Idk why this video got views randomly. Just want to say yes this IS Uzi speaking. I don’t know why there’s people saying “that’s not uzi’s voice”. It IS Uzi from the AdinLive stream so you can look it up.

The thing about Yung Lean is that he basically changed the aesthetic of the entire rap game, or at least a huge portion of it, which in itself is impressive enough, especially when you consider his influence is so far reaching that there are probably a lot of artists who are stylistically influenced by him that don't even realise it, even in the mainstream. But since then he's also put out so much good quality writing that, realistically, most people, even his fans, didn't really expect. His lyrics are super poetic and his ear for melodies is great. I still don't really think out he puts out great albums, but on his day (Red Bottom Sky, Blue Plastic, Boylife in EU) he can write as good as anybody. He's a quality artist with years ahead of him still, and he did more for music in his first few years than most famous artists do in two decades.

I think what he means by role players can boil down to two things. Lean is from Sweden and he and Sad Boys have so much respect because they know what part of hip hop culture they fit into and don't try to be overbearing about it. Think other white rappers like Mac and Em, they play a role for the culture and dont overplay how much of a role they have. They never portray an image that's not them. The second thing it boils down to is that Lean and co hit a sound of rap not many can do. I can't imagine anyone else making say Unknown Death 2002 or Starz.

Very true. Yung lean is a legend because instead of trying to ride the wave of the sad boys era he reinvented himself with every release and not only that he stayed true to who he is and where he’s from. His aesthetic and his music reference swedish culture in ways anyone not familiar would have to research to see. He’s a true artist in that sense that he stayed honest with himself and didnt let the fame change him.

Even tho I fell in love with Yung Lean's music and sad boys, first, people gotta give Drain Gang their props too. Considering they're all friends and work together, it's no surprise that Bladee and them are really right alongside sad boys, as far as their influence on underground music and their creative evolution, over the years. It's just that Lean became kinda the face of the cloud rap movement

I think lil B then soon after we had yung lean and close to that spooky black as wel as BONES
Just before Asap Rocky really generated some hype. This in my opinionwas the perfect storm on Soundcloud and RUclips to completely change the aesthetic and architecture of hiphop. Absolutely no doubt in my mind those artists had a massive impact on the genre all in their unique way changing it for ever. Making everyone realise there’s less boundaries than we once thought and combined nostalgic Melodie’s and visuals whilst really utilising the power of the internet.
Damn I miss 2011-2014 internet rap. The mainstream I feel wouldn’t even know that’s where a lot of these hugely popular sounds and looks originated from
