Frank ruining that wedding was an ugly truth, a necessary evil. When Debbie was in labor at that hippie compound and she told him she was scared, he got her out of there. Putting Liam in a better school, how he went sober after Monica died (he truly loved her) great character.
It’s an addicts love. I’m very familiar with that type of love. Not very fulfilling. Yes the person loved you but not more then they loved themselves and their drugs and alcohol.
@@alysskennedy8661 I'd agree to some extent. Frank does love his kids still but that is the thing about addiction is its an addiction, it's not very easy to break in fact usually near impossible to break at least in Franks case. He's depressed, alcoholic, does every kind of drug, etc. It's complicated. I dunno if you can "love" an addiction. It just becomes part of your life & a habit. Like smoking cigarettes, you get addicted to it & it just becomes a habit but obviously alcohol & drugs change who you are more drastically.
The sad thing is, Frank is so charismatic and obviously incredibly intelligent. If he hadn't gotten addicted to drugs and alcohol, he would have been SO successful! Plus, William H. Macy is an absolutely brilliant actor! He nailed this role.
That is true. He has stated before that if he hadn’t met Monica, he would probably be just your regular “normal” guy. And would have probably have a better life than he has now
@@TodayTomorrowMusick Oh! Thanks.. I stopped watching it after Fiona left the series! I tried to continue but I really couldn’t stand Debbie as the lead female character!!
Crazy the range Macy has. Plays one of the most meek and mousy characters in Fargo but then one of the most boisterous complex dirtbags and many in-between.
This was really well put together! Minus the muting ? The sound cuts out towards the end. But I love Frank! He’s a total douche but underneath all of his bull shit, he’s very intelligent, is incredibly, irresistibly, & irrevocably in love with Monica the mother of his children.. Even with all of her flaws! And he did love each of his children in his own unique dead beat kind of way!!! ( It’s hard to explain to someone who isn’t close or genetically connected to a person like Frank!) I think Fiona was his favorite..
I love frank deeply, I don't care what other people say there only viewing it superficially when in reality frank is just some bastard who took a bad path into multiple addictions but really deep down he's the sweetest thing anyone can ask for. Yes he fucked many things but he always told the plain cold truth and often helped his kids individually. For instance when he went sober after monica's death and helps fend for his kids when they were threatened to come up with 70k for the meth monica stole, he helped debie get out of the scarry hippie place when she was scared and giving birth. He got liam a great education at a private school. He showed his love for franny by getting a heart tattoo("Frank loves franny"). The one time carl was put in a foster home and he stole things from his gay foster parents and almost went to juvie but frank took all the blame. or when frank told fiona the truth about sean instead of letting her find out on her own and get her heart broken even more. he helped people get to canada when they were in desperate need. I strongly believe that if frank was a total ass hole he would have never done any of those things. What breaks my heart the most is how he got dementia, got lost and he just wanted to see his kids but when he gets back home he just gets pushed around. Yes there was inexcusable things he did as a father however I think he was just irresponsible not a sack of shit. He had rough times at the end and nobody was there to give him a warm goodbye like he deserved. I find him sweet if anything and I deeply wished he had a better end. Love him❤
William Macy is a great actor. But his Frank can't hold a candle to David Threlfall's Frank Gallagher. The original shameless Frank is outstanding. It is also the superior Shameless
The love hate relationship I have for this man... amazing actor..
I thought he was mark hamill

sober? didn't he smoke the entire bag of meth after she died?
@@elijahlacour42 lol, oh Yeah! I forgot about that!
also when he got sober for a few days he was an amazing father (even tho he did it for the money)
THANKYOU!
Also him taking the fall for Carl after they were put in foster care.

After watching the last episode this makes me wanna cry
watching the part from 14:25 - 15:25 it makes me cry. Frank does some pretty unspeakable shit, but deep down..... he does care about his children.

The hospital scene with the little girl is one of my favorite scenes
I've never watched this show but watching these clips is bringing back family trauma.
That hospital scene always makes me cry so hard
Great character!
The writing and acting are superb.
Incredible actor
im so sad that he passed, he was on of the best on shameless…
He passed?? Do you mean the character Frank dies in the series?? Or he the actor really died??

I wish they had a show with Frank and Jim Lahey.
OH MY GOD YESSSSS rip john dunsworth
Tbh I may be the only one but I agree with Frank especially during Fiona’s wedding
One things first sure: Frank is no Jerry Lundegaard
