"Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." Luke 22:42 For Jesus Christ to pray that the Father "remove this cup from me", something I have also prayed many times; tells me He wasn't looking forward to what He was about to endure. God promises us that we will suffer. Sproul says something to the effect that if you know that Jesus is with you why are you afraid? Yes, God is always with us but it doesn't ensure God puts us in a bubble where we observe from the inside but endure nothing. I have had more than my fair share of suffering so I speak from experience. What about being afraid you will let God down? Or you have already let God down; failed to pass His test? Failed to hear His message? Isn't that worth being anxious or afraid about? It takes every bit of faith in my being to continue to walk forward in faith; scared out of my mind every single day, braced for the unknowable suffering waiting for me, time and time again. It's worth it but the last thing I need is for someone to tell me there is nothing to be afraid of...because there is and God knows it. It's in His Word.
Sometimes our body controls, and anxiety takes over.
Thanks
👼 .Amen!.👼.
