This was such an interesting comparison! I feel like there are certain media like acrylics where you can get away with using really cheap paints because the expensive paints only bring better pigment and lightfastness! I was planning on getting some acrylic/gouache paints to experiment with and I am now convinced that I should get something cheap and fearlessly enjoy 😁
I like the coat on the left painting and the face on the right painting. (my left and right as a viewer.) Thank you so much for doing this experiment. My personal opinion is that I feel more at ease with a mid grade but I agree with you, some people can do magic with any medium level. Great job!
I have to admit, I like the one better that was done with the cheaper paints - this was a very good and important video - I'm self-taught too and wish I had seen this when I started out - but I have to add, that I find it more noticeable when I work with other things that are cheap: I really notice lower grade paper, canvas, and brushes (especially brushes!) - and yes, you should work with oils more! -
Hi! Thanks for the nice review and enthusiastic vibe ) I recommend ROSA Gallery oil paints (if you can find them where you travel of course): it's a best deal for the buck.

Wow I did not expect these paints to look so similar! 😮 can we just appreciate the cinematography in this though 😍😍
