"Russia's most significant opposition leader for the past decade, Alexei Navalny, has died in an Arctic Circle jail, the prison service has said.
President Vladimir Putin's most vociferous critic, he was serving 19 years on extremism charges that were widely seen as politically motivated.
Navalny was moved to one of Russia's toughest penal colonies late last year.
His wife Yulia has appealed to the international community "to help punish this regime."

No one doubts it, you're right. But proof should be obtained before heads of state just declare what happened without actually knowing anything. Biden making that declaration is just as bad as any slander or lies that Russia or China has said about us.
And it IS possible that he died of natural causes, even likely, if the reports on his health are at all accurate, he had serious liver issues.
This is the perfect case and reason for Trump NOT being allowed total immunity!!!

I recently read an article that was a list of potential successors to Putin.
It was made in 2022 because Prigozhin was on it.
Navalny was also on it, as it wasn’t just a list of Putin underlings, but also one or two opposition/dissident figures that could’ve optimistically ended up in power.
I literally read it several days before Navalny's death.
I do wonder though if the list will continue to shrink.

We can only hope that the people in charge will actually do better and be rightful examples of morality and standing up for what's right and do good while we also have to work on ourselves and stop putting insane demands on people that we know no one can live up to. We have to be realistic, and to expect this great behavior from others also demands great behavior from ourselves, or we end up being the once with hypocrisy next to our names. And no one wants that.
