduct of administrators and schemers - not leaders. The Ravager and its crew may be dead, blazing in radiant immortality through the legends it has left, but we of Earth long to see its like once more.

The Ravager never found her place as a fire support mobile artillery as BB Eternety's Advent was used on many occasions sure she also killed ships by ramming them but that's a last resort manoeuvre, the king of manoeuvres Captain Brock can only make it either from the reactor room or from a toilet. The Ravager would live a long more successful life as a battleship if distance would be her weapon rather than close distance ship on ship direct fire engagements. In a way, she reminds me of the first battleships after the dreadnaught era the heavy cruiser class large calibre gun vessels deployed by the British during WW2
My question is why no one is building assult and garde ships in the vain of crest of the stars . It seems to me to be a winning strategy with the way this servers meta is . Unless a lack of crews is the problem. The ravager her self could have benefited a good deal from guard ships [ small corvet sized vessals heavy on point defence weaponry.
You can only have 4 ships in a squadron unless you have only frigates and the jeune Ecole Doctrine in which you can have 4 frigates plus one other ship
@@admiralmallard7500 point defence also keeps small fast vessels from doing what ever they want in relation to a larger ship but yes I have seen some on the auto targeting problem in space enginers. It seems to be one of the things a good chunk of peaple seem to mention wanting fixed or changed in some way . The tldr from what overseen is the turrets tend to shoot straight at missles with no regard for lead time or shot pattern.
@@petman515 The problem is that SE targeting overcorrects for velocity due to a bug in the code that Keen refuses to fix for some reason, and it won't engage unless it thinks it has a good firing solution. However, that means that if you have something moving at incredibly high speed (like, for instance, one of our Outlands 400mm shells that travel at 1000 m/s) it's a 50/50 chance that the gun will even detect it in the first place, much less effectively engage it.

They only feature decorated and detailed blocks you can build with. But the base game stuff is still good and there's mods. Only limiting factor will be stuff on the workshop

I've been watching the series and watching some of these vids, I never thought of role playing in Space Engineers. This has been an awesome series.

plus point defence is useless in space engineers. we basically cant intercept projectiles
