I remember watching that Nike commercial (2:00) like 4-5 years ago and being absolutely impressed by the visuals! Now I can finally understand how it was created
please, never make money off the back of pirated works! If you feel like you are too broke and have to pirate to learn, PLEASE remember to pay for the works that helped you, once you land that great job! (and pay for a copy of houdini indie, while you are at it)! This is a great community; so, always give back to keep it strong, and never just be a freeloader, OK?
also, if that is what is needed, is there some simple way to render that via cloud computing? emphasis on simple... and would i even be able to work on projects like that before they are rendered with an ordinary computer? thanks!
In the first iteration the grid is needed for the initial points to copy the smaller geometry to. But that grid shouldn't be merged with this geometry (and the bool therefore should only perform this between the geometry in the left input), so it is deleted before being wired into the bool. In every iteration thereafter the created geometry is used to scatter points to copy more of those smaller pieces and then merged with them, therefore it keeps growing. In these iterations the delete doesn't function as the group no longer exists. Otherwise one would need a switch in the network to switch after the first iteration, but this is a cleaner method.
Naw you can do a lot in houdini. Modeling, particles in simulation, its a perfect tool for motion graphics. Look up this ice cream redshift model that was made in houdini and you'll see what I mean.
Brandon Wise You could do a lot in Houdini always, not only now. It always has been fully self-sufficient software. It had not the best tools for modelling and it was the main drawback.
Flabbergaster ho-ho, you're comparing the package which has been used in the movie industry for ages with some sacond-rate software for individuals and small companies making simple ads and product viz. For you to know there were the big three in 3D world - Softimage (which was killed by AD), Houdini and Maya. These packages were used for many well-known movies and cool TV commercials. Cinema 4d still can't get to the top as it has no built-in fluid/smoke simulation, weak particle system, no node based material editor, slow viewports etc.
houdini does pretty much everything at this point. The only thing you might want to add is a GPU renderer or you may wish to use a free-to-use game engine such as unreal to render your scenes. Houdini only does CPU rendering, which can be slow on a personal computer.
3:50 this guy just speaks nonsense - he could just hit play and keep his mouth closed, the more he talks the more uninspiring it becomes. How is he still able to make cool visuals? I have no idea

2:17 I saw this exact one in cinema 4D official showreel
it's normal, since he used both software for developing the scene.
a total novice question here, but what kind of computer do you need to make stuff with this level of detail? i heard him mention 128 GB of RAM?
also, if that is what is needed, is there some simple way to render that via cloud computing? emphasis on simple... and would i even be able to work on projects like that before they are rendered with an ordinary computer? thanks!
@@P.Gillett I'm new to Houdini, but I'm pretty sure there are render farms such as RebusFarm and others. They are simple to use, I think.

SO link is given below!!!
Amazing Thanks
I had to watch tNice tutorials video literally 7 tis to understand how the channel rack, softs, and tracks work. I can see why people either love
