My Allah bless and guide you akhi Bg: Im 15, boutta do GCSEs, interesting in Physics and Maths mainly Obviously, taking a loan is haram. So my choices are: 1) Do dentistry, in which case my dad said he would give me a non-interest loan (I'm not interested really in biology or doing 5 years of stressful uni, even if dentists are well paid) 2) Do some other degree, probably engineering or maybe maths (I'd have to save up during summer holidays and A levels with a job, and a part time job in uni aswell, and I dont even know if that will cover it) 3) Apprenticeship Seems pretty good, considering: -Salary -Experience -No fees for a degree! I've picked A level Maths, Chemistry, Biology (my dad made me) and Physics I have more than enough time to change these even after the courses begin (I'd rather to FM than Bio, and if thats too much then just Phys Chem Math) For now I put my trust in Allah, and ask for any advice.
Ameen. Jazakallah Khair. My mum also really wanted me to go uni but it's just a case of convincing. The benefits of a degree apprenticeship speaks for itself. If you are already against the Alevels you've chosen, it's going to be very hard to stay motivated
Hi, I’ve gotten to the last stage of recruitment for both AJ bell and PwC, any tips for the assessment centres? Specially pwc’s virtual assessment centre via google meets
I didn't get very far with PwC. It was my first application and it was through UCAS. I don't have a lot to say regarding assessment centres beyond what was mentioned in this video: ruclips.net/video/XnJ3rUJoooE/видео.html
Assalamu'alaykum Mahdi, Could you please make a video on how you prepared for interviews, what common interview questions you prepared for, how you wrote your answer, how you applied for assessments given by the companies?
Mashallah. I'm wondering how you manage living away from home (If you do) when you are completing a DA as a young muslim. Especially when there is no Uni provided accommodation etc.
@@Mito-mp9fk I lived away for two years. I really enjoyed the experience because I know I'll never get the chance to do that kind of thing again. Naturally, there was a lot of difficulty around getting used to living alone e.g. learning how to cook but those are hurdles that everyone quickly adapts to. Finding a place is not that bad. You'll be a lot more flexible than a typical uni student because it's up to you how much of your salary you want to spend on rent.
Hey Mahdi, I hope you are well. I have a question, is it necessary to have a driver’s license for degree apprenticeships as I have seen so many listings requiring a license. I don’t have one, will this impact my chances significantly?
@@Delacroix0402 I've never heard of that before so it must be new. I didn't have a listence before applying and over half the cohort that applied with me didn't. It's more so the case that they require you to live close by therefore you'll likely be required to move out if you aren't local. Definitely still apply even if it says that, then you can clarify your situation.
salam Alaikum I was wondering for people who are going to y13 and want do degree apprenticeship in engineering what do you think we should do so we increase our chance in getting accepted in sha allah and another question what grades did u need for your degree apprenticeship (entry requirement wise ) and does the quality of the degree apprenticeship depend on its entry requirement or is more of how big the company is ?
WaAlaykumSalam WRBT, I always say the best way to increase your chances is to gain unique experience that others at your age wouldn't commonly have. If you don't gain any unique experience, all you'll have to prove yourself are your A-levels which everyone will also have so it won't make much of a difference. In my apprenticeship, the requirements were ABB, but grades are simply an entry point and almost mean nothing when it comes to interviews etc.
Salaam , I heard you could do apprenticeship part time hand you could do college . Do you think I will miss out on anything in college while I do apprenticeship or will I regret doing cs apprentaship. Also my untimate goal is to make my own cs company so is it right to apply to apprentaship or is college just a better option ?
@@SaymaBronte WaAlaykum Salam wrbt. I've never heard of a part time apprenticeship. Just to clarify my apprenticeship is at degree level and not college level i.e it is level 6 not 3. I personally did regular Alevels at college and thoroughly enjoyed it Alhamdulillah. I don't know anyone that did a computer science apprenticeship at college or if that commonly exists so I don't have much of an opinion on it. Choosing an apprenticeship in my case was a way to avoid riba from uni loans, so college wasn't an issue since it's free.
Yo brother, I am in y12 and I want to go to a fintech degree apprenticeship but I currently dont know how to program. I four a levels; maths, econ, french and philsophy. Do you recommend me taking a gap year and getting a fulltime job if I dont get accepted this year? In the gap year I contjnue teaching myself how to program. However I am worried because i didn't do a comp sci a level. Will they care aboit this if I teach myself how to code and make several projects? What do you recommend brother?
You don't need computer science at all, maths is the one they care about more. If U get rejected, taking a gap to improve you programming skills is definitely the way to go - essentially build yourself up to a level where you are too good to be rejected. Self teaching and creating projects is an example of having passion. So definitely do it even from now. Don't assume you'll get rejected first time round, try your best to get in because most people fall into the trap of becoming way too lazy in their gap year.
Salam brother, I wanted to ask how do you get experience, in your previous video you said you can do online courses, if you dont mind can you tell me which websites and which courses would stand out of software developers. Jazakallah
WaAlaykum Salam. It depends where you're applying for. I recommend learning at least one object orientated programming language like Java or c# - there are many courses for these everywhere E.g. RUclips, udemy and Coursera. Putting that on your CV is the bare minimum to improve your chances. Beyond that it's really anything even slightly related e.g. I did some of University of Helsinki's AI course. I did some 5 day coding challenge related to html and CSS. I read a book called 'life 3.0'. Putting these 'extra' things on your CV would make your application a lot more unique and shows that you have passion since you went beyond the normal framework everyone follows (I.e just doing GCSE and A level computer science isn't enough on its own).
Alsalmu Alikum akhi, I wish you all the best I just have one question : do you have any international colleagues ? I mean apprenticee from outside the UK
Salam bro, I have some assessment centers coming up. Could you possibly give some tips. I didn't make it through J.P. Morgan's one but i felt like the experience was beneficial. Jzk bro
WaAlaykum Salam Akhi. Being at the assessment centre stage is very good Allahumma barik. The assessment centres you're referring to are group interviews I'm guessing. I'm going to echo my tip from my last video: try to speak out your line of reasoning as much as possible so the examiners know how you can break down the problem. The other thing is volunteer to keep track of time and regularly keep everyone updated - there's a lot of benefit to this which I mentioned in my previous video. If that doesn't cover your question, lmk Insha'Allah
