Originally, this was going to be a video on "The War of The Alliance", but I forgot it takes me awhile to get back into full production mode after a long break. Good thing St. Vincent's War serves as a nice little prelude into The Alliance War, which will come later in the year since I've already recorded the audio and did some preliminary work on it. Before the Merchant War, the NLC and WFP had an alliance known at the Northern Alliance Defence Organization (NADO). They were unsuccessfully trying to get the UMF to join, until it's defeat in the Merchant's war. As for the end of the St. Vincent's war, while none of the Northern leagues withdrew from the war effort, the UMF was threatening to and support for the war was waning in the NLC itself. Only the WFP was still fully dedicated to it. Just two notes I found conspicuous by their absence.
Man, this guy can be reading the instructions on the shampoo bottle and somehow will manage to make it an epic greater than life narration. Your research into the lore is very moving, makes me think some people still care about the lore of things.
2:36 is gonna be my new wallpaper. Great vid as always. I'd like to get more into this game once I have some money and can figure out which books have the best introductory lore.
HG2E is the best for that. That really sets you up with a majority of the important things. Following that, Life on Terra Nova 2E. Both have a good hi-res version on drivethrurpg. (Revitalized)
Thirding "Life on Terra Nova Second Edition" for Lore stuff, to say it's filled with background info would be an understatement. Also the Heavy Gear RPG 4th Edition sourcebook is out now on drivethrurpg and Dream Pod 9 through their cons. I dont have a copy (yet), but supposedly they've moved the timeline up by another couple of decades.
@@MacsLore Life on Terra Nova is dated 1936, just prior to the outbreak of the Polar War. The storyline books cover the events up to TN 1951 and the 4th ed RPG takes it to 1954
@@MacsLoreI think its on RUclips, but its a gem of a show to me anyway. Not as many factions as you describe here only North and South who instead of going to war play games against each other instead for political leverage
Loved the HG games and the TV show, even the OFP / ARMA mods all back in the day. Thank you for explaining the lore that escaped me back then...when you can kill armies with big stompy mechs you tend to miss stuff like that.
That was when it was called OFP "Operation Flash Point. They had to change the name to ARMA when they split with codemasters. So ARMA 1 era and graphics...we were still happy with it back then. @@leftwardglobe1643

Low light engaged

Good catch on that. I am also confused by their absence.
I just picked up the new RPG book for Heavy Gear. Showing my players this will answer a lot of their questions. Thanks.
More Heavy Gear???? AWESOME!!!
The combo of art + renders works really well, nice touch
It did make things easier when I realized that was a good idea. 👀
Hear hear, it looks super cool
I just got into Heavy Gear a few days ago, and it seems like it was just in time!
Looking forward to more from you!
Very nice! I've been learning more about Heavy Gear myself, and am glad to see videos that can really provide visuals to the events.

Dont tempt me about the shampoo thing. April Fools is coming up.
@@MacsLore by all means, prove me right lol.
Perfect timing for this to come out as I develop and unhealthy obsession with the setting
CEF player here. I eagerly await your next video.
Id like more frequent HG lore please, this shit kicks ass
Excellent incorporation of book artwork into the dynamic stills! Gorgeous!

Great work, intro to one of the core conflicts of the HG universe. Also 4:26 Brutal
This was a great and immaculate Lore-friendly video of the Heavy Gear saga! Thank you so much, it was beautiful! ❤
HG lore video?! Heck yeah man. Subbed!
Great stuff and a nice reminder about the fluff on that one historical scenario from Heavy Gear 2.
How about a video about Operation: Grain Snatch from the first X-Wing game?
Anyone else have to pause the video for a moment, because they were giggling too hard, qt the Hunters and Jaegers flipping each other off!! 🤣🤣🤣
Great job!
Looking forward to more Heavy Gear videos in the future
My Favourite Gear is literally the Jager. While the Hunter is cool and all I just like the Jager because of its robust design and effectiveness.
Another Great video. Keep it up.❤
Great Video as always, great music ;) still have the the full box copy of the game here and I like to listen to the music now and then :)
Fantastic video
THE GEAR IS HERE
Did you ever see the Heavy Gear Cartoon?
Somehow I actually missed it when it was on in the early 2000s. I think I vaguely remembered seeing commercials for it.

Generic influencer statement about child fatalities being bad with a bunch of hashtag!!!

Wait, there's a Heavy Gear mod for Arma? I haven't been able to find anything about that. It sounds awesome.
