I've basically been doing this once a week after each session, but more for practical reasons. It seems the one day I get free a week this time of year it's wet so I just skate anyway and pay for it after. I'm pretty lazy with my bearings though I just rinse the dirt of, shake them in methylated spirits for a while, dab dry and then lube em up a while later. I look forward to the day when I can skate and not have to take everything apart after to clean and dry it bit by bit! Roll on summer.
Haha I totally was going to make a reference to that in this video but forgot to when shooting. That was the first thing I thought when they emailed me lol.
I normally avoid getting white skates because of how gross they get. I might have to reconsider after seeing those skates come back to life. This was very satisfying.
During the hot months, you can leave your liners in direct sunlight, using something to hold the tongues out (or as open as possible), and they can dry by the end of the day
Thanks very helpful. I put my skate liners in the washing machine along with the protections every 2/3 months. I wonder how people can ride their soft boot skates without proper washing 🤭 I avoid soft boot skates for this reason
G'day from Australia mate, just found your channel and I'm going to drag my Roces from 15 years ago from the garage. Mind if I ask what Model your blades and wheels are? I love the style/colour :)
Bruh... I was literally just about to do a "how to clean your white skates" video lol... still gonna do it to show a different technique but still 😔... I'm just jealous... great video bud 🤘
I like the super clean but it can etch metal surfaces that's why they have you dillute it. On bearings I would use the mineral oil and wash of metal parts quickly.
Do you ever wipe off some dirt/dust from your wheels or outside the bearings after a few sessions or is it fine to just leave it until you do a full clean?
Cool video, i didnt know u had one covering this topic, great framework for cleaning the gear, sometimes they need that deep cleaning, very useful tips. Allow me to share my secret weapon i use for cleaning my bearings, i use brake cleaner by autozone (no promotion intended, i just really like it), it cleans them very well and u dont need to rinse after like u do if u use those citrus cleaners. Give it a try some time, im sure youll dig the results. Thx
cleaning starts at 2:55
Crazy how clean they came out!
Cleaning your skates can be oddly satisfying :D
I agree and totally worth it!
a tip : watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Wells Nolan Yup, have been watching on flixzone} for years myself =)
@Wells Nolan yup, have been using Flixzone} for months myself :D
@Wells Nolan yea, I've been watching on flixzone} for months myself :)
I've never detailed my skates. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the video.
It's crazy how new they feel afterwards.

I always wanted to see a bearing cleaning tutorial, thanks!!!
I have a better one on my channel you should check out too!
Wow, I’m gonna have to try this

Lol I was surprised myself.

Also I cringed watching you run water on aluminum frames 😬 then as I typed this I realized..."but they're only aluminum" 😂
Very true. Thanks.
@@danatello8489 Haha all good if you get them dry.
It's a proven fact that clean skates go faster 😏
Really like your videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Really appreciate it!

You and me both. Plus the lack of support.

In this video the boot is an M12 and the wheels are Hydrogen.

Yes that's true but I am using a very diluted ratio and filling flushing bearings after cleaning. I would never use this stuff full strength.
Do you ever wipe off some dirt/dust from your wheels or outside the bearings after a few sessions or is it fine to just leave it until you do a full clean?
I do if I can hear the gristle rubbing while rolling.
I use that on tractors and heavy equipment lol!
Haha sick! Works well on skates!
Does this work for inline hockey skates as well?
Not if it has a built in liner.
New again.... 🇧🇷🤩👏👏👏
chrisfix 🥰🥰
Woah! Wanna clean mine! Lol jk XD but you could make a business on cleaning people's skates
Haha could but naw😉

wait have you ever skated anti or only flat
I have skated anti back in the day and when I first started again.
how to you clean non removable liners?
Not a great way to clean them. Just use shoe powder or oder eaters so they don't stink as bad.
What about the leather ?
Leather cleaner.
. Mmmh cool
Just use WD40 and a sponge and you get your skates 98% white again...
I'll have to try that!
No
they look "dope"? ohh you mean they look great....why not just say that
