Thank you so much for explaining your way through this repair. Im a Green Horn and mostly self taught through trial and error and bringing home broke appliances and fixing them even if they aren't worth it. I'm close to starting Master Samurai courses so I can convert my business to mostly appliance repair. Which I thankfully learned about master Samurai courses from your previous videos! Glad your back doing videos again man!

Great video Taylor. I see a lot of issues on those units in our area. We use the GE newfi tool to diagnose those pretty regularly. A lot of them have heat element issues that coincide with the control board, and a lot of door wiring harness issues as well. I have also seen quite a few dead ones, only to find that the harness connection down by the J box is inadequate. I've rewired a good few of those, which is tough, due to the space constraints. Anyhow if you run into the dead ones try jiggling the harness, mainly the center, neutral connection is mainly what I've seen.
    Cheers, Todd

Todd Olsen I’ve heard of the newfi tool but have never used one. Can anyone get them or just GE techs?

I think its a ge thing, they cost a bit, but are pretty handy, and are probably going to be mandatory at this rate. Becoming a ge tech does not cost money though. You do have to fill out forms and whatnot, but once your in, your in. It's a good move as they have some of the best tech assistance out there. You'll also get some warranty work from them.

My GE dishwasher wouldn't drain so I just replaced the Drain Pump and still there is water on the bottom and no draining. Maybe it could be circuitry board like you mentioned. Could also be the flood switch.

The flood switch is a common problem for these GE dishwashers.

I work for a company that is building out simulation content for Appliance Repair and we're looking for a subject matter expert to help build out that content area. I'd love to pick your brain on all of these types of things. We've built an Electric Range Diagnostics simulation and Dishwasher Diagnostics simulation, our existing SME retired and we're looking for a new one. Let me know if you have any interest. This stuff is awesome!
