About Love and London:
I'm Jess, I've lived in London for many years, and this channel is a London travel guide for anyone visiting the city that wants to experience it like you live here. Beyond talking about the usual London attractions, I show you some of the cooler things to do in London, that most travel guides don't mention. Watch my videos and you'll feel like you've got a Londoner friend telling you the best kept secrets in the city.
Mentioned in the video:
Pavilion Cafe, Victoria Park
Arepa and Co, Bethnal Green and Haggerston
Chinese Tapas House, Chinatown
Club Mexicana, Carnaby and Seven Dials Market
Purezza, Camden
Ive lived in London all my life and you are introducing me to places I didnt even know were there. Have you considered getting in touch with the Mayor's office? You are doing great work promoting London.
Thank you! I always love hearing that from Londoners :) Thanks so much for watching!
No doubts London has always been one of the best places for tourists attraction, great people, food/resturants, pubs the list goes on. GREAT FOR VACATION TOO. Left there recently, definitely would recommend.
@@steffan683 You think so right? …. I haven’t been to London tho but my family and I plan on spending our next vacation there next year
@@saanvi848 Mine wasn’t even a planned vacation, I made profits from an investment so I decided to take myself out, toured around London and dined at some of their top restaurants such as The Araki, and Dinner by Heston to name a few. I really enjoyed myself there, you should definitely try it too.
@@saanvi848 London is such an easy place to visit if you speak english, and it is not a lot of different from what people from Japan or the US might be used to. It is one of the most tourist friendly city in Europe
If you are in Victoria Park on a Sunday, there is a food market in the Park with a wide variety of food stalls. On Saturdays, it is a short walk along Regent's Canal to Broadway Market. I've been to Arepa and like it too - recommend the fried chicken.
Whenever I get out to London, I stop by Chilango in Islington (relatively close to the tube station Angel). Chilango is a Mexican burrito buffet. It's owned by Mexicans.... so a decent dash of authenticity is guarranteed. My favorite is grilled shrimp (prawn) burritos with a lot of their own in-house hot sauce. Have a nice day, Tomas (Prague CZ)
This sounds great--thanks for mentioning!
Very good to know !! If Mexican is the owner ,it must be authentic & delicious !! I hope they don't cook it with lard as the most authentic Mexican restaurants do use lard as I am a vegetarian also even if I were eating meat ,I wouldn't be too happy about that anyway ! Lol.
I am gonna Google that place ! Thanks ! 💜🥁🐉🎵🎤🎶💞
I went to London next week, and I have to say it, I have been loving your Videos, can`t get enough of them, definitely. I really had fun, going to your top tips, from food to just walking around, just waiting for the next opportunity to explore other London's nooks and crannies. Really appreciated!
So glad to hear it Marcelo! Glad you had a great time :)
When I was there a couple of weeks ago, to my surprise I found good and inexpensive places to eat very near me (Earl's Court). Lebanese, Chinese, English, Italian, and even American fast food (which seemed to be better quality than it is in America). When I go back, I'll do some exploring for other food... assuming I can master the public transportation there.
Nice! thanks for watching
I have been Vegetarian for 35 Years, and some of the food highlighted, looks so delicious. My Love of Cheese holds me back from taking the next step. I have not tasted any Vegan Cheese, that reaches the satisfaction i achieve from the Dairy types. I guess with more people being drawn to Veganism, producers will up their game at the behest of a substantial increase for plant based food. I use Quorn a lot,for Stews,Chilli`s and Spag Bol.
Excellent video Jess. I have to visit the Pavilion in Victoria Park for breakfast when i finally return to London this November after my cancelled trip last May .
Glad you enjoyed it Douglas, thank you so much for watching ❤️
Thanks for showing food from my country Venezuela, Cachapas, arepas, thanks so much!!
SO YUMMY!!! Thanks for watching!
Super cool, looks delicious!
Thanks for watching!
Love all your videos! Thank you for all the valuable information! Are you still making videos?
Yup! Just shot a new one on Friday. Thanks so much for watching Lori!
i love club mexicana!! i agree on the sauce in the cheeseburger taco, its addicting! i also will need to check out Purezza at some point
SO addicting. Thanks for watching Amelie!
Good watch. I will be in London the first week+ of September and I needed some new places to try. I already have two Sri Lankan places, Hoppers is one and I have been there several times, so this will make three.
Love Hoppers. Thanks for watching Jeff, enjoy !
I love you take on this, me I do burgers, pizza and greasy breakfasts. Your options look far healthier than what I normally choose.
Thanks for watching! :)
Maison Bab /Le Bab is an amazing spin on kebabs and is quite cheap as well
I just filmed there the other day, will be in the video coming out in two weeks! Thanks for watching Omer ❤️
I remember few months ago I got a nice lunch at Toranomon, Tokyo, with appetiser, salad, main, dessert and coffee for 500 Yen. The video just tell me a big a gap in price among different countries.
Everyone knows Wetherspoons is where it’s at for a cheap meal in London.
On a more serious note, I recommend E Pellicci in Bethnal Green.
Yeah I still need to get to E Pellicci! On the (very long) list of places I still have to try
@@loveandlondon Yep, it’s definitely worth a visit. The staff alone are what makes it incredible.
Wish I could have you plan my 5 day London visit in October.
Here's a much more affordable option... get my 3-Day London Itinerary, then pair it with The Casual Tourist Guide to West London, and the one for North London. It's basically like I have planned your trip for you ;) All my guides are at: shop.loveandlondon.com
I still recommend Tayyabs in Whitechapel. Just fill yourself up with starters and ignore the main course.
Couldn't find their prices but menu looks great--thanks for tip!
@@valenciawhitehead9589 It is very good value for money. But just stick to starters and get a nan or rice or so. It will fill you up. Best in a group as the majority of starters are multiples. Enjoy
Great video thank you 🙏😜
Thanks for watching!
thanks for the video and information
Thanks for watching!
A good Italian restaurant is pizzeria portifino in Richmond it’s cheap and it’s amazing
Can you recommend places that are affordable but are classic English food?

It's a big part of what we do!
Great timing! I’m moving from Chicago to London next month & getting freaked out hearing how expensive it is in London.
Thanks for sharing!
Love the video as always and will be trying all 5 :) x
Thank YOU for watching !! Good luck with the big move !
It is similar to Chicago for day to day goods. You'll find some things cheaper
hi~ Jess , your video help me travel to London before the pandemic, I can't wait to travel again in summer and keep all your amazing advice in mind. And so happy to see the number of followers increasing . YA~

My favourite cheap eat are beigels at brick lane.

Never expected to see Sri Lankan food and really suprised at your first pick
LOVE Sri Lankan!
Thank u jess
I really like all of your videos since London us my favourite city! Your videos are soo relaxing, right to the point and so so helpful 😊
Glad you enjoy them, thank you so much!
Definitely a must-keep video! Thanks Jess! ❤️🌟
Arepas are I think non-gluten as is much of Venezuelan cuisine. (The Venezuelan restaurant here in Montreal called Arepera fully is). A good bet I think for those who can’t eat gluten? And delicious for everyone, just like your very interesting vegan pizzeria.
Nice! Thanks for watching Frank, appreciate it.
How to get in touch with you when in london? Seeing all your videos sitting back in India. And visiting london once a year. Hope I end up meeting you someday ❤️
Unfortunately Jess doesn't offer meet ups but if you see her, be sure to say hi!
I click this video so fast and I will be moving from New providence, Bahamas to the UK for good in one week time super excited I can't wait to see and try out new things
Hey there. I found you on Tiktok. Can I ask if you do not mind answering, what would you suggest a person staying in Kensington use to get around?
Just as anywhere else in London... public transport! :) Watch this video to see what options there are: ruclips.net/video/raF0-wkJrqU/видео.html
Hi Jess, I’m just discovering your channel. I’m usually in London every December, except for last year of course. I’m planning on being there this December. What are things like now in London in this Covid world we’re living in?
Basically back to normal at the mo!
Thanks 🙏🏻 I’ll give them a shot next week while visiting the city!
Enjoy! Hope you'll give my Bermondsey Questo a go as well!
I’m supposed to go in two months , how’s the tourism doing ? Are tourist attractions open ?
yup!
Any thoughts on where to find really good fish and chips?
Poppies!
@@loveandlondon thank you!
I'm going to London in a week, just started to watch ur videos. Love them!❤
Thanks so much KJ. Hope you have a great time ♥️♥️
Jess, I love the video! I'm hoping to get back to London when (if) things calm down a bit more travel wise for work, and will definitely try some of these places out.
I've enjoyed your channel since I met you last year when you were giving video tips to others in my company (I work for Werner S. and helped you out with a little tech support!).

Hi Ron!!! Nice to hear from you!! Hope you can make it over soon. Thanks for your kind words and for watching, hope you're doing ok ❤️
Great video
Thanks for watching Travis, glad you enjoyed it !
Hey Jess, can you make a video about gluten free places in London? Thk u
Hi Simone, all of our London guides have lots of GF options and all recommendations that are GF-friendly have a little symbol to let you know! shop.loveandlondon.com
Hi, Jess. No fish&chips good and cheap in London Area?... Thanks for the tips.
This isn't a list of the ONLY good cheap eats! I don't eat fish but if you want fish and chips I usually recommend Poppies. Thanks for watching.
Good video. With me, when traveling, I might get impatient with someone deciding where we should eat. Traveling costs $$$$, and wasting time deciding on this is not good. If you're wondering what happened to me, you might find me at McDonald's having breakfast before sightseeing. It's low risk. You know the food and it's cheap. Ronald McDonald will never let me down. :)
Oh noooo Mcdonald's... shoulda just stayed home! I challenge you to branch out so you can support small local businesses and expand your taste palette :)
@@loveandlondon Thanks. I'll try to expand my culinary experiences beyond McDonald's. It will take some work, but maybe I can round up the courage for some KFC. :)
Me watching to see food in London but haha frst place had my local food
nice!! thanks for watching
that “mexican place” is American-mexican 🥳🥳🥳
I'm not sure I'd even say it's American mexican as they do quirky flavours like cheezburger! Mexican-inspired maybe 😀
yum
This same Jian Bian in China is only 5 Yuan [Chinese money],and that is less than 1 pound !
Oh I bet! That's London for ya! Thanks for watching :)
Am the first one
Wow 1st place location looks in a forst
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️😋😋
Thanks for watching Robert!
Oh man !! How did I miss this video !!? Lol. A totally vegan Italian restaurant ,FINALLY !!! I've always wished for it for more than 2 decades !!! LOLLOLLOL 👍👍👍😆 I am not a vegan ,a vegetarian ( though I was once a vegan for 17 years ! ) ! I'll definitely visit there with mom when we'll be going to Wales & England in the near future !!! Thank you for this FABULOUS NEWS & VIDEO !!! LOVE LOVE LOVE !!! 💘 LOL.😋
👍👍👍💜🥁🐉🎵🎤🎶💕💞
Hi, why you're not a vegan anymore, after being one for17 years? thanks.
@@londressinvisalsv There are several reasons ,but all comes down to health/ medical concern !! I was a hard core ,pure vegan for 17 years !!
Basically ,when you eat only clean foods ,it's great for about 10 years ( I was feeling real great !!! ) ,but started a little sluggy( not ill ) & trips to the bathrooms became significantly increased !! If you know what I mean !? That was really ruining the quality of life in a way !! As you know ,being vegan means all plant diet that is meaning so much fibers & grains are consumed !! As you know that fibers take bad things out of your systems ! That's fantastic if you are eating bad things to your body like meats !! But ,I wasn't obviously !,then that got me thinking !! " What is happening to my body if I was taking so much fibers & grains & not eating any bad stuff !?" You know fibers & grains scrape the gut linings !? The stomach walls !! So there !! That alerted me & realized that wasn't healthy at all & the fibers were taking good stuffs out of my systems ,too !!! 😱😰 as I wasn't eating bad things ( except for some man-made highly processed foods like fake hams / meats ,fake cheese ,veggie patties with processed proteins ) ,so I got worried that I might had been lacking nutrients !! I KNOW I AM RIGHT on this !! When you go no.2 about 6,7 times a day ,that can't be really that healthy ,either !!! Again that's because all you eat are plants & grains = fibers !!= bulky poops !! And fibers produce poops more !
Also being a woman ,we naturally need iron !!! I've got heavy period issues all of my life & I tend to faint since I was a kid !! So ,this was another major concern !! ALL VEGAN LADIES SHOULD TAKE LIQUID IRON !!! And the non heme iron ( plant source ) is hard to absorb !!
Another concern was B12 !!! Very important !! Some vegans say we can get B12 from plants so on...that's yes/ no !! Yes, we can from seaweeds & nutritional yeast ,I believe ! But those aren't adequate as it's not the right kind of B12 we need for a healthy brain & body !! So vegans need to take some sublingual B12 ! But,yet ,again there are two major concerns with it ,too ! 1 is the one mentioned previously ! 2 is chlorella & B12 supplements are very popular ,but the recent study shows that is actually toxic ( the combination ) !!! 😱 That I didn't know back then !!
So,those are my reason not to be a vegan anymore !! But,don't get me wrong ! Vegan diet is definitely the right thing for our animal friends & planet & our health for about 10+ years !! It reduces the risks of so~ many kinds of diseases !! Heart diseases ,kidney diseases ,cancers & diabetic !!! And you'll feel so much energy !!! Your skin will be radiant !!! You'll be youthful !!!( if you smoke or drink a lot ,it won't help too much ,though I bet it still helps your health by detoxifying !! )
I hope these will help ! Sorry for my novel !
I had met several aids patients who survived more than 10 years after their life expectancy that their doctors gave them by eating vegan foods !!! So ,yes vegan diets help !!! And it is a great thing !! But it has the issues that I have mentioned here ! So , I had come to my own conclusion that being a vegan for 10 years has the most health benefits & after that it is not so healthy ! So I had become a vegetarian ! Now for 13 years & I'll never eat flesh again !!
I have more stuffs ,but it'll be a long story !! Lol. So I stop here !! I always wonder why no other vegans talk about those ! Those vegan celebrities aren't really 100 % vegans !! If they are ,they'll be talking about what I had gone through !!! Lol. Because I was 100 % vegan for that long time !!! MEN might get more benefits from vegan diet !!! But that's another story ! Lol.
Enjoy! Thanks for watching ❤️❤️❤️
@@loveandlondon HI there ! Thanks so much !! I think you are really good ! I love watching your videos !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎵🎶💞
