Ours is up in April . . . but I'm not sure we can afford to move. Toronto has gotten so expensive and this crappy basement with the upstairs people is still relatively cheap. Plus, the new landlord is a sweetheart so, there are perks on top of everything else. And as a side note - "the upstairs people" (as we call them) have been on vacation for the last two months!!! So, this is the place we had hoped to move into (at least until after Christmas or New Years - we are guessing).
Im so sorry!! I just found this videos and i just can feel the anxiety and pain that I lived with for so long. I used to record all the time, I had no sleep for over 3 years. I can sleep and have dreams again. Don’t give up!
Yes. It's funny now . . . . but at the time I would look at the ceiling and think "what the hell are you doing? Playing marbles indoors?" Not surprising since the young one would sometimes ride her tricycle in the house!!
It is practiced. I'm sorry to hear about your noise problems. Ours have changed - the people upstairs have moved! So our nights are quiet (and the days have workers and painters doing renovations. . . still noisy but no screaming).
@@spocksmusic I hate my life, because my fucking neighbours kids won't stop screaming, running and jumping and there's a horrible NOISE. I HOPE THEY FUCKING DIE
I have the same issue (although nowhere as bad as this) I feel for you man, it is very stressful, woodflooring is the worst thing that ever came to housing, every sound amplified including speaking voices because instead of sound being obsorbed its bouncing off the cold, hard wood surface Ban woodflooring, ban it from the ground floor up. Or at least can we get a ban in bedrooms? seriously !!!!
oh yes! absolutely... I recently moved to a house on a corner So silent and peacefully Appartments never again truly my last 10 years in it where a waste of time
God bless you. I feel so sorry for you. I have been living like this for 3 years and I don't know how much more I can take. I feel so stuck and hopeless. I hope you are okay and that you have gotten out of there. Can you please give me some advice on how to cope with my constantly loud neighbors who live above me. I really need help and someone to talk to because no one understands
Fortunately, it isn't constant with us . . . but I've just learned to tune it out and hope for a day we can afford to move. It doesn't help when I want to record but I've gotten used to working around the noise - to a certain extent. Sometimes there's nothing you can do but go out for a walk.
Michel Plourde thanks for the response. I hope you get out one day and I am hoping for the day I can afford to move too. It's very hard for me because the noise is typically constant all day and night. It's hard to have a normal life. It's hard to focus on things that matter in life and it's also hard because no one really understands and can help me through this rough time but I appreciate you're response and I wish you good luck. You are not alone
Psychological Torture is torture and building management’ offices need to be held accountable. This is my life right now and I have been gaslit into questioning if i’m just being sensitive. I’ve clinically suffered worsening anxiety and panic because of this. Misophonia is a very real thing. Bass impact noises (noises you FEEL due to impact vibrations in walls, above you, in the air) cant be fixed by a flimsy magnetic cover for your vent… which is what they ‘offered to help’. I have $55 acoustic panelling over my vents out of my own pocket and it doesnt help.
Unfortunately, a lot of people live in flats - houses that have been converted into apartments or some kind of living space. There are no management offices for those. Fortunately for me, my noisy neighbours moved a few years ago.
@ true, but even still, you have the evidence, could have threatened action if something didn’t change - i didn’t even know ‘psychological torture’ could be a claim until my legal team brought it to my attention. Glad your situation improved!!!
Thank you 🙏🏻 Going through this sht now first time ever. At some point I realize it just not me. And they don’t change. “Vampires “ living off others torment. Energy suckers. Don’t give them negative energy. Period.
"Hello, and welcome to ... HELL." That sounds exactly like my upstairs neighbors as well. I am so close to losing my mind right now that I'm ready for a Sanitarium.
I have lived next to a crowded house of low intelligent interbred people and so I fully sympathise. I am moving and taking into consideration to re insulate all walls and floors to ruduce my stress coping with the noises.
I'm going through this now!!!!! It's living hell! I've complained to the office and nothing has been done! So I'm going to call back tomorrow! I might call the cops soon!
I once lived in a really nice old house turned into 4 apartments and it was horrible because any noise carried through the whole house, everyone could hear everything that happened, like just walking around would wake people up. Later I lived in an apartment building with concrete floors and ceilings and it was like an isolation tank.
Shmarm 2001 I live in a converted apartment house. It is hell on earth. Never move in too cheap ass old houses decided up. You won’t get any peace and there is no privacy
That's the ticket! It's not just about apartment living but also about the construction of the apartment. There are much better apartment complexes out there than the sorry wooden ones.
I have two toddlers and the floor is made very cheaply. You can hear a phone vibration. We layed down two layer of carpets. Didn't help much. I stop my children all the time, took away the toys that make more noise. But it looks like nothing is enough for my neighbour. When my children were smaller I carried both of them at the same time so that they don't disturb her. Basically my children cannot make a few steps because she immidiately starts to hit the wall. The problem is that she can hear our upper neighbour but she doesn't believe it, so when we are all in bed she still hits the wall. But your neighbours are definitely too loud. They could still do something.
Just set your alarm, its called continuous alarm sounds on youtube. It plays for 1 hour. set it for 6am, then go for a coffee somewhere. Wake the vampires up....
I'm glad to say they moved two years ago to California and it has been completely different. As noisy as they were, I hope they are okay down there (lots of Covid).
Albeit it this is super late, I know your pain good sir. 9 to 10 straight months of this shit myself. I am moving out here next month. I hope you have moved out by the time I post this and not suffering from this nonsense. I swear there needs to be a law were people with kids SHOULD NOT be allowed to rent 2nd/3rd floor apartments.
A hard law to make and enforce . . . but I would be all for it. We will probably move in the summer after our lease is up (if we can afford to). I would miss the landlord - but not the family upstairs.
Ha! I only found your channel because of the music for "The Errand" ... had to comment on how much we feel your pain. Our neighbours have settled down for the time being, but they'd have just knock down drag out brawls! That sounds like a bulldozer or someone moving heavy equipment? Anyway, I totally loved what was done on the @bacontrees Channel. Thank you, and hopefully you no longer have to deal with the noise. Cheers!
I'm in the same boat as you, I'm out here in London and many of the older apartments have thin ceilings so I constantly here what my neighbours get up to from what's sounds like a couple Olympic marathons going down all the way to them yelling contests in Arabic, sadly we don't get to choose our neighbours
WTF.. this is just ridiculous. They should know that THEIR floor is another person's fucking ceiling!! I'm kinda having same problem with my upstairs neighbors too, it really drives me nuts
Yeah, to be honest I'm recording song covers recently and my downstairs is renovating, and my upstairs kid wont stop running during the day, and I can't sing at night cuz it will disturb other neighbors. why some people just can't be considerate..
Wow, I have so been there. Sorry. I've tried to co-ordinate my schedule to the surrounding chaos. It works sometimes - but I get a lot less done overall.
No. They moved a few years ago and all the neighbours since have been so much better. The occasional annoyance - but that is to be expected. Nothing like that "extreme" family. (mostly nice people - just very, very loud)
Unfortunately, most of the apartments in Toronto are improperly converted houses. We'd all be out on the streets for a year (and it gets cold in the winter here).
Looks like it’s been a few years since you made this video, but this is the only video I’ve found on RUclips so far that sounds exactly like what I’m dealing with. Add in the occasional loud music and loud talking and thats what my upstairs neighbors sound like. What can they possibly even be doing to make this much noise!?!?
This is crazy. These oeople have no respect for others. Hearing this seems like what is going on in my home too. I pray that you have peace. Its annoying.
I know your frustration. anytime any day! Problem is complaints lead to retaliation and property damage in my condo. Thankfully it's currently up for sale after 2 years of noise.
This is an easy fix! Take that keyboard, or a bass guitar .... or better yet BOTH, and hook them up to those Peavy speakers. Turn the volume up and aim them skyward! Then, at 3:00 am, when the kids are asleep, let loose with your best Geddy Lee riff .... Preferrably from Rush's tune YYZ!
Sounds like a nursery or a fair ground I'm 27 and live in a top floor flat and I never make any noise even neighbour below me said I am quietest neighbour he's had and he said he loves living under me you don't deserve this much noise because you are nice man and you don't make as much noise hope you got quietness in the end I think kids are worst for noise they never stop playing around
I have a 3rd video of the kids just jumping up and down for ten minutes that I never did put up. Fortunately they moved and it's quiet and peaceful now.
I just can't believe people like the upstairs neighbors exist in this world and in my case of having dealt with one for about 8 months some are even protected by the apartment. Every night I was getting panic attacks from the loud bangs. I have since moved to an upper floor myself but I'm still very distraught and have some PTSD from it. They had 5 adjacent units complaining about them and I was the unlucky one to live right below them getting the worst of the noise and even though I been living there for 3 years they said that I have to move and wouldnt evict them or face any kind of consequence for making my life a living hell for 8 months. You can tell the difference between intentional and unintentional noise and this is malicious. There is something seriously wrong with apartment living these days. My psychopathic ex-upstairs neighbor should be in a jail cell or mentally insane ward not an apartment. It really isn't fair that I had to move and the injustice continues with the next unfortunate soul that moves in below him. It just makes me more depressed if I think about it too much.. Good people deserve better then this.
What could they possibly be doing up there. It’s almost like record them and send it to them so they hear what you hear. It’s often worse than what they hear. Sounds echo and travel.
Yes they do. We had a foot and a half of empty space between the floors and it acted like a megaphone!! Fortunately, they moved a couple of years after I made that video and it's been quiet ever since. They had 3 kids under 5 years old and that day was some kind of kid's party..
My neighbors are the same way. I can't help but laugh at your reactions, because this is me! I have an iheartradio show, and holy cow this amount of sound is disruptful and annoying. I like to leave my RUclips going on my TV for them to listen to, after a long day of my extremely religious, pesky, and LOUD neighbors vacuuming 6x/day and listening to their purse dog howl because it's left alone constantly. The kicker is that I, like you, play a stringed instrument. When I play, it's before I go to bed or when I get up in the morning, and it's with muted strings, and not plugged in. And yet, they called the cops on me one morning. I marched right up there and had a word with them, let me tell you. I tried to be friendly with them for awhile, but they're super passive-aggressive. I can't stand them.
No consideration for your neighbour below. I live in a 2 bedroom private apartment. I'm off work at the moment with a tumour. The new neighbour above lets their Daughter run up and down their apartment from 7.30pm untill she goes to bed around 10.30pm. She looks to be 7 or 8 years old. My son has gone up twice and asked them if they could tell her to stop running. 2 weeks later and their has been no changes and i don't know what to do next!!
Its like this where Im at... They let their kid run around like its a circus.. Screaming, jumping, crying, throwing things, standing in one place and stomping, dragging shit around.. Nonstop. I texted the landlord today. It has to stop were at our limit. To make it worse i have to wait around 2 months or more to know if i have a rare blood cancer.. Yaayyy mental breakdown...
You poor man sounds like my neighbours lived above you before they moved above me . I have the same problem maybe just not as bad . The way I deal with them is blast em out with some sounds ,not ideal but it will give you a little sense of justice .
I feel like anyone with kids should automatically have to live in the basement or lowest floor. I have kids living above me, and I'm just a single person. The kids are non stop, yet I am quiet as can be. So not fair
I'm single no kids as well. I feel like too many people are having kids who have no business doing it...and the world is overpopulated enough as it is...people are just bringing more problems into this world.
Thank you. They have been on an extended vacation for almost two months. It's been great, but they're back this week (and they have a baby as well now).
Holy smokes. This is ridiculous, and I thought I had it bad! Actually I do have it bad, the neighbors above me and also the ones behind me are VERY loud, but your neighbors..........that's basically abuse. I'm sorry you are in that situation man, sheesh.
Omg that is just insane. I thought my apartment was bad. I use white noise videos on RUclips and play through my tv. I go to College so it helps me so I can at least study.
@@spocksmusic you must've been rejoicing when your past upstairs neighbors moved out. I really think that it should be mandatory to sound proof apartment dwellings. I am so sorry for you. I have a 3 month old and whenever I put her down she gets woken up by this exact same bullshit. It is completely unnecessary. Hope your situation improves.
I'm sorry for you too. As a matter of fact, our situation did change. The noisy family moved a few months ago and the new tenants are wonderful. Occasionally their footsteps make it difficult to record but there is none of this constant noise for hours any more. I hope your situation changes in the near future.
@@spocksmusic Happy to hear your situation has improved. Sadly I think our only recourse will be to move when our lease expires. It's a shame because we like the neighborhood and our place is spacious and affordable, but we can't take the noise anymore. I have tried talking to this person about it nicely but it seems things have gotten worse over the last couple years.
We would move if we could but we had to find a place quickly and this is all we could afford at the time. I've been laid off from work for almost 2 years and am waiting to go back (maybe in the fall!!) We used to have a detached house but the landlord sold the house - to retire on the money from the sale of house That has happened three times in a row to us now (since 1997). Living in Toronto is tenuous at best; the government only wants rich people in the country and landlords are taking advantage of that. Sorry - I ain't one of those. I can only make what I make. There's not much one can do but hope (or buy lottery tickets). . . . Some day we hope to move . . . . . . . . .
Ya, we came from having a whole house (tiny and with tons of structural problems) - but nothing like this noise. We weren't prepared for this. We've had neighbours - but they were usually reasonable. I used to be able to play flute in our old basement and now I only have a two hour window after supper / before they go to bed. It's been two years since I could just do whatever, whenever - 'cause it was my place. Basements suck!!

Dude, I feel for you. I was experiencing the same thing, had a complete meltdown. Hope your situation has improved.
It has. They moved a couple of years ago. It's much better now.
Try getting woke up by this EVERY morning! I know how you feel, and then some.
This is why i dont do Apartments anymore.
Some people do not have a choice
oh yes! absolutely... I recently moved to a house on a corner
So silent and peacefully
Appartments never again truly
my last 10 years in it where a waste of time
When you think you have it bad... and it turns out there are people who have it waayyyyyy worse.
My GOD. That would drive me INSANE.
Just Lu same
God bless you.
Move! WTF is wrong with people? You don’t have to stay.
Oh wow, I have a noisy neighbor problem too. This is brilliant !! You made my evening Lol
It should be against the law for families to live in apartments no kids 💯
Two can play at this game, wait till they want quiet, and give em noise.😂
Apartment living sucks. Your only hope is living on the top floor.
Jawan T I live on top floor in thin walled apartment. It is just as bad with neighbors underneath and on other side of paper towel apartment
@@back2the80s yep paper thin walls with loud neighbors beside you are still terrible
Common sense when you live in apartments with common walls, you be QUIET
.....at least for a few hours a day.
Are they bowling up there? Sounds like a bowling ball
I would lose it !!!!!!
I have once or twice.
Tania I would go crazy
Sounds like a playgroup upstairs I would move! What a nightmare - I thought my place was bad :-O
Sounds exactly like my situation with marble dropping
Thank you 🙏🏻
Going through this sht now first time ever.
My condolences. I've been there.
Ditto.
@@spocksmusic this video was seven years ago ago
😂😂😂😉😉 dude crack me up, " hello welcome too......" never got a chance 2 talk, lol
I did the next weekend - but it was annoying to have to wait that long.
I have lived next to a crowded house of low intelligent interbred people and so I fully sympathise. I am moving and taking into consideration to re insulate all walls and floors to ruduce my stress coping with the noises.
Sounds like they are stomping and dropping marbles on the floor nonstop.
Yes. Some kind of kid's game like jacks . . . but maybe the kid is just bouncing a marble.
Please tell me you have moved because even mine don’t get this loud
Actually THEY moved. Much better now.
I feel bad for laughing but everytime he goes to talk the neighbors just start slamming shit even more 😂
That is gang stalking harassment.
Brian Lol same
😂😂😂 I had to laugh to keep from crying lol I feel his pain but thank God it’s not this bad.
🤣 I would grab a 🔨 hammer and break that cieling
I would lose my mind with that!!!
Am also facing lot of problem due to noise from ceiling
sounds like an intro to a horror movie
For me and my family, our downstairs naighbours is super noisy but in our last house the upstairs naighbours were so noisy!
Yep. Been there!! Fortunately, our noisy neighbours eventually moved. It's been quiet ever since.
It sounds like theirs 15 epileptics having a seizure up there
Hahahah funny that one well done
:)
Ha!
Oh my God... The kids upstairs.. this is terrible, I feel so sorry for you. Dealing with same problem. How are you doing now?
I have one that wait till I sit at the piano and walk walks in circles. What could he be doing.
Sorry. Maybe they just don't like music. I had a neighbour that would pace whenever I played a wind instrument.
@@spocksmusic Could be. He paces around unless he is tired or sleeping. i get peace during the day when he is at work.
Cheers!
No, fortunately they moved and the new neighbours are . . . . well, normal. Much quieter.
I'm in the same boat as you, I'm out here in London and many of the older apartments have thin ceilings so I constantly here what my neighbours get up to from what's sounds like a couple Olympic marathons going down all the way to them yelling contests in Arabic, sadly we don't get to choose our neighbours
This is exactly what I hear every night at 9:30 then, the television is loud af until midnight.....ugh!
You have to wonder what the FUCK they're doing up there!!!
It was some kind of party - maybe a birthday party for one of the three kids. Mind you it was pretty much like that without the parties too.
WTF.. this is just ridiculous. They should know that THEIR floor is another person's fucking ceiling!! I'm kinda having same problem with my upstairs neighbors too, it really drives me nuts
The worst part is the kids playing ball in the house. We weren't allowed to do that when we were kids - and now I see why.
How is your living situation now ? I hope you haven't had to deal with this since
No. They moved a few years ago and all the neighbours since have been so much better. The occasional annoyance - but that is to be expected. Nothing like that "extreme" family. (mostly nice people - just very, very loud)
All apartments and houses with inadequate paper ceilings and walls should be demolished. And the noisy neighbours buried with to them.
Its annoying.
video made my day.
Cool.
I know your frustration. anytime any day! Problem is complaints lead to retaliation and property damage in my condo. Thankfully it's currently up for sale after 2 years of noise.
Good luck. I hope you get some piece and quiet soon.
Get concealed carry. File a police report is someone vandalizes your belongings.
Yep Rush song I think I'm going bald!!!!!!!
Its been years. Have you escaped this?
Yes. They moved a couple of years after I made this video. All the other neighbours have been wonderful.
I feel you....that's times of our life that we can't get back. Idiots literally take months off of our lifespans with their inconsiderate shit.
Duck tape a back massager to ceiling, turn on full blast! Trust me..
They had 3 kids under 5 years old and that day was some kind of kid's party..
i have same every day 24/7 all day
I am very sorry.
Sounds like a war zone.
Sometimes it did.
2:40 why did you freak out suddenly?
The bang was loud.
Children are the worse, dealing with them right now
My neighbors are the same way.
I'm sorry to hear that. My wife and I went through three years of this but they eventually moved. I hope that happens for you.
I feel bad for you, man. No person deserves that treatment, especially from a neighbour. That's mental torture.
Ah, I see they must be using the metal barrels and marbles. XD
Yes, and bowling with them. Fortunately, they eventually moved.
I feel your pain. Fortunately for me, my noisy neighbours moved. New neighbours in a month. . . . . .
Well i hope for u that they will be better neighbors this time :p
Me too.
People who can only afford an apartment have no business starting a family in my opinion.
You poor man sounds like my neighbours lived above you before they moved above me . I have the same problem maybe just not as bad . The way I deal with them is blast em out with some sounds ,not ideal but it will give you a little sense of justice .
. . . . we just found out that they should be moving next month - we can't wait.
This is pure mental torture.
It was
I am very sorry buddy I thought mine are the worst. I hope your living situation is now better.
Good reason not to live in a flat, especially when you have a herd of elephants above you.
Boy, we miss our old house.
If we could find a house we could afford we would definitely move.
Omg sounds like my neighbors.
I'm very sorry for you. I know what that's like.
My upstairs neighbor does this too, at 3:00 PM, and 3:00 AM....
I am going through the exact same thing right now!
Omg that is just insane. I thought my apartment was bad. I use white noise videos on RUclips and play through my tv. I go to College so it helps me so I can at least study.
A few people are doing that now. I got lucky - my noisy neighbours moved. Good luck with your situation.
@@spocksmusic you must've been rejoicing when your past upstairs neighbors moved out. I really think that it should be mandatory to sound proof apartment dwellings. I do really appreciate white noise. If you experience future neighbors that disturb your peace.. try white noise videos played through a stereo system.
Good God Michel! I'm so sorry. I don't know how you can live with that. I thought I had noisy neighbors. (Yelling, screaming pounding) But yours is so close and soooo loud. I feel for you buddy. Take care.
Thank you . . . and they've been on vacation for three weeks. It's been wonderful.
Sounds like no insulation in the ceiling
No, none at all. If anything, the empty chamber makes it louder. Fortunately, they eventually moved.
Good noisey buggers is it quiet now
Damn do u live under a rollercoaster ?
My old neighbors every night would do this .
I feel your pain.
It's not every night for us - but often. Next week is spring break so the kids will be home all day for 9 days straight. Oyvay!
Sounds like horses galloping
I have tried talking to this person about it nicely but it seems things have gotten worse over the last couple years.
get yourself a house, that is our next move, no more noisy flat living which we have experienced in all.
There's not much one can do but hope (or buy lottery tickets). . . . Some day we hope to move . . . . . . . . .
they have to be playing ping pong that would explain that bouncing ruckus
This is why am breaking my lease and got me an upstairs UNIT!
