C = The passengers should NOT be expected to pay the salary of the employees/ crew!!! All expenses should be accounted for in the cruise price. Tipping all over is getting out of hand/ control!! Everyone wants money in the form of a “tip” for doing their job! A “tip” would be like a “thank you” for going above and beyond your duties for a customer. Employers should pay the employees a fair wage and their product and service would draw the customers creating more income. Tipping should not be expected and forced. I don’t mind tipping, but when you pay a high price for something and then expected to pay like 20% more for a tip is just starting to make the product or service way too costly!

Shouldn't someone investigate and dig deeper to expose this if it is the truth. I would surely hope that these huge corporations wouldn't take advantage of their employees or the customers that faithfully think that the money goes where it should! 😒
Never been on a cruise.
When I was in NYC in Sept the Hotel tactrd on a BS $75 a day for a "Hotel Ledging" fee or some nonsense. I was ticked off. I can't stand hidden fees. Just tell me the full price up front. What if I got there and couldn't afford it? And when looking things and I'm comparing prices I want to know the full price.
Outbreaks of illness can be attributed to staff cross contaminating surfaces in the buffet. My hubby watched how they ttake dirty dishes with bare hands. Put them on a tray then use the same dirty tray and hands Clean the table.
C, but i understand that many people dont know how or refuse to tip properly. So I understand putting the tips into the price, to which I would prefer option B
People more upset about tipping and price increase instead of the safety and man falling overboard and not found. Geez
The best information...short and to point.
Hi Anna Lee! Thank you so much for your kinds words!
As I said before…bypass Mexico!
I choose B, I just want everything taken care of before i go on my cruise
In Australia, RC includes gratuities in the total fare. Lets face it, gratuities pay the crew wages.
We do a combo....We instruct the Cruise Line to charge us 50% of the suggested rate for the behind the scenes crew members and then tip our cabin steward, waiter, etc. separately in cash. We believe the folks that work directly with the guests are much more into their work if they know there tips will be reflected in their service. (we are generous).
Thank you. Your info is always welcome. 😎 9:20
Thanks Jerry! I appreciate you my Friend!
Would love to have everything at once.
Hi Lisa! Thanks for your input. I hope you have a great day!
B - I like to have it all paid and not have to think about it later.
B- I just want an all included pricing for my cruise. This will allow me to budget for the cost and tip more generously on the cruise.
In case you haven’t realized most cruise fares advertised are the full fare including taxes and port charges. This is a fairly recent development.
I’ve booked both with RCL but also with TripAdvisor and Viator. I’ve had great experiences with all of them. I actually booked a swimming with pigs in the Bahamas this spring with TripAdvisor because it included more and was less expensive.
Thanks for sharing 🛳🛳
Hi Bee! Always good hearing from you. Hope you have a terrific weekend!
B will continue to add gratuities extra for service
Hi Lori! Thanks for your input. I hope you have a great day!
C. That way you reward excellent service!
Hi George! Thanks for your input. I hope you have a great day!
B- Included in the price. That way, the personnel is sure to get it.
I remember our first cruise where you paid, at the end of the cruise, with cash in enveloppes, gratuities to the personnel: room attendant, dining-room waiter and maître-d. You would dine at the same table served by the same waiter every night. At that time, there were no other alternatives i.e. no specialty restaurants. Well guess what? Some people did not come to dinner that last night to avoid paying gratuities!!!

My wife and I sailed on the Carnival Spirit about 14 years ago and we were supposed to stop in Mazatlán, but ended up skipping that port because of gang violence and instead ported in Manzanillo, which had only just began cruise operations. The place was totally industrial near the port, so we took a cab to a restaurant/beach location recommended by the driver and ended up in the prettiest location with 5-star service and nearly nobody else around. We had several drinks, lunch, our own umbrella and chairs and even bought souvenirs with the grand total being less than $100 bucks for everything! We loved it and I am now sad that things have gotten so bad.
Just give the total price. Tips included.
C, so I can decide
If you picked C the person doing the laundry, cleaning the ship, sorting trash, or making your food will no longer receive tips, and you know cruise lines won't raise their wages. The cruise lines should be required to show how they distribute the gratuities
They don’t receive tips anywhere else
B pay it up front as part of the fare.
B include them in the cruise pricing.
B - when I was stationed in Germany that's how things were. It took me a little time to get used to it, but it's comforting to know the price you see is exactly what it costs - no surprises.
❤I would love to see the gratuities included in the price-it’s nice to see the total cost right from the start.
