This guy is a very sincere teacher. I got on his patron for a while and he talked to me about a bunch of things having to do meditation. I plan to get back on when I have more time.
Thanks for this comment 🙏
The Chinese have always done standing/moving meditations as well, as in their five elements and eight brocades exercises. The late Bruce Lee can be seen using standing /moving meditation(concentrating on target and using Peripheral ) in his fight scenes and tournament demos where he sends people flying. They gather Chi/Qi/Prana and store it in the Dan Tien. My first third eye awakening was while doing standing meditation that started with light movements and ended with closing eyes and a neck lock. This bit from the Tao Te Ching describes how the old masters were in movement/ meditation, and was also used by Bruce Lee.
"Cautious, as if crossing an icy river.
Hesitant, as if fearful of the surroundings.
Reverent, like an honorable guest.
Dispersed, like winter ice began to melt in spring.
Simple and sincere, like a genuine virgin.
Open-minded, like an empty valley.
Harmonized, like the turbid water.
"
My spiritual journey started as a young man in martial arts I found out there was a spiritual side which led me to nearly every spiritual teaching out there including reading The Bible four times. Yoga and every ancient martial art and every religion have something in common they are all paths to enlightenment. I agree that seeing light is not the most important part ,there are far greater gifts there. You are doing a good job at offering information that people may never get from their own teachers.
Thank you Rob! I agree! What a beautiful passage!
Beautiful strong message.
Very interesting. I think you should do a RUclips video or videos. You have a lot of interesting info and experiences.
Thanks ForrestJi, this road map is one of my dearest. Every time I lost track, I come back for it. Thanks from the bottom of my heart dear gurujii 🙏
Lahiri Mahasaya said that when khechari manifests that is the completion of the first chapter of kriya. (There are six)
Now we try to perform life in khechari, living in the sushumna, becoming still, increasing our experience of love, blissful love.
I bow to that guru who revealed to me the correct practice of kriya.
That is perfect, and well said! Duaneji, every time I talk to you, you're going deeper! So amazing.
There are so many videos about meditation and techniques but never found a video like this as scientifically descriptive with steps and techniques and detail. It’s so much clear now to meditate. I had been struggling and frustrated . I’m gonna try your technique from today. Thanks so much.
Great BRU, I hope it serves you well!
Forrest! I love how pragmatic and nerdy you are! It just takes all the weirdness out of it for me and makes it not new agey and just Smart and Useful. I have been meditating for some time. My flat breathing is a very relaxed 3 per minute.... is that TOO SLOW? Sure feels good!
That's awesome, Cole! No, not too slow at all. That's fantastic, and I'll be talking more about these slow breath rates and what is happening in the body. Haha! I'm a total nerd.
You are so gentle , friendly and patient - which I value a lot , thankyou
Terrific and even an upleveling to the two earlier videos on meditation hacks. Yes! Thanks so much for these new (and re-newed) tips!
Thank you so much!
Very interesting stuff Forrest. As I've gotten older, I find it very useful to find little things that help prepare me for my default breath meditations, or help interrupt a physical or mental state that's taken on a life of its own. Thanks very much sharing this.
Wonderful John! Like a Pattern Interrupt. Brilliant.
Love your videos, thanks so much for the beautiful insight ❤️
Iron Tazz! Thank you for watching! I'm so glad they are helpful!

Thank you for your time and sharing your gifts!! You are remarkable!! ❤️✨🥰
Thank you Kara! I'm so glad it's helpful!
Thank you for sharing these very useful tips! I will be mindful of of the throat lock and do it at the start of my meditation or pranayam. 🙏
That's perfect! Just a little goes a long way!
Dude i appreciate your contribution. You have obvious passion and intelligence. Much love brother.
Thank you Balak!
Amazing. I started about a year ago on instinct alone, estimate about 600 hours (am doing a half hour a day). This explains the things I am seeing and some of things I am feeling, as well as giving me more awareness of why. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful, Carl!
another terrific video. very inspiring Forrest, thank you so much!
Thank you! So glad it was inspiring!
I have never heard any of your info before. Ever. Thank you. Really.
You are amazing. Thank you so much. I'm glad I found your excellently explained vidoes
Got no words to express my gratitude.
Perhaps because I'm still learning English LOL.
I'm happy because some of what you've said I have been thinking about but couldn't find someone to tell me if it's right or wrong.
You're incredible
Excellent!
Thank you for these most helpful guidelines!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
I love the way you describe the process of learning kecari... when it takes years, it will take years, so what... but lets get started today and practice everyday. Thats it! Same approach true imo for mastering padmasana. And gladly I can stretch my tongue while practicing lotus, so it doesnt even take extra time :).
That's the perfect attitude! 😊😊

Exactly James
Wow, but more clarification regarding it's link with the pineal gland and the pituitary gland. A big Salute jioji!! 🙏🙏💞❤️🙏🙏🙏💞
Thanks for the videos! Jai Guru!
Thank you for watching!
I remember the late Barefoot Doctor talked about how East Asians were much easily able to shift from fomo game playing teenager mode to - almost zen than the majority of us in the west. Maybe that mudra in question plays a large part.
Now I'm beginning to understated why some Indian traditions perform surgery in order for this to take place. I'll try the exercises 1st, rationally, whilst simultaneously appreciating their dedication to enlightenment, nonetheless.
Great vid, lots of thought provoking stuff.
I enjoy your presentation style. I am excited to watch some more videos. 😍 I must applaud RUclips for sticking you in my feed because it feels like a perfect match to my needs presently. Ty
Wonderful Billie!
Same here. I believe, "When the student is ready, the Master will appear!". I really resonate with Forrest's style of imparting his 'secrets'. Be blessed, my friend! Namaste!
@@youreright just an FYI I will mention, I decided to back up and start from a beginning of sorts and read Forest's Book first. It's called Hacking The Universe and it is as delightful to read as the videos are to watch. It was a steal at 2.99 on kindle.
@@bjmessex Oh, is that so? Thanks for this tip. Heading to Kindle right after this. I'm sorta new with Forrest although I have been following many Meditation gurus on YT over the years. I was wandering if anyone ever focus on a feeling , it's one that's hard to explain this one, unless you've had an out of body experience. It can be intense and a little scary which can snap you out of it. The first time I felt it I was young and had a fever. Laying on my stomach in bed, I could hear yelling in my mind and a pressure or weight on my foread, my vision rocks back and forth. Each time moving further and further back, utill I'm looking at myself Laying in bed from the ceiling.
This starts out crazy but if you read on it’s about meditation lol. My son’s name is Forrest. Like you, he received his name pre Forrest Gump but how many times he’s been asked if he was named after the character in the movie is anyone’s guess. His dad and I told him we would have his name changed if he wanted-just figure out what name you’d like. He never came up with another name he’d prefer to be called and the whole subject was finally put to rest. I apologize for being completely off subject! I’m so glad to have “stumbled” onto your channel! I’ve been trying to find some more advanced methods to get deeper into meditation. I have what I’d describe as pretty extraordinary meditations but I have been practicing for about 10 years. My 3rd eye is partially open snd I see things in meditation-guides, symbols, etc but I don’t hear anything so I don’t really know what most of the visions mean. I often see an opening in what I’d describe as cloud like formations. I either fly through them and/or see beings peering at me from within so they are like a porthole. I don’t feel anything outside of feeling sensations on my head and heart area and sometimes feel what must be the beginnings of kundalini in the root snd sacral chakra area. I’ve never noticed sensations in or on my nose other than cool in, warm out but I’ll take note today.
I do think I feel a shift now that I think about it such as I usually hear a kind of pop sound as I am “clicking in” to the meditation and I’m beginning to see a soft glow and what I’m seeing appears backlit. From there, I see swirling colors and that’s when I begin to see objects /figures such as eyes, faces, animals, beings, symbols and what I call gadgets. I wish I knew what it all means but I’m very grateful for what I do experience. I hope this all makes sense. I will check out your book recommendations and other videos(!). So glad to find you and I’ve both liked this video and subscribed with notifications! Thank you!
Wonderful, Chris! I've always liked having a name that very few have in the world. People don't always hear it correctly, because it's an unusual name. When I'm ordering at a restaurant and they ask for my name, I'll say, "Forrest, like Forrest Gump." so they hear me correctly. Usually gets a laugh or a smile. ... You're in the Download Phase. I have been able to sense subtle energies around my back, that I've developed a habit of cracking and popping my sinus carotids and back mid spine area, behind the heart center.
How it usually goes is, theres a slight pressure buildup behind the midspine back. Then i shrug it, pop left, pop right by doing a quick turn of my head just to releae the pressure making a popping/cracking sound.
Theres a relief, especially a louder popping when i connect the tip of my tongue to the uvula, and gathering the pressure around the mid to upper spine area
It also has led me into a more meditatation quickies. Everytime i want to relieve my back i do a 10-15mins quick sesh just to meditate and pop out all the "pressure" buildup. Usually around 6 times a day, truly nice!
I hope to hear what you can say about this experience.
Thank you so much

Forrest! Thank you for these! I’m eager to try them out. Also - a question - how do I get a copy of lahiri’s recipe? I’m struggling to put the pieces together and I would love a routine to follow! All help appreciated!
Hi Mimi! If you will go on my website and get those first two trainings, and then email me after you have watched them, and we will set up a phone call. There is a little blurb at the bottom left of my website about this. 🙏🤩

Thank you for this video. Is it possible to contact you to ask specific questions. I am blind so some things I am not able to figure out just by listening. I have questions about How to accommodate my blindness while doing certain practices. Thanks so much, look forward to hearing from you.

Do those magic eye posters train that pupil dilation or is that a different mechanism and result?
Your videos are beautiful, I am also making videos on these tours.
Thank you!
Hi thanks for demystifying the process of self actualization. I have been doing vipassna for some time now and it's all about observing the sensations in your body. Until now I just medidated ,I never thought/ knew about the 3rd eye or the other things u r talking about. Is vippasna in itself enough for my purpose ? I am quite content with my life and now my sole aim is enlightenment. It would be great if you can clear my doubt. Thanks, bless you. Rohit
This vid has Miyagi meditation coach written all over it. 👏🏼👏🏼🤣🙏

pls need we need explanation about om kriya and thokar kriya...thanks advance
Hi Samunga, I'm not able to give the kriyas via youtube, however I am planning a series on kriya, and may speak a little of various lines.
Amazing info as always! Quick Question: I noticed my nose "popping" during deep meditation, kind of like when your ears pop when you yawn. Does this sound like the turbinates? Also, it feels like I want to swallow when it opens completely.. should I resist the urge to swallow and allow the sensation to be there or is it ok to swallow (not sure if this effects things, hah)? Appreciate your advice!!
Go ahead and swallow. Yes, that's the turbinates! Perfect!
So a long tounge is a blessing.
It easy for me.
That's great Zack!
Forrest, what would be a good way to learn of Lahiri’s meditation methods. I’ve been a Yogananda practitioner for years, but I’d like to know what he taught. Is there a book, or must I enter a secret induction?? 😉
Thank you for these priceless gems, Sir.
Ashwinji! Thank you! Great to hear from you!
Hey I have some very specific weird things that have went on with me due to some medical issues. I'm wondering if there's a way I can contact you and have a discussion about some of them? I have not been able to really find any help on a lot of the matters and things are not working for me in the same way that they have for other people. I think almost all that might be something that you have a good idea about and also would help you with more content as well.

Dear Forrest....
I have followed the instructions from your Khechari Mudra videoes and have been able to perform this mudra.... Thanks for your unique videoes....
I practice khechari mudra during my kriya pranayam only...
Would it be better to practice khechari mudra during after meditation I practice ? Please advise......
Amazing Roshan, congratulations! Yes you can practice this all day as you are able and it's a wonderful way to bring the interior world of meditation outside into your outside life.
How is functions of vagus nerve connected to medulla oblongata
The vagus begins in the medulla and wanders through the body. The medulla is the breath center in the brain.
Hello dear Forrest, I am trying to apply your precious pieces of advice and to go a little deeper into my meditation. Yesterday, though, I felt like I was spinning. After a while, I stopped my meditation. Did sth go wrong? Or is it normal and I should keep going? Thanks in advance. Have a nice day and week! Ps : you need to know that your previous video on disidentification process has changed the way I see things. Thank you!
Nothing wrong; far from it. I talk about this sensation in the video about Lahiri Baba's 3 knots. That's the sensation accompanying the 3rd one. You'll definitely want to watch that one. So, perfectly normal, and best to just relax and enjoy. ...I'm so glad you are getting such great benefit!!
@@ForrestKnutson Just watched the video about the 3 knots. Amazing! Thanks a lot, Forrest!
Wonderful!! You're so welcome!
Actually if you are feeling this during neck flexion-his 1st demo-stop doing it. It may mean you have carotid stenosis (narrowing) made worse by this maneuver. I am a cardiologist .
This is called Jalandhar Banda in pranayama!
be still close eyes listen to your breathing = anapana sati. rest in nonreferential awareness. don't overthink it. peace.
I just watch my sensations while I sleep and it gives me perfect rest !is it okay to not to fall asleep ?
That is a fantastic practice. Usually called, "Yoga Nidra."
You do want a certain amount of sleep with no memory, so that the body has a chance to recover.
Nice I think u deserve to go to Isha foundation where sadhguru's meditation and yoga training center in india. He is a famous monk
Thank you Sunil. I was a monk for 5 years, already. Not with Isha, but elsewhere.
@@ForrestKnutson where at?
Thank you, Forest. I would very much like to get a family member to meditate/practice slowing her breathing down below 7 bpm. She's very high strung. She seems to be in a constant state of anxiousness. There is probably a broad spectrum of benefits of meditation. What are the practical benefits of meditation, especially for stressed-out people who are not necessarily interested in becoming a Yogi? Thank you!
I just made a list for you. These are all HRV Resonate Breathing related.
1. Reduced Cortisol
2. Increased Vagal Tone
3. Parasympathetic Balance
4. Increased Clarity
5. Sense of Wellbeing
6. Increased Longevity
7. Deeper Sleep
8. Easier Inspiration
9. Increased Intuition
10. Emotional Coherence
