What a great Town and my favourite was the lamp Shop OMG that is a gold mine of history and I could listen to that man for hours. When he goes that will be a big loss of knowledge.
I totally agree Kim . I’m so happy that he’s going to turn into a museum. Such beautiful lamps and also that army memorabilia was amazing. Glad you’re on the mend. Hope to see you Wednesday night. Regards Deano
Wow 🤩 thank you that’s one of the biggest compliments we've recceived. Glad you enjoyed the episode and really appreciate your kind words. We love supporting little towns and businesses. Thanks again Deano
Adam and Dean, I don't know if you realised this, but this little town is where the Aussie movie 'The Year My Voice Broke' is set. This is my absolutely favourite movie and because of it, I would love to visit Braidwood one day, so am so pleased you did! If you have not seen this movie (or seen it in a while), please go back and watch it because it is a special movie. There is a scene where the kids are at a water hole and it is under the bridge where you went and had a look. If I go one day, I will look for 'Willy Hill'. Love your videos ❤
We both have not seen this movie 🎥 but we will definitely have to see if we can get our hands on it. Thanks for letting us know. Such a fantastic little town. We didn’t know about this town until we drove through it. So happy we did. Thanks again Regards Deano
Also the setting for Mick Jagger's Ned Kelly film (which my brother worked on as a sound technician). It is a beautiful town & you are correct about the pie shop it's owned by the same people as Trappers Bakery in Goulburn 😊
I live in Braidwood! 😆 I just found your channel and this I so cool! I’ve lived in Braidwood my whole life and I absolutely adore the people and surroundings. There are so many wonderful shops and places to visit! It’s such a beautiful town with rich heritage and a tightly knit community. It means so much to see you enjoy your stay and share your journey. We absolutely love visitors so please come back anytime! 😁☺️ For any others wanting to visit, I recommend; Casanovas sourdough bakery, great food, drinks, and baked goods! (And pizzas on Friday nights) And a really nice swimming spot that’s always good in Summer is the Bombay river, about 15min out of town. As well as our new skatepark, next to the rec ground, basketball court and tennis court.
I’m so excited you found us hope you keep watching our adventures and letting friends and family know about us to help our channel grow so we can keep showing people these amazing towns and help promoting small businesses. You definitely should what an amazing little town. And just so much to do. If you’re going to go, read some of the other comments from other subscribers they’ve got some great suggestions that we didn’t get to do. One of them is that you can see platypuses in the river near the dump point. Thanks for checking out the episode really appreciate it.
Carol, I really don’t know how we do it, but we seem to find these awesome towns. That’s the best part about driving around our country rather than flying and staying in hotels. You just miss out on so much. We love this town and especially lamp shop and the owner. Don’t forget Oscar the doughnut boy. What a great job he’s doing. Glad you guys are starting to feel better. Hope to see you Wednesday.
