Thanks... called Sennheiser in CT.... they no longer will service EW G2... Could not even tell me where to go for help or parts.... I know it's been a while for the G2 series but it's not a model T Ford!!! At least send us to a dealer or company for help.. "Full Compass" out of Texas has the parts.... Thanks for the detailed video.....really helpful!! Ordered 6 antenna today....
As I'm disassembling it, I see that two of the screws on the back of the circuit board -- the two I don't need to remove -- *are* Torx 6. So perhaps they made a change during the production run. The moral of the story: Have a full set of Torx screwdrivers on hand!
More differences: Those two screws that you "don't need to remove" on your version? On mine, they're actually holding the circuit board to the tabs (which aren't in danger of falling out). Continuing on...
dude thank you so much! you're a great instructor and made a daunting task easy (i was sure i was gonna screw something up and ruin the whole unit). it works perfectly. peace
Thanks for this great video. I know my way around in electronics, but it is such a comfort to have your way cut out. No "though" decisions like: should I unscrew this or that...
I've recentely had to replace my G2 antenna. And it was very easy and quick. They are actually super cheap to buy as well, I've bought 6 antennas for under 25$ at Trew Audio.
Helpful video, thanks. Do you know about what temp your iron was at? You said low, but you have a different iron than mine. Just a ballpark would help. Thanks.
Brooks; Excellent video. I just received a 486-558MHz antenna for my Sennheiser EK100 G2 receiver. It was supposed to be the 518-554MHz, which is the correct one. (from B&H) Would you know if this 486-558MHz will work correctly? It appears to be a tad longer than the one on the receiver.
Hello friend and thank you for your videos ! I have a question hoping you can answer it and help me, I would like to combine the SAMSON DE10 Headset Microphone with the SONY UTX-B03 Bodypack Transmitter, Of course, I already tried and found that they were not compatible ! Is there an adapter for this on the market ? If not, what do you think is the best way to make them compatible ? Thank you very much in advance !
Great video! the tips of my transmitter bodypack are frayed, as metal wires poke through the black plastic wrap. Can this cause audio problems like "digital clipping" and noise? Can i simply re-wrap the antenna with electrical tape or do I need to fully replace like you did? Thanks!
Hello great video, I have a pair of G2. I was wondering where I could find them. Do you happen to know of any place, I looked it up on Sennheiser website but apparently they don't longer sale them.
I see this was made long ago. I ordered a new antenna and a T6 screwdriver from Amazon but the driver is way too small. They must have changed the size. Does anyone know the current size? I figured I would ask before contacting Sennheiser.
This is a great tutorial. I managed to install 4 of the Antenna on my older units. Bought my Antenna from Andorra Camera in New Jersey for only like $6.95 each.
Such a big help for me, thanks for the clear and concise video! Made the whole process of figuring out the disassembly a breeze!
Thanks tons, bro, tomorrow I will be replacing 4 of these for a client, great info on how to take it apart correctly. Blessings from Venezuela
You're welcome, thanks for posting a comment!
... this is absolutely what I needed! Now to order my antennae!

Thank you for the step by step instructions on how to replace the antenna. The video was thorough and very well done. It helped me immensely!
You are welcome! Glad you found the information helpful and thanks for posting the comment!
Thanks so much for posting this! One note: The screws on the back of my unit are Torx 8, not Torx 6.

My pleasure! Sorry I'm 10 years late on the reply!

If you have a temperature setting on your soldering iron set it for medium heat.
You want to be able to melt the solder but not too hot.

Hi. very good the video, can you tell me where I find to buy the antenna for my bodypack ek 300 g3? thank you

Hey! was wondering the same thing? Did you end up using electrical tape? Will that work?
You use heat-shrink tubing, get the right size to snugly fit over and then heat it with a lighter.
I need to replace the battery holder in one of my units, how is the holder connected to the PCB? Thanks
Great video, thank you very much for posting!
hey, do you know if its possible to replace the antenna with a high range antenna?
where to buy a new antenna ?

Did you end up finding a replacement? I'm looking right now, with not much luck.

where to buy an antenna, ask for a link, thanks
I have not tried replacing the antenna with anything other than the stock antenna.
