- An incredible sequel to Marfusha, Sentinel Girls 2: Snezhinka takes everything the first game did and bumps it to 11.
Gameplay wise it follows the same idea: you defend an objective for several waves while gathering money in order to buy upgrades from the shop. The upgrades come from RNG cards at the start of each day so there's a lot of replayability. This time around there are a lot more weapons for each category, and personally I think every single one of them is usable. The available stats change due to the introduction of a revolutionary system: being able to ADS. Each weapon now has their own bullet speed and accuracy, the latter which gets way better by ADSing, which lowers your move speed but drastically reduces your bullet spread. Another new addition are support weapons which occupy the space for blue gadgets. These are powerful weapons that operate on a cooldown, which also has its own dedicated stat so you can use them more often as you level it up. The last stat introduced was the Knockback stat. While each weapon has different knockback stats, you can also improve it by raising this stat, which against more durable enemies you can get to the point where they stop in their tracks.
Story wise we follow Marfusha's sister, Snezhinka. Taking place right after thr true ending of the previous game (so play that one first if you haven't), Snezhinka gets increasingly worried seeing Marfusha return with more and more injuries, until one day she doesn't return home. Wanting to help her big sis, she decides to join a PMC called Blue Peacock Co. and start getting into the fight.
There are 2 story routes to follow, this being the standard one where you go to East City in order to retake the place where Marfusha was forced back in the previous game. This is the main route of the game, and depending on the companion you have is what determines the ending. After getting a companion's ending, you also get the chance to try out their playstyle in the story mode, which is the same they have in the challenge mode (aside from Snezhinka who is a special case). Speaking of companions, we get a new set of characters to meet. The general gist is the same with you getting some small story segments with them every few days where you get to know them better. While you only get a handful of interactions, I found myself liking every single girl, and their endings were great. Hector is my favorite girl but the ending I liked the most has to be Dezik's.
In this run I went solo in order to get Dochka's ending which was the last one I needed, and man do you once again feel the lack of support when you're running without a companion. Also, I forgot to mention but the game now has a difficulty selector, and man is Hard actually hard. Not only do enemies deal and resist more damage, they also move way faster.
