You always have the most beautiful gear setup in such beautiful rooms! Good for you Tharbamar! The spoils of hard work and success!
Thanks for your support.
I love how careful you are with this beautiful dream machine. Hope to own one someday.
Such a gorgeous piece!! I was drooling the entire video. Can’t wait to see your official review!
It's so elegant! I love to hear your professional opinions on this wonderful integrated amp, enjoy, and have a great day Sir.
It's stunningly beautiful.
How you know RUclips is really one huge commercial?
The birth of ‘ unboxing ‘ videos.
These are commercials fellas wake up.
Nothing wrong with that.
It is what it is
It’s something called hobby, I don’t get paid from manufacturers.
Congrats on the Accuphase!
Beautiful machine and it's class AB my favorite sound thanks for sharing this Amazing video
Congratulations mate ... Very nice looking and sounding amp ... It's always nice when you get audio equipment that has been constructed with Passion and care ... A keeper for sure ... Kind Regards Brother ... 😎
Hello from Montreal, I just ordered the E-4000 last week. Waiting for the delivery. I think the size and weight is perfect. The E-800 was so tempting but so heavy to move with the cost quite a bit more. I added the phono preamp card to it. This replaces some Mcintosh separates. I’m lucky Accuphase prices are a little cheaper in Canada. Take care
What made you choose the E-4000?
I grown up in Japan 🇯🇵
@@Tharbamar Great, I’m looking forward to getting my E-4000
Beautiful piece of equipment. Their site says 180 watts/channel @ 8 ohms which is unusual for Accuphase. They and Luxman always seem to market their amps on the lower end of output. Particularly Luxman. Can't say I've been a fan of how they handle DACs and phono stages. Managing them like any card you plug into a PC always seemed to cheapen the product. But it's really a smart move overall. If you have the ability, you should hold onto it.
A aspirational piece for sure. Beautiful
This amp and the harbeth 30.2 xd are my dream team, that is all you need. Have fun with it.
One of the best
Jan Akkerman on the stage 😉 very good 👍 enjoy 😊
Looks so retro. Love the asthetics.
Keeping the tradition, still successful and independent, most likely only Accuphase in this industry.
Big leap in audio experience any reason for not choosing equivalent Luxman 507 series. Appreciate if you compare it side by side with your Denon S1.
Plz get it side by side comparison with Luxman 509x at some point!
Hi !!! I would like to now , how you compare it to the denon amplifier that you use frequently in past videos !!!! Thank you
Wow. Really beautiful Amp. 😮
It better be pretty. The guts inside the pretty box only tally up to about $300 in electronics. So the box itself is setting you back about $15,000. Must be made of solid platinum or gold huh?
Hopefully this will be your new reference integrated amp.
Bueno el desempaque de los Acufase.
Owning a Accuphase is on my bucket list 😊
I can’t wait for your review.
Btw, what’s the difference between E4000 and E480.
Both are class AB.
E-4000 is E-480 replacement with some good improvements.
Would you consider the McIntosh MA 9500? Here in the US it retails for $12,000 but the E-4000 with phono module retails for 16K and that is with a new distributor who has lowered the prices; still too high IMHO. The Michi X5 now on a new iteration called Series 2 retails for 8K! The Technics SU-R1000 retails for 10K; based on these prices which would you choose?
❤ wonderful
Accuphasse grande marque de légende la référence hifi
Thank you to share this example of marvelous machine. I want the E380 ❤️
What was the last title played please ?
Hi, Excellent reviews. I have listened Accuphase amps, the sound signature is not for me. Accuphase is adding to much of its own signature to the sound! which doesn't sound natural to me. I would like a detailed bass , but highs cannot be too bright! a balanced mellow sound, with detail and a big soundstage. I am very interested in the one you currently own, the Denon pma-sx11. But also interested in the Denon pma-sx1 Limited. Do you know anyone who owns the Limited edition? wondering if SX1 is everything you love in your sx11, but more of it.? or is the SX1 limited due to the upgrades more analytical and unforgiving...I currently own the Denafrips Venus 2 and my source is the Sonore Opti Ultra Rendu streamer. My speakers are the Sonus Faber Electra Amator III
I thought your description is how most describe their Accuphase experience. Can you elaborate what amp you heard and why you didn't like it ?
Accuphase VS Denon ?
What's better ?
Very nice amp! Inderdaad onze Jan A. 😊
Quelle est votre coup de coeur ❤️ entre votre amplificateur denon et le accuphasse cordialement
dream system
The Denon advantage is that it uses a single pair of Mosfets per channel. One Mosfet pushes and the other pulls. You could say this amp speaks with a single voice per channel. As far as i know the amps which use multiple pairs of mosfets or bipolars per channel, even if they are matched for the simple reason the manufacturing technique today does not allow to make two 100% identical transistors. For this reason and because there’s distance between many pairs of transistors these amps do create more phase rotations and sing with more than one voice=transistors per channel.
So the SX11 having 120watts from just a pair of mosfets is an accurate winner in my opinion.
Finally a good amp…
Thanks for sharing.
Hm.. Their phono preamp looks to be great. Paralleled discrete transistors, a high current front-end, independent power for relays, etc.
PS Do you have an idea, sir, why no one manufacturer "warms up" their equipment? ) May be they know very well that your EARS need a warming up?
Every equipment needs warming up even after sitting for a while.
@@Tharbamar If no manufacturers mention this neither in their operational manuals, these are city legends. None of blind test is on YT with a fresh new and "warmed up" equipment. Cause such test will show nothing (of course, this is YT, its quality is not enough, and so on...). The only "warming up" that makes sense is a mechanical stress of speaker membranes and membrane shoulders relieving.
If you hear(!) a difference that does not mean there is(!) a difference.
If you can’t hear the difference doesn’t makes it truth, if you know your system you don’t need blind test because you know it my heart.
Precioso
Gonna bee sweet after sum hours on it! Njoy!
you get a like for bring something like this to the lab to compare to sx 11
It's a very expansive material which is can be replaced by materials with very good sound at lower price.
Hi. What happens to the Denon PMA SX11? Have you sold it? will you continue to use it? My opinion is that SX11 is a superior amplifier to this Accuphase, and i bet no one knows why ! :)
I haven’t decided it yet, I will let you know soon, thanks
What is the price of e4000 ?
9-10k in the US? They are charging like 13k usd.
❤❤❤❤
How does it compare to your denon?
I haven’t tried back to back yet
Perfect 👌
Kudos
How quiet is that phono stage?
Can you hear any noise out of the speakers when cranked up ?
No noise at all.
Must be new model as only heard E-480 and it was beguiling !😮
Awhile back, didn't you audition an accuphase amp before you settled on the Denon? Sorry, my memories not the best.
Yes it was E-480.
@@Tharbamar how much of a difference between 480 and 4000 to make you want to buy/demo again?
I will have it my review.
Where did you buy it?
It’s Sample
I wish more audio components had finishes like this and NOT all black! I has a 90's Panasonic receiver thay had a silver/gold finish and still sounds good...Black looks Soo cheap!
Yep in Japan black color is mostly for budget components.
Very nice. Did you consider the Luxman L-509X...?
Someday, somewhere there's going to be a video of someone unboxing a box full of empty boxes.
Someone will watch it, but it won't be me.
Someday, someone will actually read the title.
What's up with the gloves
Gloves are must, you won’t know or appreciate if you don’t handle many components.
Does it exist in 220V version? Or only 100V?
There are 220v versions of all accuphase integrated amps
It will probably sound amazing, but I have always had a hard time getting past that colour scheme of Accuphase's equipment. I know the colour is called champagne gold or something similar, but all I see is an amplifier that has been standing in the sun for too long and got bleached.
Very dangerous equipment, Accuphase. Must wear gloves😂
I had a feeling it was an Amp.
sorry but when I see the electronics (~3:00 minutes), it seems something from the 80s or 90s (it's light years away from smartphone electronics or other wearable electonics). It seems to be a 10$ card but I guess this is a 1000$ or more when I see below 16k$ for the amplifier.
I'm a bit perplexed about his statement that the amp stopped sounding flat after playing it a while. Amps are designed to be ruler flat so if it stopped sounding flat the amp broke lol
You are mistaken when it comes to sound amplification technology. It DOESN'T need micro chip! Only some very good manufactured transistors, inductors, capacitors and so on. A micro chip does not amplifies electrical signals...
@@xmj6830 Incorrect, integrated circuit chips are widely used in low quality amplifiers, ranging from 0,5w to 50w in power. But you're right in that an amplifier does not need any digital parts and even class D amps are analog, not digital.
@@xmj6830 you would be surprised with what micro chip components can do. 1000$ for a MM/MC phono stage card. Compare to an Iphone at 1000$. Look at a teardown and see what's inside. These are not poor quality components (display, few camera sensor, Application processor, wifi, bluetooth, GPS, PCB layers (not two or four layers), etc....). Even selling iphone at 1000$, margin is > 50%. I cant' imagine the margin for this card. The main reason to be so expensive is that they should sell few hundreds units per year. Manufacturing cost is higher and they need very high margin to pay salary end of the month
@@Fafou-jx4qp Did I say that phones are poor qualities?! Re-read my message before posting. I was talking about amplification of electrical signals, not what's inside a phone...
Only 180 Watts per channel in 8 Ohms using Class A/B amp tech. I have a Sampson Pro 4U SX-1800 class A/B that puts out 400 Watts / ch into 8 ohms at .01% distortion. Mine cost me $400 brand new about 8 years ago. So this one should cost about what.. say $250 or so? Just curious.
Watt’s don’t define sound quality
@@darrenburtoft1792 Neither does a fancy case they charge you tens of thousands of dollars for with a simple amp circuit inside that you could build yourself for a few hundred dollars.
@@AudioGuyBrian I’ll freely admit there is lots of value to be had out there and cost is not everything as I have many affordable chi-fi headphone amps I enjoy, but that amp you just mentioned has to be the most hideous gdamn thing I’ve ever seen especially those two cooling ports on the ends that look like my old CRT TV when it loses its signal lol. I’m sure the two massive fans add some white noise coloring to your sound too. I put a premium on equipment that I like to look at and admire while listening to music because I think it hits the dopamine receptors harder which overrides any measurement tests. Same reason you put nice pretty artwork up on the wall and not ugly black squares or arrange your furniture in formation instead of chaotically cluttered. Music is an experience not a science test. I don’t think a ugly black steel rack that looks like my last job’s IT room is going to bring me happiness no matter how good it sounds.
Also Accuphase isn’t “tens of thousands” of dollars. The E-4000 can be had for $5-$6k on eBay direct from Japan. Accuphase’s US middleman sellers are notorious for doubling or tripling the actual msrp. Pricy but not obscene. It’s the cost of two maxed out gaming computers and unlike those it doesn’t become obsolete in 4-5 years.
I’d love to see you “tally up” the parts in that sports car in your profile, now you want to talk about overpriced luxury purchases I mean come on…
@@mikeg2491 Actually the fans only come on when it is at near full power for a long period of time, and when they do come on, the volume from the speakers is well over 140 dB so you never hear the fans that scare you so much. Also, amps are made to be heard not seen. This is a rack amp in a rack with other gear. It is in a separate room from where I listen to music so none of the EQ's, the amps for other sets of speakers, the mixer, tuner, Disc player and Tape Deck are all out of sight. The only thing in my listening room / Home bar is the speakers. Lots of speakers. Now, I understand that some people need to see tubes falsely lit by LEDs under them or large blue meters, shiny engraved or laser cut aluminum cases that surround their amps to enjoy the sound more somehow. I am still not sure how Blue meters or LEDs make the audio less distorted or give it more dynamic range. Maybe LEDs and Giant Blue Meters generate some kind of sound field / Gravity waves that extend to the speakers that makes the on-axis sound more linear. IDK.
Going to be a shame when he packs up the denon pma sx11
Yep... but...u can tell...he likes it... !

try speed 1.25 :D
Why am I watching a Ninja opening this?
A big jump.....
The truth is out...
Why the gloves 🤣😂🤣
Watching someone slowly unbox something is a tedious waste of time. I want to know about the app but a true audio reviewer would not do this. I'm off
