Just recently came across your easy theory..”Every Player Needs to Learn The Diatonic Chords of A Key” video from a year ago. I’ve learned more from that video than the dozen in person lessons I took this year at a local music store. You are a GREAT teacher!! I’ve subscribed and cant’ wait to complete all your video’s. I just watched your Accompany the Right Hand Video as well. I’m totally inspired!!! Thank you from Canal Fulton, Ohio!!
Funny, I was trying to find exactly what your video title suggests. I have the exact same issue with all these covers and tutorials I saw on RUclips; they sounded wrong and I wanted to practice it like Ray Charles played it. So thank you a lot for this lesson!
THIS IS THE BEST EVER CHANNEL FOR PIANO BEGINNERS like me!!! You deserve more subscribers. New subscriber here! 👌 I am struggling with my left hand, thank God I found your channel.
Your bottom G sharp key makes a funny (siren) kind of noise. I am not sure if only I can hear it or I am just making it up. But neverless Excellent tutorial! Thanks!
Hi there. Thank you for the video. Could you please do more videos of songs to learn? Theory is okay, but sometimes showing songs and how to play them would be better. Thank you
I’m describing the chords used because if it was me watching this when I was starting out, I would have been very confused and wouldn’t have been able to make sense of some of the notes in the right hand. Learning a bit of theory like that as you learn a song is much better in the long run, will help you label, recognise and memorise things more effectively and it’s really important for people who want to learn more about how that style/sound is created so they can do it themselves. 🙂
Interesting, I just know it by ear so had no way of telling whether he was thinking in G# minor or Ab minor. I went with G# because it made more sense, it's the more common and simpler key signature - In Ab minor I would have had to use an Fb 7 chord. Either way, it's the same actual notes on the piano! 👍
nice tutorial but i noticed your fingering is different when playing the bassline the first time as opposed to when you break it down and it makes it more confusing to learn. I must say though.. this is the closest tutorial to how it actually sounds so well done on that

This video: Okay, so to play this, you have to find what consciousness is.
Yeah, well, I think Ray played in flats, not sharps. Just sayin'

So if you just wanted to play this and sing the song, would you just play these chords on repeat?
Does it matter? As long as the keyboardists are enjoying their playing.
Really like what you are doing, but i only tend to play in key of ‘F’.
Hi, nice lesson! What is the key of this?
Genius! Big Ray Charles fan. Don't let the sun catch you crying definitely my favourite
