move the gadded lights up to match the top of the air cleaner, as the bottom light is partially hidden by the fender, from the front view and that bottom light interferes with the latch in the current position.
Lights are the equivalent to stickers in Peterbilt world. More lights more horse torque powers

Favorite flush cuts for sure. But I also have a trick to using normal side cutters on them. You learn a thing or two about zip tie etiquette in the electrical field and working controls haha

I would run the wires throught the intake connection hose to inside the hood or the rubber edges going into the body. Keeps it hidden and easy to replace

You need to add fender washers to the inside of your air cleaners so the bolts won’t pull through .Lots of weight on six bolts my opinion for what it’s worth love the build 👍.

Yes move straps to under the bottom on inside . Fab something off your struts that support that drop panel . Also I'd suggest a backer plate rolled to fit tight inside air cleaners so the vibration won't break the air cleaner around those bolts . Looks sharp !

They make a blind latch hood relocation kit Peterbilt Steve put a set on a 389 but he said it took a lot of finagling to get it to work right.
run the latches inside. lots of guys have done it and looks sweet. the other things guys do is change the angle of the strap and re bolt the piece on the hood at a bit lower angle. the cab side ypu can just loosen a bit and pivot it around to the new angle
Great video keep up the great work but for the hood latch cant you rotate it so the latch on the hood goes on the cab?
Greg love the build and yes you can put the latches on the bottom maybe not the back but I’ve seen it where they are flush

On the inside of the airfilter housing I like to add a peice of the old strap cut down across all the bolts it gives it more strength and equals the load across all the bolts instead of just the thin housing with the bolts and washers holding it. A tip if you want to use it, hope it helps 👍
Yes Greg, im a tech for Peterbilt and I have 3 show trucks as well as 8 others at home, and you can put the hood latches inside, just get some t-handle latches and mount the straps on the hood and the catches on lower hood saddles or "U brackets" if you will. I can try and get some pics of mine if you would like.
If you could wash the Peterbilt that would be just great! There’s a zip tie gun that pulls them tight and cuts them off all at once. Well worth the investment. Mines 30 years old and works like a charm.

Looks like it might be possible to flip the hood latches so that the fixed part that was on the hood is on the cab and the strap is on the hood. Seems like it would Lear the light that way.

You should paint the fuel tanks and air filters Black and then just leave the polished straps on the tank and the top of the breathers chrome, also when are you going to stretch it

You could probably raise the lights up just enough to clear the latches. Like half an inch to an inch.
Morocco welding in Somerset pa has done latch relocation to the inside of the hood.

I think that because the engine is forced induction, the intake screen won't make any difference to the air in the engine. The turbo will make up for it just fine.

I still think full rap around fenders in the rear... lights in the drop panels and under glow is necessary. But damn I'd love to take her around the block.
Don't know if its already been mentioned, but hit those air cleaners with Emory, Tripoli, and finish up with white Rouge. It should clean up those perfectly. I used to do alot of aluminum wheels this way. Hidden hood latches sound cool as hell. Never seen them myself but I love the clean look and where you're going with this rig. Shes a real looker! 😎👍
Do you have the light brackets on the reverse side and upside down? looks like they would be shorter flipped around ?

I think twisting the zip ties off is the best way because it doesn’t leave a sharp edge
Is it possible to install new lights in the rear of the sleeper if there's no inserts there from the factory? I've seen custom patterns of lights on the back before but do they come ordered that way from the factory or can you cut into the bunk to make inserts for the lights?

You need the zip tie tool that tightens and cuts flush. Great tool.
Just raise the lights so the latches miss the bottom light. Or have you fit the lights on the wrong side? They might only fit on one side, and not the other?

dril small hole in the intake tube put wire through the tube come out in side the hood cyclone wire holes.
12 gauge customs has a “hidden” latch set up that would help with the latch issue

Just wait till you see those big beautiful red X15 Cummins engines I. Those Pete’s!! 585 hp/ 2050 torque... I’m biased as I work at the Jamestown assembly plant ( x15 blockline!!)
Those air cleaner light will break off when it becomes cold and the mud flap become stiff. I had the same lights and I hated them for that very reason. I ended switching them out with clear flat led lights.
Move the hood latches to the inside of bottom of your hood and drop panels clean look seen it done like that many times
Dont get longer latches, simply clock them to whete they open and close horizontally. Of course you will have to drill holes on the hood.
Drill a hole into the air cleaner in take and back outta it when you get in the engine bay and seal around the holes
