I mess with these all the time but it's nice to hear someone else play all of them through. For some reason it loses perspective when you are the one playing. This really shows how they sound out of the box. My personal favs from clean to dirty are the Princeton, then Matchless, then Revv. The new 2203 Marshall (released since this video) is fantastic with a Les Paul.
I own a POD HD500X and even that sounds great to me. I'd love to get my hands on the HELIX LT. Just the Amp sounds alone you get from this unit are worth a fraction of its price. Add to this all the effects and effects chain capabilities with a fraction of the stage and storage space needed who in their right mind wouldn't make the investment if they could?? I definitely would!
This was very cool. I found myself liking a few amps that I have previously passed over. Need to go back and give them another chance. Thanks for doing this.
The Park 75 Bright is an underrated amp model. You can get excellent clean, crunch, and heavy tones (with a boost) out of it if you know how to dial it in. Comes to life with a good Greenback 4x12 IR.
I'm joining a touring cover band here in spain, the other guitarist recommended that i buy a helix because they don't use amps, he just plugs his helix straight into the sound system
Nice versatile sounds throughout. Bonus: it's nice to know exactly what is being modeled in each just in case I want to buy a new amp somewhere down the road
I understand that people have their preferences, some like real amps and some are happy with emulations like the helix. I have both, and honestly, whatever helps you make music is all that matters. If you're happy, then the music will flow.
That was a great run through! I like that you chose to play riffs/parts that were suited to the particular Amps, and I enjoyed your good guitar playing as well. 😎 It might be nice if you could time stamp the different Amps so they are easier find when someone wants to "reference" a sound. I have an HX Stomp, and got into the habit of using a separate Block for the Amp, and the Cab, so it was nice to hear all the Amp+Cabs with stock settings throughout. Perhaps you might consider doing something similar with a run through of all the different Cabs, but played through just one or two Amps. I'm not sure if anyone has done that. Thanks. Subscribed
Thanks for the comments, I might just do that because it does make a massive difference changing cabs, I’m going to do a video comparing the quad cortex captures and models V the helix next 👍
@@damienbagleeguitar I look forward to such a video. I agree, cabs make a huge difference. I recently discovered that the Line 6 Cabs are defaulted to an 8Kh high cut, but many real guitar Cab Speakers have steep high cut at around 5Kh. Changing to that setting in my HX Stomp has made a huge difference in my ability to dial in more realistic tones, and avoid harsh, fizzy highs.
Great video. Thanks for the time and effort put into this. It is very helpful in educating us all about all the amp models, especially when one comes from a part of the world where these amps are just not available. I have a question. You have a Dynamics block before your amp. Can you provide the details of which effect and the settings so we can get the same setup in place on our side?
Thank you for doing this. I just got started with my Stomp XL. Being able to listen to you play through all the stack amps really helps narrow down the field.
Hello i love your videos. Can i use in Helix dual outputs ? One output XLR Left and Right With Amp+ Cab and effects to P.A and other outputs 1/4 Left and Right to diferent Amp, real amps a Mesa boogie and a Fender and in Helix the same patch with effects but without cab and amp simulation. Its possible? Does the DSP Can hold on ? Thanks regards from Portugal.
Lot of ways I think you could do this, you could set up snapshots to disable the amp and cab sims and outputs or use the effect loops patch in the single chain after the effects to split the signal and set snapshots up, hope that helps?
I appreciate the effort, but why the switch to an LP a quarter of the way thru? The patches with the LP sound like they might have been set up with a Strat.
The patches are just factory settings, I changed because and amps that come from when I changed are amps with more gain generally so thought it would be beneficial using the les Paul to get the most out of them
Do you run you guitar pad ON or OFF with the Les Paul? (Same question for the strat!) Do you (or anyone else reading this) find it helpful to have the Pad ON and volume up a little, or Pad OFF and volume/gain down a little??? Does it even matter?? LOL Great stuff man!!! THANKS!!! :D
I must be doing something wrong. I'm A/B'ing the same sounds from the video with my new HX Stomp XL and the sounds from the video sound WAY better. I just can't think of how or why this could be.
Do you play through any cabinets or speakers? I use my harbingers speaker for the sound, and I'm just curious about how you may get the best quality from what you play through
For live stuff I use left and right frt of house and monitors, then just run a mono signal into a orange pedal baby into a 2 x 12 victory cab, the cab isn’t mic up it’s only for a bit of stage volume, cab sim is just left on on the helix and I just use the eq on pedal baby to adjust things, I use the same set up with the Quad Cortex, hope that helps 👍
@@Vienzbow both great and helix edit was excellent, but with the cortex having captures and the ability to download from the app, for me and what I use it for now the Cortex edges it 👍
Got years to go before they even get close to a real valve amp. U put a fender black face with a kick ass distortion u will be blown off stage. But good video
As a Helix LT and Stomp owner, it’s kinda cool watching someone else do this for a change.😊
Great, thank you for the video!

Do yourself a favor and get a Powercab with it.
As a Helix nerd myself, I really enjoyed this video :)
I’m loving the helix even more so than the cortex to be honest 👍
@@damienbagleeguitar Quad Cortex is just not ready yet...
Snap.. it just sounds great.
Thx for posting.. I needed the inspiration to dig deeper in my helix!
I haven’t had it long but loving the HX edit makes it so easy to set up some great presets 👍
Great Run through need to see this sort of thing some more , run through amps paired with distortions
Really good for jogging my memory! Great video!
Great video - really well done! And the playing was just right - quick and to the point.

Saving the best until (nearly) last. That Line 6 Litigator is SO good!

Thank you. I just got the stomp xl and I go to look for some amps and it’s all a bunch of gibberish. My helix came with not code breaker.
I think the next update needs Marshalls .Jubilee ,JMV ,dsl & 900 maybe ?
Since this fantastic video helix came out with the 2 Brit 2203 what would that be also a Marshall?
Which reverb and delay did you use? Are they also at their stock settings? Great video by the way. Very helpful 👍

Every time 🤘

Les Paul should be just that less paul😂. LP is far too over rated
I was hoping they still had the Line 6 Purge on there :(
