    Thanks man for the great videos…I too have truck and I put a nice camper shell on it, added padded outdoor carpet, have a little generator for electricity if I need it. I bring a small expandable tent to put all my stuff so it opens up the camper for sleeping. I have a big trash bag with pillows and blankets and a camping box full of supplies. Do, we camp out at the track. Use the track bathrooms and showers ( if not available we use the old college wet rag bath). We cook at the track so we have good quality protein, vegetables and snacks. A couple of 24 pack waters in a cooler and we are ready. My wife is a wonderful cook and she always has extra food for friends and visitors so all are welcome to visit, relax under a covered tent. Also, by experience the track can get really windy so be sure to put up your tents when you need them and take them down when you don’t. My gang likes to video so they enjoy track days. This cost money for initial set up and supplies but it really makes the track days exciting. PS we always have plenty of Christmas lights hanging around. Looks amazing for all who are in the track family

      You’ve got it all figured out man! It’s definitely a good time and I think the more you do it, the more lavish your setup gets haha.

    A valued addition, for those that are bringing their daily driven cars, or even a car you still owe money on, is track day insurance. This can range from $200-$400 per event.

      That’s a good point for those with newer cars!

    I met a guy once that told me he had a massive addiction to cocaine. Started racing for his “fix” after he kicked the coke.
    Said doing coke was much cheaper. 😂

    If you don't have a truck and trailer, rent a uhaul van and trailer. With that you'll get a covered place to chill during the day, a place to sleep at night with a cot or air mattress, tool and gear storage room for a large cooler for food and room for a grill, etc

      Thanks for watching! Don’t get discouraged! This is definitely on the higher end and can be done for much less. You just gotta figure out where you want to spend and where you want to save!

    Im planning on doing some days at USAir pretty soon here with my EF hatch. It looks like it should be an absolute blast. Its pretty affordable for a single day and seems like a good way to dip my toes into track days.

      The EG’s first shakedown was actually at USAir! Definitely a good option for your first event. Not a lot of seat time, but super cheap!

      It can definitely be done cheaper! This is just with this specific organization and how I do it!

    I have an EG that I've been autocrossing for a couple of years, and it's getting closer to time to do a track day with it. I have a proper racing seat in the car, and I'll be adding a custom, welded-in roll hoop and supports this winter. I'll be adding a six-point harness (for track use only, the 3-point belt will stay for street driving as the car is still licensed). I'll also be buying a new helmet and a head/neck restraint device. And, I'll pay attention to the requirements for whatever type of on-track event I choose (probably at Barber, for reference). Phew, that feels like a lot of money already. What else have I missed? BTW, the car itself is a K24 swapped 1993 hatch that I drive in XB class.

      That sounds more than enough. Just make sure you have good high temp brake fluid and you’re good to go!

    I do motorcycle track days at autobahn, gingerman, road America, etc. $220-300 on average per day just for the track time! No trailer and load in truck! Camp at track. Still $600 a day. And tires only last a few track days

      Yup… it’s a deeeep hole and the only thing we get back from it is SMILES. So worth it! Lol

    Racing is so fun yet so expensive :/ one day when I hit the lottery, I’ll race again lol

      Haha it can be “manageable” if you approach it strategically. But yeah, often times it’s $$$

    My cost racing Moroso, Homestead, and Jennings was $1000 easy for a weekend. At Daytona Intetnation Raceway was $1400. The increased cost was do to decreased tire life. Of course this is Superbike GTO racing and S.S. GTU class racing. Cars I can't imagine. It's got to cost more. Now if we crashed our bikes cost for repairs can be minimal to catastrophic. Enough to send me home early.

      @bvspeed  8 месяцев назад

      Yup! I didn’t even factor in the cost of maintenance and repairs on the car to get it ready lol. 2-wheels sounds expensive too!

    You should look at wht your credit card covers insirance wise. I know theu cover insurane for vehicle rentals (but only if you decline the insurance offered by the xonpany you rent from). I wouod imagine they would insire a trailer as well. Could save $25/weekend...

    • @miguelsanchez6465
      @miguelsanchez6465 8 месяцев назад +3

      $1500 is a lot of money for a lot of people right now. Yes that’s not a huge amount but if you are not extremely wealthy it’s not easy to race every weekend. I wish I had an extra $1500 every weekend I could use to go race…

    • @tvot029
      @tvot029 8 месяцев назад +3

      That's also JUST the weekend expense. That doesn't take into account the cost of tires, brakes and maintenance on the race car and tow vehicle.
      And that's also EVERY month, if not twice a month for about 7-8 months out of the year.
      It's. A. Lot.

    • @bvspeed

      To some people it is and that’s ok. Props to you I guess.

      I used to drag race when I was younger. My race car and parts were paid by the labor I charged people to build or work on their cars. You can always find a way.
      Now I have a boat and I initially charted it and made a business out of it to cover the expenses. I stopped because I began enjoying the boat myself but you get the point.
      Another example, yesterday I went to Publix and bought fruit for the week and was shocked when the bill was $68.
      I will not allow it to get me upset or think in “lack”. The solution? Make more money!!
