Well done walk-around. One of the best, down-to-earth reviews I have seen on this trailer. Everything was simply put, and all was useful. have fun with it!
Great review! I really appreciated your straightforward honesty about costs for different add-ons. Coupled with actually seeing the add-on in your review helps in determining how I might like to go when planning my own order. And you did it all without slamming the manufacturer! Hats off to you!! One thing I miss seeing on most of these reviews is OTD cost. I know I can go online, create my own build, and usually get a final price. However, it sure would be nice to just be able to absorb the info in one video review. I say that because the way you have yours outfitted it pretty much the way I’d do ours (minus the little overhead shelf and the RTT. Thanks again for your review!
Get our Exped 2.0 in August, longest 8 months ever but going to be well worth it. We have a full size rig too so you having that makes this nice too. Look forward to real world reviews and videos of everything on this trailer.
I’ve got one on order and your video helps me justify the price. Probably the clearest look I’ve had. The sounds as you were opening and closing doors etc. made it seem really solid, unlike some other campers I’ve had that were very thinly built. Can’t say I agree with your decision on the heater. If cost was an issue, i’d add the heater and eliminate the tent. The tent adds so much weight and it’s such a pain to load and unload that it ends up living on the roof and pretty much eliminates alternative uses for the rack. Good video, I enjoyed it.
I have the Pando 2.0 and I like the 23 Zero Privacy Tent. It opens up and folds up in less than two minutes. And it eliminated the need to carry one of those pop up privacy tents. I would also recommend getting the Propex heater. I spend a lot of time above 10,000' and, even during the summer, it's chilly in the morning. With the heater option, you can set it to come on automatically based on temperature or based on a certain time of the day. With the gas buddy, it's just one more thing you need to pack up and carry around. Besides, I don't trust those things inside my $35,000 trailer!
Great looking combo! This is our 2nd year with our OGT Exp 2.0, and we still couldn't be happier. We've taken ours on some crazy terrain, and I think you'll find it tracks on the steep hard core stuff as well as the mild.
I was seriously considering this trailer, but, it was just to heavy for my jeep...and too wide for my liking. I decided to go with the overkill fellas in Oregon. Should be ready this month.
The rack on top of the box would be very helpful. It's illegal to bring firewood to a diffrent state. So we use fireplace logs, 3 logs a night. But with all this crap going on we may have to go back to old school. Cut firewood on the way to the campsite.
I know they are experiencing a bit of a delay on on materials due too, you know the dumpster fire of last year. It seems where they were getting these completed in 90days, for me was around 180.
@@SouthBoundExpeditions. .....I totally understand, I really hope our purchases exceed our expectations. I just noticed that they raised the prices by 3K. Looking forward to more of your videos and thanks for sharing
I have been looking at these OGT Expedition 2.0 trailers. Now that you have had it a little while, are you still happy with it? Would you buy the same trailer today or get something a little bigger? My tow rig is a 2018 Power Wagon, so it would be very similar size wise to your setup. I've been debating between a trailer this size or something a little bigger with a inside bathroom. What do you use for a toilet? Thanks.
I am working on a updated review of ownership The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. I have enjoyed my ownership, but would ask that you be patient for that video on if I would I make the purchase again. I do suggest you strongly think about your overall use and plans as this trailer is overbuilt to be abused off-road and the very reason for the high price. If you are just planning on some weekend trips to state parks or light off-roading there are many cheaper options out there. As for a toilet, I take a shovel.
Is there an option for an air-condition? Here in Florida that is much more important then a furnace. Although I will have the furnace for trips north of here.
About dam time, I thought you might have got rid of the Ram. Love the trailer, it's a great option, considering that I skipped on the RTT setup since I have 3 pups that travel with me.
Just priced one out, sweet options - But dam 36k before taxes I would have to go with a HQ Black Series Classic Double and if you spend 4k more you can land a 2021 HQ Blackseries C-12.
@@christopherlaboy9377 Black Series has been having a ton of quality control issues from my understanding. I have a friend that has the OG Trailer and loves it.
I have had a few Jeeps and decided I wanted another one to build an Overland/Off-road Adventure Vehicle. When discussing with the Wife she told me I could not get anymore vehicles, but did say since the Ram is really never driven and just sits I could do what ever I wanted to with it. I simply took her advise. The Ram has been a great off-road rig to me, it does have its limitations compared to some lighter short wheel based vehicles, but all and all there has been no challenge that I have personally faced that the Ram was not capable of. If you have a desire to get out and explore don’t let what other people say you have to have stop you from doing it. The perfect rig is different from one person to the next, the key is just being happy with what you have and enjoying the experiences that come from it.

Thanks for getting back to me on that. Also, my wife and I are pretty much set on the pando with the 270 awning but without the roof top tent and want to store it in our garage. I know you have the expedition, any chance that you've measured to the top of your awning? It would be very helpful if you have this way we'd have a good idea as to it clearing our garage door. Thanks again.
@@michaelortega9516 should be no problem fitting in the garage if you don’t intend to have the roof top tent. The awning will be close, but you should still come in under 84” in height.
So we took delivery of our Pando in late March. The top of the Pando without the awning is 79in. Our garage opening is 83in so I have to take the awning off to fit it in the garage but it’s a easy process to take on and off! We went with the 180 because once the door for the kitchen is up that additional awning corner doesn’t have any use, but I guess if the kitchen door was in the closed position you would have that small section behind the trailer covered. I don’t know if there is any height difference between the 180 and 270 but I want to say with the awning attached it was around 89in high
On the water heater side it you said that the compartment is pressure sealed but I noticed some slots cut out at the top. Is that a sealed compartment or is it open?
I may have not been clear as far as pressure sealed. The seals on all the doors are tight. It eliminates dust from getting in. All compartments have drain holes in them. The slots on the top of that door are for the Heater option if you chose to get it in order for to vent.
The slots are for the Propex Heater. I'm particular about dust and dirt daubers getting in there (they love the smell of Propane), so I cover those slots when I'm traveling with blue tape. I keep a roll in the bottom of the cabinet.
So the the inverter is worthless unless you are camping with shore power or a generator. You have about 4hrs or less just with leaving your inverter on not in use before it sucks the life out of your batteries. The only benefit they have without shore power is for quick use where a 110 plug is your only option.
Your tow vehicle will provide the most charging of your batteries while driving. Solar & shore power only provide a trickle charge keeping them maintained and heathy as they are really not a means of so called charging.
It all depends on how much electricity you use. We're getting the 2k inverter and the solar suitcase. The inverter is only for AC devices, so it's only used for things like a coffee maker, etc. when not on shore power. The 7 pin connector is just a trickle charge, so you'll probably want a DC-DC converter if you want to charge while driving. Otherwise it's solar or shore power to charge the two 115ah batteries. And never run those below 50% (~12.2v).
The trailer is not the issue, the 500lbs of bumper spare tire combo and soft Deaver Springs is. I am looking at options, either new springs or air bags.
I mounted a 100W Renogy on the top and I carry a 100W Renogy suitcase which folds up for travel. I like it because I can park the trailer in the shade and place the Suitcase in the sun. I also installed a Renogy MPPT charge controller. That keeps the batteries topped off.
