I haven’t tried them side by side but I’m pretty sure the 370 setup is more powerful than the Furitek I have in my TRX4M too. Less low end control but a beast overall!
Very cool. But jeesh, now I have to buy one. Being a van there's oodles of space for lights and a sound module. I'm Doing the 370 motor on the scx24 now looking for more top end. Great review! Cheers
The 370 definitely won’t disappoint you on the top end. The van is definitely spacious which is nice. I want to know how the inner fender kit works with it, because that might open up even more usable space!
Definitely tempted by this. I was surprised just how small the stock motor was. I thought it would be at least a 130 or 180. Saying that, the stock motor works pretty well but it does get a little warm and because it's so small, it's optimised for low RPM/torque so it can't really keep walking pace which is something I like crawlers to be able to do. It makes me realise how spoiled I am by the 370 and 2 speed in my WPL C24. Even a 370 motor in isolation is tiny but in almost oversized in the WPL, it barely gets lukewarm even if you drive it hard in the 2nd gear in the grass. I notice the new Evo version of the CR18P chassis has a 130 motor (easy to upgrade to a 180) and 2 speed. I wonder which would be the best all rounder between that and the single speed with 370.... Looking at some advertisements, it looks like they might be suggesting the 2 speed box can accept a 370 motor, too. Not sure if it has two lots of mounting holes perhaps (1 set for 130/180 and 1 set for 370 maybe)
I agree with you on the stock motor being a little on the small side! I don’t spend enough time in dedicated crawling areas for my crawlers not to be able to keep up. That is what inspired me to start this build with the biggest motor I could find. I have yet to have a chance to drive the EVO, but I really want to try one when I can. I think the EVO chassis came out right after I bought this one. That said, I believe the EVO would be the way to go because it would be easier to find replacement parts for the transmission. If I blew up the trans that came with the 370 I think I’d just have to buy the kit again. Even if you couldn’t get a 180 in the EVO (which I’m sure you could) there are hotter 130 motors available or you could always get a Micro Komodo or something! Thanks for watching and thank you for your comment!
@@Bash_TheStampede I just checked a teardown of the evo box, definitely only got 1.2mm screw spacing for 130/180 type. Not sure why some adverts mention it being future proof for larger motors unless they release a different motor mount/end plate down the line. Still, a 130 or 180 would be a step up. Also the possibility of drilling and tapping some new holes in a 370 motor with the same spacing as a 130....getting ahead of myself now though lol. In the UK these models are distributed under the FTX brand and the Evo is incoming so I will see if they begin carrying a complete transmission in their spares catalog and take it from there
I do know that I can buy the full transmission set with a servo here in the US. Companies that carry Hobby Plus are offering it. Looks like it may be so that existing CR18P owners can convert the ones they already have.
You know I actually accidentally flipped this one into the river while making another video and it held up! I was probably just taking it easy with the water in this video to avoid the extra clean up.
The 370 set up is definitely more cost effective then the Furitek stuff. I can't wait to try it

Weirdest Mr beast deepfake I’ve ever seen. Good content 👍
Lmao I’ve heard another person tell me we kinda look alike. Thanks for watching!

Wish the rear windows weren't painted
I usually hate it when they paint back windows but with the design of the stock body I don’t mind it so much. Thanks for watching!
I also just realized that on the CR18P EVO version of the Rock Van the rear windows are clear!
It must not be water proof or water resistant. The tires are. Lol
