For the longest time I didn't realize that the website names the opening moves at the top, so I always assumed that when NL would say "Our opponent is going with the Leonardo Bernacci Defense, accelerated second Sicilian variation" I thought he was making stuff up and honestly it was like 100% funnier to me. Now it's like finding out your favorite magic trick isn't real.

2 minutes in and NL has manufactured a series of blunders kickstarted by missing the most intuitive bishop block on the skewer, leading him to believe his queen was lost. A true agent of chaos

It's so crazy being 300 rating worse than Ryab but when I'm watching him I see better moves than him, yet when I play myself, I am significantly worse. I guess that's the beauty of playing and jumping in and out of paying close attention to the play without any of the pressure of actually playing.
I also mean no disrespect, I'm aware it's much harder to play while trying to be entertaining.

    • @Jabbersac

He's addressed this in the past, with the justification that "good players play on interval, and I only want to play against bad players." I don't know how accurate this is overall, but I'm a very bad player who plays on interval, so that does count against his contention
