  • Here, we introduce the buck converter topology and it's two switching operation modes. We derive the relationship between the input voltage, average output voltage, and active switch duty ratio.

    Very nice explanation of working of stepdown dc dc converter under ccm in ss. For deriving the duty ratio equations, it would be easier with the plot of voltage across the inductor.

    Why we used diode in buck converter?

      It provides a discharge path for the inductor which prevents damage on the MOSFET and source.
