We lived in WI for 7 years. I never cared for brats myself but my hubby liked to boil them in beer and onions and finish on the grill. When we were moving to FL, a friend said FL doesn’t have brats. We do, just don’t have her favorite brand. I don’t remember the brand, but they came in all different varieties at the butcher.
There are some great brands out there. My favorite brand is no longer sold in our area unfortunately- Earl Campbell.
Here's a tip when you grill your brats: Soak your Brats in BEER & Onions before cooking on the grill (about a good half hour) It will change the flavor!!) It's so good!!
Great idea!!
Johnsonville Brats are the BEST!! They are made in my County!! I Live in Sheboygan, WI Always grill your sausage on the grill, Charcoal is the best!! Lenie's beer is also made in Wisconsin, Summer Shady is Lemon flavored. Sheboygan is famous for Brats and Hard Rolls..............If you can find Johnston's Bakery Hard Rolls, they are the best! We eat them with with Brown Mustard, Ketchup, Onions and Pickles, we call that "The Works"
Good morning y'all! I hope you're well. I eat a lot of Johnsonville brats and the beer brats are my favorite. I have had all of these though. I like to place them in a disposable aluminum pan of beer on my grill and boil them for a few minutes. That just ensures that the interiors come up to temperature while you're grilling them. They do not have a strong beer taste either. Nature's own brioche buns, sauerkraut, and mustard... One of the best things on earth 😁
Sounds great!
I always buy Johnsonville Brats. We love all of them. 👏❤️🌭
I don't think I've ever had a bad Johnsonville brat. I usually cook them in the oven until dark brown and add caramelized onions, bell pepper and Swiss cheese on a hot dog bun.
My go to flavor is the jalapeño cheddar flavor.
Marjoram is the spice that is used along with other spices in brats so that may be what you are tasting. The Johnsonville sausage buns are 170 calories each. Just happened to have some so I checked it.
Thank you for checking! 😃
Starting next Wednesday June 26.
K rogers will have the precooked packs 2.99 with digital coupon and can buy upto 5 packs.❤❤
Love fresh Johnsonville beer brats, nice review
Thank you 😊
In the fall here in NM, you can find Johnsonville Brats made with Hatch Green Chile ( Hatch Chile is grown here in Southern New Mexico)!
Oh yum!!
These all sound good and perfectly cooked on the grill. Queso would be my last choice. The others seems equal to me. Thanks for the review.
Thank you 😊
I think fennel might be the spice/seasoning you are trying to describe with the first original bratwurst.
Thank you!
Have you tried the Johnsonville chili cheese or jalapeno and cheese they are both amazing
The review for the chili cheese one : ruclips.net/video/bH7GgaTtBfg/видео.htmlsi=ihp4yaqOHEiOVY8y
I love the jalapeño cheese!
Ever since your first video highlighting the queso pre-cooked ones I have checked my Kroger and I've had absolutely no luck finding them. However they did have one that I haven't seen your review yet called double cheddar and it is excellent I love it! Hopefully queso comes out soon to our area and the consensus has been that it's not too spicy so I think I will enjoy it! 😊
That sounds good! I don’t recall seeing it here!
@@TamiDunn it really is tasty! I hope you find it soon! 😊
We just found the raw ones at Mejers on our road trip on Thursday and made them Friday. We loved them just as much as the ones already cooked…..especially the queso. Just wish we had a Mejers locally.
I’m glad you enjoyed them 😃
My father often buys Johnsonville, from what I could tell. I would like to taste beer if they say beer, unpopular opinion but I would want BEER. I happen to like beer so 🤣
I thought for sure it would make a difference.
I like this brand
Why not cook them all
Thanks for an awesome review. I got the feeling that these weren’t your favorite brats.
I’ll pass on them. I would like to try the other Queso but maybe too hot/ spicy.
Enjoy a fantastic day.
The other queso is delicious!
I drink Summer Shandy every Summer but the brats didn't really have the Summer Shandy taste. Summer Shandy has a lemon flavor and the brats didn't have it. I did like brats, but getting the regular brats would have been just as good. I soak my brats in beer and onions before cooking. My favorite brats though are Usinger's, then Sheboygan, Johnsonville and Klements. I do mostly Usinger's but do Johnsonville 2 or 3 times every couple months. I just the opposite. I'd rather have the fresh 100 times more than the pre-cooked ones. Then again, living here in WI, grilling brats has been a staple since I was a kid. Nothing like the smell of fresh brats on the grill.
Growing up, I don’t recall my dad ever grilling brats - not even once.
Oh and I was really hoping the leinenkugel flavor would come out better because the Summer shandy has a citrus vibe to it which I think would be a cool flavor in the sausage. I know Apple works quite well so I don't know why this would it.
It surprised me that the flavor wasn’t what I expected.
As a kid my dad akways bought brats and knockwust from the deli… I hated them… but I also hate bologna, regular hot dogs and pretty much any sausage except kielbasa…
The smoked sausage Queso was 10x better 😃
I fear for the people who think they can microwave these 😅
🤣🤣
I’m one of those that doesn’t want to taste the beer, so I’m these don’t have a beer flavor, however I do want to have that moisture in the sausage, not dry. I was hoping the queso would shine. I’ll pass on these. Thanks for a great review.
The others were much better!
