It’s A brilliant story of meter Guage Staem locomotive which are abandoned now and stationed at Mirpur khas
5 steam locomotives are still there, these are 2 cylinders steam locomotives of Pakistan railways and worked till 2005,

PR should repair those steam loco and run in amusement/safari/other parks all over Pakistan to attract tourists like other western countries.

In 1892 Hyderabad to Shadipalli broad Gauge was laid. Then in 1902 Hyderabad to Shadipalli was converted from Broad Gauge to Metre Gauge. In 1935 loop line from Mirpur Khas to Pithora came up as well as Nawabshah branch. They were administered under Jodhpur Railway. Sindh Mail famous Metre Gauge train was running from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad Jn via Shadipalli and Palanpur Jn. Mere paas Sindh Mail Metre Gauge train ka poora time Table hai. Sindh Mail Ahmedabad Jn se Dilli Mail ke saath Jud ke chalti thi. Phir Marwar jn per Dilli Mail alag ho jaati thi aur Hyderabad jaane waale dibbe Sindh Mail banke aage ki aur badhte thein. Sindh Mail carried Restaurant Car coach for both Hindus and Mohameddan Passengers, as mentioned in British era Time tables. Mirpur Khas per breakfast load hota thaa. Hyderabad pahunch ne ka waqt Mail ka 11.30 baje ko tha. Via Hyderabad Jn through BG trains of NWR would connect with Karachi and Quetta. Poora safar Ahmedabad Jn se Hyderabad tak leke Metre Gauge per tha. It was all Jodhpur Railway from Luni Jn onwards.
Partition ke baad bhi Ajmer se Hyderabad tak through carriages Munabao ke raaste chalaa karte thein. Yeh sann 1950s ki baat hai. 1960 ke dashak mein Hyderabad se Mirpur Khas Jn waale section ko convert kar diya aur Broad Gauge per tabdeel kar diya.
Aacha video banaaya. I wish aap ke taraf MG tracks restore ho jaaye. If Nawabshah track is restored i think lahore side can get linked with Thar.

Immensely enjoyed your video! I traveled on this meter gauge line upto Udaipur in Rajhastan via Jodhpur way back in early 1960’s , I was a 10 year old child at that time,you have rekindled my memories of years gone by.

That was a great coverage, first about the style railway station, with old vintage type lower platform level and meter gauge and broad gauge lines moving parallel, was an unique concept there, here we have some stations in western railways and North eastern railway having the same type of orientation of two gauges lines in parallel...and sad to see the steam locomotives in this state, I hope that PR in coming days will preserve this locomotive and could also use this line for heritage passenger purpose.... Anyways great video sir....

Nabarun Biswas. All ceased in today's time.. I was lucky to have covered WR, NWR in its prime diesel days. I stood at the gate of my boogie during MG- NG sections between Ahmedabad and Mehsana jn section. NER MG is fully abandoned now. Yes the heritage section is spared. Varna voh zamaana bhi tha jab IR jaisa koi nahi tha. Variety of gauges, locomotives and rolling stock. Kya Nahi tha. Train journeys in IR were like sapno ka safar. Lucknow to North East region itself, comprised of many gauges. Even in GC days, BG trains met MG trains at various junctures. Today I see PR train videos, I remember my 80s, 90s and 2000s IR.
@@abhikalia4707 yes you are ri8, harsh reality cannot be denied, but luckily WR and small part of NER has still some MG train operational...this mg trains with legendary ydm4 locomotive will sooner or later be part of history😞

Full of forest through katarnia Ghat wildlife and Dudwa national park. Reversal at Mailani. Sips of tea at Mailani. Golden memories. NER MG, especially the Lakhimpur Kheri district and Pilibhit region are heaven on Railway journeys in India. No words to describe its beauty. Ek zamaane mein Agra Fort se poora Gonda juda hua tha metre Gauge mein. Can u imagine Avadh Tirhut Mail on Metre Gauge system covered 1500 km from Lucknow jn to Gauhati in 44 hours. All the way only steam engines. NER, NFR were Mecca for MG in India. I have tons of old timetables to relive Glory days of Railways. Pakistan side MG is restricted but Bangladesh side is still 90 percent MG.

I use to travel from Karachi to Mirpur Khas & from Mirpur Khas to James Abad (now Kot Ghulam Muhammad), leaving from Karachi in the evening and reaching James Abad midnight that was a golden time with high social values and close to the nature.
