Yes finally! Iwas waiting desperately for the next video. I have everything on hand to get going with my automation. Keep up the great work, as I mentioned earlier, I really like the way you present this topic and you teaching style hits the spot.

Heads up for anyone watching this now, as I've just discovered “In Mosquitto 2.0 and up, you must choose your authentication options explicitly before clients can connect. In earlier versions, the default is to allow clients to connect without authentication.“ Your ESP32 won't connect unless you do this by editing the conf file in Mosquito via the Pi. Details how to do it can be found via google :) Hope that helps someone.

By far the most informative and easy to understand set of videos I've found! It has really made a difference in my understanding of the process, as a complete beginner with big ideas this is really exiting! Can't wait for the next video!! Thanks for taking the time to make these.

Yes, if only computer sciences were taught in this manner 55 years ago, I can only wonder of how different the present day could be. Who knows, perhaps I could have an automatic hail screen that would unwind on its own in advance of a hailer. Happy Gardening! Stay Spicy! -Bob...

I am considerably behind in this series but following closely. I notice that you have a Raspi4 as a server. Two questions will a lesser / older Pi be OK, is there a need for the 4 version and two des it have to be a Pi? can it be a Linux Box in general?
You may have answered this already for someone else but I have not seen it.

if you aren't going to be running too many devices, or complex dashboards then you could even use a raspberry pi zero. an old Linux box will work fine too. the raspberry pi 4 is a powerhouse with a relatively small power consumption. so for me is perfect.
