I’m a momma of 4 and grandma of 7, and I think the Rhodes family is an excellent example of raising children on an “all hands on deck” homestead. I enjoy watching every video but this one was especially heartwarming. All five children are finding their way as individuals as well as their role on the farm. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Hi Justin. This comment is for Ms. Rebecca. Ms. Rhodes I wanted to mention to you that there is a Mexican dish called Albondigas (meatball) soup. The recipe calls for carrots and rice but I've made it without both because I'm Keto. I'm also 1/2 Mexican so that's why I even tried making this soup. When I saw Nacho's meat it reminded me of how flavorful it would make broth. Just hoping to give you some ideas that Mr. Rhodes can eat without getting sore feet. Love your new house. God bless your family.
Like I've been saying, they've been doing this a long time, have aLOT on the plate, things change all the time. It is what it is at any given time but it is NOT entertainment for you, the viewer, the way you would like it. I didn't like 100 days of chainsaws but I didn't tell them they should change for me or, omg your content is way better now that the part I didn't love is not here.
Seems like Johna is upset in this video, ❤ Hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing camping trip. I'm sure the kids would love a vacation away from working so much. ❤❤
I think the older boys deserved a camp out alone with their dad and not have to still be in charge of the younger boys. And take the younger boys on their own overnight. And how about don’t film during those. Zero camera. Just be present with your hands free. Filming has got to be frustrating for these boys some days. Wanting to just express their emotions without worrying about a million people judging their behavior in the moment when we do not know the entire context. Jonah is definitely deserving of feeling over it.
AaaaaaMen to THAT! NO CAMERAS, on the camping trip!!!! I think those older boys need more privacy! Just look at those folded arms, while dad is asking questions,. Body language speaks loudly. Maybe like, "Please poppa, NOT on camera" Poppa is busy, and has no idea what the world will do with all that info '.'
Same, I felt that through the screen. some days I think my life has extra "off roading" trails then others but I also get through it. Never boring at least! Haha
This has been the most raw and genuine video of yours. I’ve seen in a long time. I love the conversation between your sons and you and the problem-solving and the teamwork.
Have you considered that maybe a carnivore diet isn’t helping you maybe you should consider adding in more fruits and vegetables for the antioxidants, they are important for fighting inflammation
Justin, I too suffer from the damage caused by Lyme disease that wasn’t diagnosed nor treated timely. I can totally relate to all your health issues. The inflammation and pain is unbelievable at times. Lyme also severely impacts the collagen in your body which also impacts your joints. I have spells with my back also. I too would never get anything accomplished if I didn’t simply push through most days. But you also have to learn to pace yourself. I pray you can eventually resolve some of it.
Good morning from Sparta, NC...up on the mountain. I quit sugar and the change was great! I read an earlier comment about sugar also...if I slip up that's it!! Sorry about your back😐. Your children are phenomenal; they are able to do everything you ask of them!! Have a great day🙂.
This episode really was a great one...I feel your excitement for those critters getting in the gold... have you ever read the book, Gold in the Grass? It's not just a story of a husband and wife team after the war, but a genius figuring out how to turn a depleted farm into a thriving, unusual gold mine of grass... the author tells it so clear I think it's more of a how to step by step read.
Yep, they’re teenagers. They need to mix more with kids their own age ..since their homeschooled they don’t get many opportunities to mingle. They seem a little burned out, as well as their father !!! You all need a complete rest. What about going back to Florida for some R&R!! camping to me is more stressful than being at home !!❤😂
I have arthritis pretty bad in my hands and both knees. I had two accidents and each time hurt a knee. I lived on aspirin, heating pad and ice packs. I got intentional about what I ate. I ate clean food. No coatings on my meat, just bake it. Heat my vegetables. Fruit in hand, sparingly. I cut my sodium to as low as possible. No processed foods and NO sugar based dishes, like cake. Sorry Lily. Most drastic was trying to stay away from dairy! My joints are doing great. I have heart failure and copd so the loss of almost 50# is great.
I hate to say it but I agree about Dairy at least for you if you are still having pain on carnivore. Consider just water for a couple of weeks and see if it help....
I also gave up cheese at the beginning of the year. I’ve been carnivore for 30 months and I had not realized how much inflammation the cheese inflicted on me. I gave up heavy cream a month ago and my abs are making their first appearance in 38 years! Coincidence?! 🤔🙂
Diagnosed with RA at 54 years old, 8 yrs ago. Walked out of that with diet. Two years ago, I lost my 29 yr old son, and my pain returned. I have not recovered. I realize how much stress/trauma plays a roll. Much love to you and that beautiful family.
I am so sorry regarding the RA, I was diagnosed with RA when I was 53, was a smoker quit 6 months ago, lost my husband 30 days ago, and I am not clean eating and am on more and more medication, live in Canada so just have to pay for meds, mine is in my hands and feet, so I feel your comment
I was diagnosed with RA at 18, 40 years ago. So much can be done now to slow the progression . It’s time to stop just a holistic approach and maybe add a specialist and see a RHEUMATOLOGIST. You can go into remission, it could come and go it never stays gone.
It's so hard to figure out why we get so inflamed. We try everything, and it just keeps on. I do know that stress of any kind takes its toll on me. I have chronic fatigue, with lots of pain from inflammation. You are go, go, go. Be careful, I believe there is such a thing as overworking your adrenals and it's so hard to recoup. Hopefully, you can slow down soon. Rest your back, give it some ice.
Hey there, I'm pretty sure long periods of fasting is hard on our organs which slows down circulation. I believe you want to increase circulation especially to your extremities so maybe check with your doctor whether fasting is less favourable for overall wellness.
As somebody who has done stupid stuff and hurt my lower back numerous times, hot water therapy helps. Now they have more options for dealing with pain.
You need do day in the life of your wife. Because people think she does nothing all day. They forget she home schools, does office work for farm and planning the build. Dont forget helping her mother.
And I remember once seeing she did something for abundance plus. Can’t remember exactly what that was. And I give both Justin and Rebecca a lot of credit. For ignoring the haters. They don’t owe not one of them any answers.
Hi.... Justin Rhodes and Rebecca and nice to see you all love watching your video homestead chicken 🐓 duck 🦆 goose farmer garden 🐓🦆🐑🐐🐄🐖🦮🐕🦺🐣🐤 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
Over did it moving and excited when Joe Salaton came to visit and clearing ! Wow! Maybe time to rest your body for a day or two. You are the super husband, Dad and Farmer. 🎉❤
I don’t know if you’ve touched on it in another video. I’ve missed a few but what you said about moving it’s almost like you’re coming full circle starting something new with moving around those three houses
Mountain boarding must have pounded your spine. Growth hormones in our twenties hold off a lot of our aches & pains. As growth hormones decrease in our thirties, things catch up with us. MRI of the spine might show degenerative disc disease. Since you are predisposed to high blood sugar, foot pain is probably neuropathy (nerve pain). Compression knee socks have done wonders for my husband’s foot pain.
I have been watching for so long like since 2015 and I believe this is the first time I’ve ever heard Justin cuss. 😂 I feel like I did when I heard my grandma cuss for the first time. 🎉
I don't know what you'd have to be stressed about. I'm surprised you're not as jumpy as a stretched spring. Be patient with yourself, your plate is more than full. Don't hesitate to ask for help. The community you've made is for you, too, you know.
Gideon needs professional development which should help with discipline. He has a disrespectful attitude and mouth. The parents make excuses for his lack of help and attention span.
He was throwing mud balls towards his dad, brother & camera man. He just needs extra attention right now, and I think they're doing that recently. Bless his heart.
it is a bit hard on animals to just drop them out on green grass- espcially horses! they will founder. i understand you are leaving the farm and wanted enought spce for them to graze and not have to have the farm sitter move them. but please cosnider smaller paddocks for the first few days when you let your beasties out in the spring!
Justin: This episode opens with you stating that you feel you need to fast longer to deal with inflammation & refer to back pain.Later you say you mustn't eat any carbs. Two things to consider: # 1 - did you know that red meat causes inflammation? And #2 - not all carbs, including veggies, must be avoided, because not all veggies will spike your insulin. It's empty carbs that we can easily avoid, for those benefits. Many veggies are highly nutritious & now you're missing out on the fiber & more that many good veggies can provide, whereas, meats have no fiber. We need fiber. Also : I feel that you really need to find a good chiropractor. Your lower back keeps bothering you, & I think you might be at risk of it buckling, which would put you in a world of pain, & may require that you need to stay in bed to limit the pain somewhat. Please avoid a more messed up spine. You must get that fixed if you want to reach your many goals. Hope you go back to taking better care of yourself & enjoy a well rounded life experience. Inflicting hardships & extremist methods on yourself aren't always your only option. I mean, you can easily grow potatoes & enjoy one of the most pleasing sides of gravy on mashed potatoes which you've made from a flour roux + water, made with pan drippings of a beef or pork roast, or roasted chicken or turkey - either parts or whole. As for those frozen patties with too much fat mixed in, pan saute them for tacos or a pasta sauce. Pour off excess fat before seasoning.
Justin, I have a high inflammation issue as well. A friend recommended mushrooms to help reduce the inflammation. I'm still researching mushrooms. I did however, find a powder called Ryze Matcha with mushrooms. I make a hot Ryze Matcha mushroom tea daily in the early morning hours. I've only been taking it 1 1/2weeks, and I find I'm sleeping much better (soundly), and when I wake I feel a bit better. Just a suggestion to look further into mushroom supplements....just a thought. The hamburger you had made from your bull with too much fat, that doesn't taste good may taste good for your dog.
hi just wondering have you considered taking fenugreek capsules before your meals, they're known to decrease blood sugar levels tremendously. hope this helps.
I also have horrible inflamation for 40 years and found histamines add to inflamation in the mass. That means dont thaw meat before cooking. It cooks or gathers histamines as it thaws causing flair ups in the mass. I been doing carnivore and i was getting so much inflamation from wonderful to literally feeling like i could die. Found out the meat setting in plastic to thaw can cause the flair ups. The longer it sets in plastic when only refrigerated the worse you will feel after eating it. So now i only take the steaks out when im going to eat them . I dont thawthem out anymore. Might help you, just a thought.
Have you tried getting off sugar?? It helped me and when I went back on sugar it I was a mess !! once you are off it's easy but one slip puts me back in a funk !!!
All sugars are bad news for arthritis. I realize Lily is a great baker but your sugar intake seems to be high. I have gout and osteoarthritis and a carnivore. Yep, I am a Carnivore and have gout. It's NOT the meat it's the sugar. Milk even has natural sugar. Whenever I drink milk or cheat and have a little tiny bit of sugar of any kind my arthritis goes out the roof.
A real doctor yeah all they do is 💊. They want to keep you sick instead of a cure . Profit over ppl. There's hundreds of natural ways to help you heal. My native American ancestors knew what to do for their health. There's books like lost remedies and foraging that teaches you. Have a wonderful blessed day 💜🙏
My suggestion would be to try carbs as close to zero per day as you can for a week and see how you feel. Dietary advice is always "YMMV" since we humans are so diverse.
Stretch, light workout, sauna, ice bath, sauna, massage, stretch Maybe try workouts and stretches in ways your body rarely moves and functions..you probably have lots of repetitive motion and lifting.. could see an imbalance causing deep pain and gradual injury Imo your body needs to move in the other ways... Swim, plyometrics, deadlift stretch w weights, arm hang from pull up bar, inversion table (hang upside down), acupuncture, chiropractor (y-strap), aerobics Thanks for all you do hope you feel better soon 🙏✌️
Your caos must cause so much anxiety for the kids especially the older boys!!😮 why do you not have a group meeting twice a day to delegate chores? I would suggest to do it at meal times or just after. If morning isn't easy then after supper plan for next morning. Let's get organized and like a business.... Not so here, there and everywhere! Treat them with respect they will want to do farming later on. Do you like how you yelled after them and filmed it? If I were them I would start dreaming of different professions. 😢 what will you do when they go off to college? Your frustration is your issue, remember to be kind.🙏
On this video you can really see Jonah mentally checking out in frustration and don't blame him. Sometimes seems justin puts too many decisions on the older boys and Lilly too.
I could tell you were hurting in your video with Joel. I recognize it. Hope you find relief and please if you do, tell us how you did it. I’m dealing with similar symptoms
Justin, You can tweak your back sleeping. If You have a grownup hard sleep, You can wake up feeling like You have been through a heavy weight bout. Make an appointment for the Chiropractor they might be able to help. Get in those muscles, and make sure Your feet are aligned. Carrying that huge camera set-up, and one arming Babies like a twenty year old young man cannot be helping. It might be time to rethink Your lifting practices. Every Wonderful Vlog I see Justin one arming a baby over a live stock fence. I say to myself, Self!!! He is going to wrench His back. Probably the same injury You have been always doing to Yourself. But the older You get there is no walking it off. It is going to take a minute to heal.
i have a gopher problem and i was wondering if you had any tips and tricks that will help me. I just moved in on this 5 acre property and there's gophers all over the place and i would love to start a pasture like yours and to help build up the soil and making the soil healthy again. I prefer to use a non toxic and chemical free product and fully 100% organic certified but i still have no clue what the best options i have.
I hear you mainly considering your diet as the source of the inflammation. Could the 70 lb kettlebell lifts possibly be the problem? I know pregnant women get back aches so I can only imagine what swinging 70 lb up and down might do to your back. I hope you figure it out because you sound miserable with the pain. Good luck and God bless♥️
Another day of quest for boots. Speaking of boots what type do you use? I've worn combat boots the past 30 years, they are messy when it's muddy...LOL Somebody has to be the tester, Henry will by your side forever...LOL I have springs on my homestead too, but lucked out with pressurized water with a NCRS funding and enough grass for three cows per year.

I love the realness of this video. It’s not all chopped up and made it look like a movie.

When Jonna said "No Were Not Lucky"...I Totally FELT THAT!!!!!!!!! My Kids ALWAYS Say that!!!!
“No we’re not lucky” Jonah I felt that to my soul! Talk about Homesteading challenges in a nutshell.
Same, I felt that through the screen. some days I think my life has extra "off roading" trails then others but I also get through it. Never boring at least! Haha
Working so hard to be healthy has never made anybody more sick than you guys
Really don’t want to hear 10 minutes of Justin’s health challenges.
This has been the most raw and genuine video of yours. I’ve seen in a long time. I love the conversation between your sons and you and the problem-solving and the teamwork.
"No, we're not lucky" LOL Cracked me up.
Enjoyed seeing the cows do their happy dance.
Have you considered that maybe a carnivore diet isn’t helping you maybe you should consider adding in more fruits and vegetables for the antioxidants, they are important for fighting inflammation
I think it’s time to name your channel. I think “Homestead Hospital “ sounds appropriate.
Thank you Justin for recognizing/mentioning Passover on the 22nd :) I haven't given up on you and your family...praying for your all!!!

Would love to hav a farm like your you all seem to love doing what your doing and all the animals u raise

Your boys need a party celebration. Coed. They look disheveled and exhausted. They need a pick me up. Inspiration ya know
Yep, they’re teenagers. They need to mix more with kids their own age ..since their homeschooled they don’t get many opportunities to mingle.
They seem a little burned out, as well as their father !!!
You all need a complete rest. What about going back to Florida for some R&R!!
camping to me is more stressful than being at home !!❤😂
Lol Justin....calling your son Goober. My youngest nickname was Goober, or Goob . Love that time of my life with them.
Annie’s organizing is so satisfying 🙌🏼
Love watching you all ❤
Love spring. Have great time away❤

Awesome thumbnail. The graphics jump off the page, so colorful and almost textured! I love it!
Jonah is like so done with that camera dad.......
Is it the camera or his Dad?
Both - he seems like a typical teen. 😅

Try tumeric tea daily. It helps so much with inflammation. You can also tumeric latte.

It's NOT the meat it's the sugar. Milk even has natural sugar. Whenever I drink milk or cheat and have a little tiny bit of sugar of any kind my arthritis goes out the roof.
Has he tried going to a real doctor?
A real doctor yeah all they do is 💊. They want to keep you sick instead of a cure . Profit over ppl. There's hundreds of natural ways to help you heal. My native American ancestors knew what to do for their health. There's books like lost remedies and foraging that teaches you. Have a wonderful blessed day 💜🙏
Have you watched his show??😂
@@manellaperry4748Complete fear mongering and conspiracy theories. Modern western medicine is his only hope.
My suggestion would be to try carbs as close to zero per day as you can for a week and see how you feel. Dietary advice is always "YMMV" since we humans are so diverse.
Stretch, light workout, sauna, ice bath, sauna, massage, stretch
Maybe try workouts and stretches in ways your body rarely moves and functions..you probably have lots of repetitive motion and lifting.. could see an imbalance causing deep pain and gradual injury
Imo your body needs to move in the other ways... Swim, plyometrics, deadlift stretch w weights, arm hang from pull up bar, inversion table (hang upside down), acupuncture, chiropractor (y-strap), aerobics
Thanks for all you do hope you feel better soon 🙏✌️
Is the siding to the small house original? Did your grandpa mill it?
What chaos. My stars!
@@natasha1369College?

I could tell you were hurting in your video with Joel. I recognize it. Hope you find relief and please if you do, tell us how you did it.
I’m dealing with similar symptoms
Justin,
You can tweak your back sleeping.
Is there both electric and water lines on that single tee post?? if so, they could be pretty dangerous
Little bit rough with that baby cow
😊
Why are you guys still in the second house? What happened to the cabin after the grease fire?
Cyclops is the only energizer i trust. I use the others but never works always like Cyclops
❤🙏
👍👍
Mix Nacho with Stud and make a meatloaf.
I have found that mixing beef with another meat like pork or bison makes the best meatloaf or spaghetti sauce. Mix Nacho burgers with something else.
Take seamoss supplements Justin that should help out
Pain is your body telling you your body is damaged. Pushing through could make it worse.
When are you getting wind and solar
I had trouble finding a female-to-female connector once.
There is a natural way to get rid of oxidative stress that causes inflammation. It changed my life.
Xtra tuff
Have you ever tried Castor oil compress.?
Try wedge sole boots
So chaotic
Hose threads aren't meant to be sealed with Teflon tape you need a rubber washer
I was wondering if it was missing an o-ring but I don't know anything about
