Kyren in the 5th round last year. Puka Nacua in the 5th round this year. Note to self: if the Rams have a 5th round pick and they draft an offensive player, they're going to be a stud and you should draft them in fantasy immediately
I had the pleasure of watching this young man as a Notre Dame student. He was the best offensive player on the team. Could not be happier to see him succeed!
Any Notre Dame fan could tell anyone just how stupid it was to count Williams out because of his combine. Same thing happened with Kyle Hamilton, JOK, and Mayer and they’re doing just fine. Glad he’s balling out like we all knew he could.
It’s fun to see that you don’t need a premiers picks to built your team back up, rams are building a juggernaut with 3rd and 4th and 5th rounders the last few seasons. This is what gives us the wiggle room to trade our premier pick.
What a great story! I'm a huge Rams AND Notre Dame fan. I remember watching and cheering for Kyren at Notre Dame. I never imagined that the Rams would draft him and that he'd be a breakout star and I'd be able to cheer for him the way I've done for BOTH of my teams!
The 40 yard dash isn't always the best measurement for every position and every athlete. it is a TOOL but not The Bible. There are players who run low 4.4s or high 4.3s who don't make it in the league. There are players who run 4.6 who are very quick and make it in the league. Kyren demonstrated his vision, instincts and speed. That speed was good at full speed. He takes a couple steps before he can be at full speed and that speed fits in the league. This makes the 40 time not as good. His film shows he plays at his full speed with pads on and demonstrates his other attributes. Kyren did great in his interviews like almost all Notre Dame graduates. His character and utmost commitment to his craft is also desirable. If he had 4.4 speed that would only bring him up so far. The one trait that teams should consider is his availability/injury risk. Someone who is smaller in stature does correlate with a higher rate of injury. The Rams minimized their expense by getting him in the 5th round. If he stays healthy, The Rams will look like geniuses. There is a huge difference between a 40 time and “quickness.” Kyren has exceptional quickness. And amazing instincts. Some things just are not measurable. Kyren is amazing, despite “measurables.”
The Rams have some studs on offense. A future number one receiver and an already number one running back. I’m very interested to see how Stetson Bennett turns out for them. It also makes me wonder how many more studs are on this team and how many more are yet to come.
Stetson may never play another snap for the rams, he is off the roster due to personal reasons. Rumors of addiction issues. He’s an old rookie Qb and he just missed his first season.
Like so many great players, the measurable stats don't tell you the story. A few things you missed in this are the fact that Kyren Williams was a Rams fan growing up, his idol was Steven Jackson and he always dreamed about playing for the Rams someday. When his dream came true, he dedicated all his purpose to being the BEST version of himself for the Rams. The NFL combine can't measure a guys heart.
Hello Lauren, This is the first video of yours that i have watched since 2021 when you bagged on Mathew Stafford. Now he is a SB CHAMP. Shows how much you know.
I can tell you everyone thought he was too small, couldnt block, and couldnt play third down. Glad kelly help show/develop him and he's continued to flourish! Glad he's killin' it
A lot of people are hearing names like Kyren Williams and Puka. But a lot of other people are missing out on two other rams rookies(because for fantasy it focuses on individuals for offense but not defense)... Bryon Young and Kobie turner (the conductor). Kobie leads the rookies this year with 9 sacks and Bryon was tied in 3rd with 7th. All 4 guys were drafted later than 3rd round.
I am glad we have Kobie but I’m pretty sure he is getting the Aaron Donald effect. When he is getting double teamed it makes life easier on other D line players. Look how many players played a year with Donald and got huge contracts from other teams and then went back to normal
@@larryviars6199 I do agree with that. But he is on a rookie contract. So if he performs and learns he will earn his money in a few years. I think a lot of the defense is the AD effect. That's why I am a bit annoyed that announcers keep talking about Raheem morris. He was alright as a DC before the rams. BUt now hes a genius? Look at Brandon Staley...he was the same way. AD can make a lot of defensive schemes work because olines have to prioritize him.
Positive talk is good.. he is a professional football player.. now.. nice..BUT CAN HE GET A SUPER BOWL RING IN 2024.. STAY TUNED.. WHOSE HOUSE RAM'S HOUSE
I've been burned by Akers before and was extremely skeptical of his starting role. After Kyren got 15 carries week 1, I spent some FAB and ended up with a 'ship
Im sorry but Breece Hall is the best RB in that class. Breece tore his ACL last year and was well on his way to AFC ROY award. And he was a byproduct of a horrible and predictable offense and also a notoriously bad O-line. The jets had the most different starting 5 offensive lineman in the season.
Man when I first saw this dude at ND, I was shocked by how small he was and prayed we'd NEVER get nothing this small again! 🙏🏿😖 Then he comes to the Rams, then my stress went through the roof. 😓 After those Cardinals games, happy to say I was dead ass wrong about him 😓😖🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤝🏿🟦🐏🟨 Reppin' 314STL to da fullest 🙌🏿🤣

lol
and probably don’t trade your 5th round picks to the Rams

I know that you are right and I'm not a fan of Notre Dame
Kyle Hamilton and JOK had good combines tho?
And Cole kmet
I'm an ND fan & pissed we had all that talent & more yet couldn't get a win in the playoff.
@@champfromla6162not a good show out for combine for the Irish that year
It always amazes me how pro scouts will allow a workout in tshirt and shorts to totally overshadow 3 years of top-level college game film....

11 games and being second in rushing yards says enough. Dude is a stud
Facts
Good video Lauren, about these nfl stuff that been happening
This dude is a stud he changes their offense
One of the best Fantasy pickups I’ve made this year! He carried!
Love seein’ guys from the STL make it to the league

I followed this channel when it had under 1k subs. Lauren is a true gem!
Wow, thank you!
You’re so underrated!🙏🏼💯
Happy New Year! Keep up the great work Lauren 🤩
Rams have 4 players from the 2023 draft that are going in the first round of re-drafts. And they didn’t even have a first round pick lol
Love seeing Kyren thrive. Go ND ☘️. His first TD against Clemson is one of my favorite plays ever
Great run for sure

University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish had produced tremendously great running backs in Ricky Waters and hall of famer Jerome the Bus Bettis too

I do agree Staley was the better Coordinator. Hopefully we get him back next year.
Important to note that Tuner is doing that as an interior lineman, not an OLB or DE. Its that much more impressive.
Great video ❗️
I love that guy… combine can’t measure work ethic and determination.. and perseverance… Thank you for the video
Appreciate the video didn’t know any of this 🙏👌
great video as a rams fan this kid is wonderful
When he was drafted he basically congratulated the people that drafted him lol
Dude was an absolute beast at Notre Dame....can't believe he fell all the way to the 5th round.
This man was a stud for me in fantasy this year
Picked him up in the final round of fantasy and he CARRIED
That being said, a loss this week wouldnt hurt the Rams too bad

Picked up Puka & Kyren off waivers in week 2 and proceeded to win the championship.
