- I am so excited to have finished one of my long-time dream cosplays, Rose's boarding suit from Titanic. And I got to wear it on the Queen Mary!
In this video, I am finishing up all the last little things, including making the dickey, adding some last-minute tweaks to my giant hat, and doing a whole lot of hand-sewing on of buttons and closures.

Hey, has anybody else ever noticed how all of Rose’s outfits just seem to suit Rebecca so nicely? It’s like the cut and the style are made for her. Still remembering the swim dress. Swoon!
Aww thanks!
My grandfather was a steward on the Queen Mary. You are walking in his footsteps.
So cool!
I watched all of the videos. As usual, I am just floored by your attention to detail and your patience! I would never be able to pull this off. Bravo Rebecca!
Thank you!
That hat is freaking amazing!! You're going to have to make a bespoke hat box for it to keep it safe. I think Costuming Drama did a hatbox video.
And the suit is fabulous too. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks!
10:34 oh my God Rebecca! I saw the pictures on Instagram but seeing you in motion just brings this well I mean it literally brings it to life! You look amazing and the whole thing together is just incredible!
Thank you!
wow! Fabulous outfit, with the perfect backdrop of the Queen Mary. Great work, Rebecca!
Thanks!
Thanks for the hat recommendation and construction tips. I'm making a Gainsborough type hat and your videos were very helpful. I'll try to tag you when I put up finished pictures.
Nice! Good luck with your project!
The suit looks GLORIOUS on you! So elegant!
Thanks!
Great job! Your Rose's boarding suit looks perfect!
Thank you!
turned out awesome!! great job with all your hard work
Thanks!
Everything turned out so well & flattering!
Thanks!
Absolutely stunning! Your make up is also just perfect. Thank you for sharing. :)
Thanks!
Okay to the like, 9 dislikes and 1 guy complaining : People have written fiction, inducing romance fiction, about real earth tragedies for hundreds of years, and the purpose of this brand of fiction in society is to help people cope and process, as well as relate to and remember the victims. "Love in the time of cholera" - "gone with the wind" as well as hundreds of thousands of stories set during either of the world wars, "take what you can carry", "honeytrap", all the Anastasia movies the list goes on and on.
They are made to help the public pop hivemind cope, and that's okay.
Unless the fiction somehow debases the victims or portrays them as false victims there is very little evidence to reflect that historical fiction is disrespectful - Like someone else said i think this is a lovely tribute and memorial work of art.
I'm so glad I got to see this in person because it is just beautiful! I didn't get an up-close look when you wore it on Thursday evening, but from a distance, it was stunning! You did an incredible job with all of the details!
Thank you! (And it was so wrinkly by Thurs evening that it's probably good you didn't see it too closely! 😂) 🩷
Everything is absolutely gorgeous
Thanks!
Well done!! Glad you had an amazing time.
Thanks!
This is so awesome!
Thanks!
Beautiful, stunning, gorgeous! Your recreation is spot on and perfection! Especially the hat - I have such a weakness for big, lovely hats - They really do complete an outfit; don't they?
Thanks! And they totally do!
Your cosplay turned out beautifully! I have to laugh at the straight pin being stuck inside -- the number of antique garment videos I've seen with random pins means it was typical -- so your stuck pin is period!
Thanks! And yep, I've had a couple antiques with pins stuck in them too!
You did a fantastic job recreating this gorgeous outfit! You're jaw-dropping beautiful!😍
Thank you!
Congrats on completing what is one of you best costumes! You did so well with all the limitations the lack of footage/photos/supplies threw at you
Thank you!
uuummm... This is wonderful! Can't stop smiling.
Thanks! ☺️
Ooh, its lovely!
Thanks!
Another amazing project! Your talent is incredible 🧵
Thanks!
Love, love, love this Rebecca! It looks so good and you are totally rocking it. Well done. All of that effort has certainly paid off.
Thanks!
Good call on the mesh in the hat, foam gives you hot spots where it contacts your head that feel like presure spots. The top of my steel medieval helmet is lined with that firm foam for my protection (I get hit in the helmet a lot), but then I've got a really soft squishy spongy foam in the top so it sits in the right place vertically and I still see out the eye-holes without hot spots or pressure spots....
Lovely job on the coat, the stripes came out gorgeous. And the hat ribbon is so pefectly extra!
Oh woah, good to know! And thanks!
You look just like Rose!! Not only that but I feel transported in time!! I LOVE it!! 😍😍😍❤❤❤
Aww thanks!
@@LadyRebeccaFashions You're welcome! ❤
Absolutely love the hat! 😍 The whole outfit looks amazing
Thanks!
Job/Fun Well Done!!!!! You look gorgeous, Hope you had the best time!
Thank you!
That dress really suits you
Beautiful 😊
Thanks!
It’s stunning! You look lovely
That's totally beautiful Rebecca! 😍
Thanks!
Good call on the collar trim. The points of the triangular lace make a closer match to the diamond trim than scallops or ball trim at 'talk to camera' distance; though, from 'talk to people' distance, I'm sure any dainty trim would pass.
W❤W! Absolutely stunning result! You look beautiful and elegant just like you belonged amongst the first class Titanic folks. Thanks for sharing this with us. It’s definitely an outfit I’d make if I ever had the resources and skills.
Thanks!
Turned out beautifully!
Thanks!
Beautiful dress, beautiful ship, beautiful you!
💜💜💜💜
Magnificent!
Thanks!
I loooove the form of the jacket. It works so well and I'm very tempted to take heavy inspiration for the coat I want to make. One day
Gorgeous. Glad you had a fun time.
Thanks!
Looking goooooooood Rebecca!!!!!
Thanks!
Yay dream cosplay!!
Phenomenal, such beautiful shots of such a fabulous project.
Thank you!
I love it when you’re making costumes. Sorry not so much the dolls replicas. Although they’re nice, you do wonderful. But I prefer this kind of stuff. We learn when you do it. Thank you so much well done take a bow
Thanks! That's why I don't do a ton of doll sewing - it never performs as well.
Love it! The Dickey came out great, too!
Thanks!
Well made & so beautiful! So many great details! I hope you do wear it again since you look so stunning in it!
Thanks! I'll be wearing it again soon to visit the Titanic exhibit in Seattle!
It looks FABULOUS!!!
🤭 I have also trapped a pin in a dress, before.
Thanks! Even some of my antiques have had pins stuck in them. 😉
@@LadyRebeccaFashions Nice to know that it's not a recent problem 😆
Fantastic!!!!
Thanks!
It’s so beautiful ❤❤
OMGOSH so FABULOUS
Thanks!
Absolutely fabulous! I really enjoyed this series, can't wait to see what you make next!
Thanks! I'm still torn on if I want to go back to the purple silk outfit next, or throw in a nice small project. 😉
It turned out great!! (Of course😊) you must be very pleased!!😍😍❤❤❤
Thanks!
Omg Rebecca you look amazing!!! What a gorgeous suit 😍. Idk what else to say other than wow!
Thank you! 🩷
You sneaky kids, trying all the door knobs. Haha. S'okay, though. When I visited the QM ('73-ish) I snuck on through an employees' entrance and up a freight elevator. You guys definitely had more fun! and did it with style!
Isn't that a dream? Smashing as ever.....
Thank you!
❤ This has to be one of the most amazing series on RUclips I have ever watched! I felt like I was with you through the whole journey, including on the Queen Mary. Splendid. Just splendid.
Aww thank you! 🩷
You look so beautiful and elegant. Great job!
Thank you!
its beautiful!!
Thanks!
Outstanding job. And if someone looks that closely at your collar then they deserve to see that overlap. Truthfully i didn't even notice the overlap
Haha thanks!
@@LadyRebeccaFashions my grandparents use to run a fabric store until the 1990s and I learned to sew from them. My grandmother only had an eighth grade education and every time my grandmother made a mistake sewing she always said if they look close enough they deserve to see the mistakes... A mistake is just character in a garment or quilt.
You look stunning and truly an echo of the past.
Thanks!
This was so very beautiful in person. I hope you had a good time CoCo. It seemed every time I saw you, you were pretty busy. Thanks for signing my bingo card!
This one is so close to the stick pin!

Thank you! I always feel like I'm running around everywhere at CoCo. I hope you had lots of fun!
This is very elegant and beautiful. :) Wire cutters? - to cut off the stray evil pin?
Thanks! And yep, now that I'm home I can do that. I just have to find the pin again!
Absolutely stunning job! Amazing! You did so good! ❤❤ it’s so beautiful 😍
Literally can’t say anything else but how good this is 😂🎉❤
Thank you! 🩷
Love it!
Thanks!
I went to the Titanic museum in Belfast NI, it was so very very interesting.
I love the Titanic series. which one are you going to make next? Thank you for sharing your amazing work.
Thanks! Tbh, I'm not sure if/when I'll do more from the movie - I've made almost all my favorites (and I don't have the patience for the dinner dress beading).
Congratulations, Rebecca! It's absolutely perfect! You are a great dressmaker!!! I hope you recreate other Rose looks! How about that marvelous jump red dress?... 😉😃❤
Thank you! The dinner dress is actually my next favorite, but I don't think I have the patience for that beading.
You look amazing ❤
Thanks!
I squeal at each of your final products, but this one feels extra special.
Thanks! ☺️
I also have clothing that will forever contain stray pins 🤣. You are not alone ❤
I hope to meet you some random day in Seattle…I live about 35 miles south of SeaTac Airport, so not far from Seattle. Also, next time Port Townsend has an event…
Ok I have to know what hat you got and what you used for paint!!! I love this so much.
It's this hat, though it says it's currently available (there might be something similar though) amzn.to/3WPzv2M and it's tulip fabric spray paint from Joann's.
This is gorgeous! Like always! I made her sink dress after watching your video and getting inspired! I kind of want to do the suit too! Do you have any plans to do Rose's dinner dress as well?
Thanks! I don't at this time, just because all the embroidery and beading seems beyond my patience.
ACE!
In the future, when you need extra seam allowance on a narrow trim, could you machine stitch it onto another piece of lace or ribbon or something that could act as the seam allowance?
Probably? Tbh, I've never thought of that before!
That cosplay turned out well. Since you weren't wearing a full shirt under your jacket, were you wearing the jacket and dickey directly over a princess slip?
Thanks! And yep -- much cooler that way.
Can you post a puck of how you attached the lace? I am about to tackle a similar project
I just whip stitched it from right underneath the edge of the collar. (Sorry, I don't have a pic)
Your cosplay was so beautiful and really flattered your figure. You looked truly lovely. I am going to suggest you go to Etsy and look up counting pins. These are for cross stitch, but you can get an idea of what could become a hat pin. I am sure if you contacted the makers, they would be delighted to make you a hat pin to your specifications. You can ask. They can be a bit pricey, but for such a hat and such a costume, I would splurge. There are a couple of designers that you could try: My Big Toe Designs. I am sorry, I couldn't find the name of the other shop. I will send it if I can find it. You could also just look up decorative hat pins on Etsy. Just a few suggestions. Yo may already know about these.
Thanks!
Lovely work….i hope you wear this again you find more fun shoes, you know those impractical uncomfortable “fashion’ shoes you only wear for aesthetics….
Yeah, I knew I needed comfortable shoes for wandering the Queen Mary.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions I figured as much comfort first…
Wow you are the Queen of hard work pays off you look sensational congratulations on making your dream come true 👌👏😊🪄🪡🧵
Thank you!
