Hello, congratulation for having found a SMA panel mount that does not require grinding!! I did some more research after watching your video and a longer SMA threaded connector with the same 2 hole flange that fit the G4 does not seem to exist. Does it not feel too short to connect the antenna? The fact that you do not have space to screw washer and nut does not make it loose after a while ? Thanks - Fred
Hey, yes, some people want longer threads, but I think it's good enough, seems to hold very secure, I also stick tiny piece of neoprene foam on top of connector, cheers
@@rastop1 Hello Rastop1, I did the mod with the connector you recommend: yes it holds very securely no pb from that. But it is too short for some antennas: you cannot screw up to the point that the actual antenna (connected to the pin) is totally blocked so it is a bit loose inside the screw part. it seems to work fine though, so male pin seems to remain in contact with female enough.
@@freds7160 Hey, yes some people copmplained about this, there are some longer SMA jacks, but installation is much more complicated, involves epoxy, etc. But if you are DIY guy, go for it. Or just find antennae with short mounting plug.
How do I get an already cut sma connector so I can simply solder it into my g3 and g4 mics. I am in Uganda and don't have all the tools and don't wanna mess using a file to grind down on the connector. I would be glad to buy the connectors from someone who's already ground them down to fit into my receivers and transmitters. I need about 8 pairs. Thanks lots for the help.
The SMA isn't securely mounted on the unit by the 2 holes. If you keep screwing on SMA antennas or use a SMA to BNC adapter, sooner or later the mod will start getting loose. Just my 2c. I would just buy a body pack with a SMA already installed like the Vocopro Digitals.
Hey, if you DIY, you'll have to find SMA plug, piece of stiff wire ( steel of alike) and do some soldering/heat shrinking. The length depends on the band, I think you can buy premade antennae. Good luck!

Hey James, you don't need to file, just cut center wire with wirecutters, the connector itself fits perfectly! Get the right one though, like in video

it's secure enough held by metal body, didn't have failures yet🙂
