Thank you for posting this interview. As an educator myself, I found some of the insights during the discussion very valuable. 'In order to be competent in the tribe, you need to know the tribe' , the importance of shared background knowledge and hence better communication in order to have a highly effective classroom etc. I look forward to reading 'How to educate a citizen'.
David, I have something that may change your views and opinions, relative to this video. Let me know if you’d like to have a discussion, who knows maybe you’ll point out a flaw in what I have. No matter your decision (except in the scenario that what I have is not correct, which I’m thoroughly analyzing in respect to due diligence.) it’s likely you’ll hear about what I’m irking on once it’s published.
It cannot be evaluated through traditional educational processes but requires assessment over time. Knowledge builds upon previous knowledge and unless someone devises a comprehensive test that measures what a person knows, understands, or has been exposed to. It would resemble a comprehensive exam that would determine the person's level of competence.

We were 'ivolved' to create culture... perhaps we may 'involve' to uncreate it in the future... who knows...
How is cultural literacy evaluated?
It cannot be evaluated through traditional educational processes but requires assessment over time. Knowledge builds upon previous knowledge and unless someone devises a comprehensive test that measures what a person knows, understands, or has been exposed to. It would resemble a comprehensive exam that would determine the person's level of competence.
