I don't think it's possible, because in the secret ending, basil smiles to sunny after sunny's confession of the truth or after understanding, what Sunny's gonna tell the friends

nah, just basing it off the lyrics from Good Morning, the real point of the Good Ending is that at the very least, Sunny and Basil can now start anew with the regrets of their past actions no longer behind them
even though it's supposed to be left to the player's interpretation whatever happened afterwards, i just can't ever ignore the possibility that the lyrics from Good Morning are directly tied to it
Not gonna lie, Aubrey's response here was both incredibly human and spot on to what I thought would happen.
Just the whole wants to hit him, but feels so broken up after just connecting back with everyone that she just... Can't bring herself to do it. Thus, conflicted and in pain, she simply walks out.

Aubrey with Colette’s expression is genuinely upsetting. Aubrey is already more violent after four years, but her hesitating to slap Sunny could also be her way of remembering how she also made the same mistake by almost killing Basil. But at the same time she just can’t look at Sunny right now.
Also I can totally see Aubrey riding a motorcycle.

It's likely that the friend group wouldn't forgive Sunny/Basil for a long time, but that's okay. The game was about Sunny overcoming his trauma/guilt and learning to forgive himself. At the end of the game he resolved himself to the fact that he might become hated, but he has to move forward and reveal the truth regardless.

I think I could forgive Sunny he's practically innocent it was an accident, but Basil I don't think I could forgive him, he made the situation so much worse.
I think in a few years I could understand and forgive him because he was a child and dumb, but I don't any friendship could be salvaged

It’s so sad of a story and there’s really no right answer. I can’t bring myself to hate or feel like either of them where fully in the wrong and did a horrible thing. I feel like that’s the point though, the game isn’t telling you what to think. The game builds up sunny and basil then shows the accident, it’s so well done. Basil is probably my favorite character and that definitely makes him seem better to me. I never got the impression he’s at all evil but rather he’s just a confused and terrified kid. They were still so young in the game it makes sense that he wouldn’t want to admit to anything. Obviously what he did isn’t justified but I can see why he did it. I think that’s why I love his character so much, there’s so much depth and interest surrounding it.

@@morgenster3583 basil was in complete denial and in an almost psychotic State trying to cover up for Sunny, and sunny kept his mouth shut about Mari.
I dont think you get to put different blame on Sunny and Basil, its either they are both kids who were put in a bad situation, or they are both murderers, one being the one who actually killed Mari and the other being the accomplice who thought of a way to escape punishment.
In fact, many interpreted the story incompletely.
Sunny thought that Mari had died in the fall, either not knowing how to check if she was alive or not, or thinking that she had stopped breathing. He became desperate and Basil, who saw it all, decided to help with the idea of suicide to protect his friend. After they forged everything, Basil looked back (which is that moment with him red-eyed looking back and being horrified and in his eye is Something), after seeing that Basil had stopped running, Sunny look in the direction he was looking and he wished he hadn't, he literally felt sick. In the description of the photos of what happened, it is emphatic that Mari had her eyes closed, as if she was sleeping, so the open eye is what really torments them, which is Something, as they unintentionally murdered Mari. In one of the photos, it is said that Sunny wanted to ask for help, but he was scared because no one would understand that it was just an accident.
That's why Basil apologizes all the time, that's why Basil says that when he tries to help, he makes things worse, that's why Basil asks for forgiveness, that's why Omori kills him several times in different ways in Black Space, including even when we choose in saving Basil, Omori kills him. Because Basil came up with the idea to hang her, at one point she woke up (either from the shock of suffocation) and looked directly at them. There's an explanation on reddit of the difference between what happens to a living body and a dead body.
Their fault, and Omori's eventual desire to forget about Basil or wish he didn't exist, is that Basil, not Sunny, actually killed Mari.
Look on reddit for the description of the Black Space photos, there everything is clearer, it's Basil's vision narrating what Sunny felt and thought at that moment.

Maybe with some occassional rage. Pretty on point.

If they had a group hug after a day, I think it's realistic they become friends again after a year, with the Lessons Kel and Hero learned about not being there for their friends and generally recent experience. I just thought of something, a possible headcannon. Probably something for a postgame: Sunny needs a way to cope after moving away, knowing his friend probably wont forgive him for a long time. He resorts, not to the dream world, but to music. He starts pouring his emotions into music, relearning to play the violin, and possibly try to learn the piano in honor of his sister. Sunny starts to become more emotional, not by words, but music. His artistic name? *Omori*, his former dream self. Wether his music reaches his friend's ears or not, one thing's for sure: He is truly sorry for making them go through so much for nearly 5 years...

Yeah? but no? you must consider these factors when discussing wether the group forgives him:
-What sunny did was an accident
-What basil did wasnt an accident
-Sunny saved basils life
-Basil stabbed Sunny's eye out
-Sunny was originally going to tell, but basil stopped him. Therefor basil is responsible for keeping it a secret
-Sunny isn't responsible for keeping maris death as secret because of he didn't know it himself. He had severe trauma and ptsd. It was only after reconfronting his freinds was he able to remember the truth.
-even though Basil clearly has severe mental health issues, they don't involve forgetting. Basil knew the entire time.
The real question isn't wether the group is able to forgive Sunny, its wether their able to to forgive Basil. Sunny is innocent, Basil Isn't.

Anyway, the good ending is very ambiguous so everyone can interpret it in their own way, for me the first to forgive would be Kel and who knows Aubrey would also forgive them after a while...but Hero is the most unpredictable maybe he would forgive them but he would be hiding his anger...or something worse.
My interpretation of the good ending is Kel's initial reaction is being shocked but forgiving Sunny and Basil. For Hero and Aubrey I think their initial reactions are gonna be angry and possibly lashing out against Sunny and Basil but after a few days of thinking about what Sunny did, I believe they're gonna forgive Sunny because what he did was an accident. Basil on the other hand is debatable considering what Sunny did was an accident, Basil came up with the idea of hanging Mari's body which was completely intentional in order to protect Sunny. Leaving everybody to blame themselves for not seeing the "signs".
tl;dr sunny forgiven, basil probably not

Au idea:after the good ending only sunny and basil are still friends and sunny is living in a new human. This is when aubrey runs away from home to come to him to talk about dreams she is having containing mari. It becomes more and more clear that this is head space
It sounds interesting but I don't know why I feel like that could go wrong.
Also Hero would have his own Headspace but a murky one for obvious reasons.....I can't imagine his Blackspace where quite possibly he will practice surgery with Sunny and cook meals with basil (as an ingredient).

Besides Kel, Hero and Omori's lines at the end, I feel like this would be very similar to how it would go down. Just, silence from everyone.
Hero, who was in love with Mari and loved Sunny so much - is torn knowing he spent the last 4 years believing the girl he loved killed herself, most likely because she was unhappy, blaming himself - Now is bombed with the truth, that it was all an accident caused by Sunny who finally found enough strength to spill it - Can't find the right words to say, should he be angry? Relieved? Hateful? Sad? And just leaves in silence to process the truth.
Kel, who was shocked from the truth - wanted to show his support for everyone, including Sunny and Basil but was overwhelmed with emotions, especially from the way his brother reacted. Worried, he hurried to follow Hero, unable to look Sunny in the eyes.
And finally...
Aubrey.
I'm unsure if it's true or not, but she had a crush on Sunny. She also knows the pain of dealing with a loss alone. Yet, she was enraged at the truth, that what she knew was all a lie, orchestrated by Basil and played by both Sunny and Basil. She just wants to let it all out and give them what they deserve. But a moment before she lands her hit, she recalled it. How Sunny, too, suffered. She then saw it flash before her eyes, him isolating himself for 4 whole years most likely due to his guilt and trauma. The reason why him and Basil were brought to such a poor state both physically and mentally. She saw it as clear as day, that despite it all, like her, no, MORE than her... He loved Mari... And that he might've suffered enough.
Torn between her feelings, she is unable to hit him, doesn't know what to say. And like Hero, she just leaves in silence to process her thoughts and emotions.
I also feel like the piano playing in the background is spot on. Maybe if such a scene were added, it would be a very slow and melancholic version of the main menu theme.
I do believe they will forgive him and Basil, but not for a long time. And as for them being friends again... It would take a miracle for that to happen.
Then again, Sunny getting to this point after what happened to Mari, and overcoming his weaker self was a miracle by itself... So who knows? Maybe them being friends again isn't too far fetched...
Pretty accurate, but I'm pretty sure Sunny was the one who had a crush on Aubrey, due to her being obsessed with Omori in Headspace

It's honestly the most likely scenario. Basil and sunny are still friends though. And probably kel too.

Nah omori wouldn’t return at all. My interpretation of the ending is that sunny realizes that they might not forgive him but he sees that even if they don’t, it would’ve been worth it to get rid of his secret, so that he can make new friends when he moves
It also helps the others make peace with the whole ordeal. They all mention they have no idea why she would've done it, and its very likely that the mere idea of Mari killing herself is something they'd be stuck on in the whole grieving and moving on process. Sunny revealling the truth with Basil, no matter how terrible, still allows everybody to heal properly. Even if they very well might never speak again because of it.
Something the game also doesn't really touch on directly is that you really don't keep your long distance friends without a whole lot of effort from both sides. So with Sunny moving right away, and then by extension becoming a memory of hurt regarding Mari, I honestly don't think that even if they did forgive him that they would successfully keep in contact with him.
I'm glad we didn't see what happen honestly. It's sad though because they can either forgive Sunny and Basil or they can just get pissed at Sunny and Basil.
For me it goes lile the rest of the movie, in that order (minus all the Linguini rejects Remy segments. I meant mostly the order of the characters coming back)
Yeah, I mean, Aubrey bullied Basil merely for the thought that he blacked out the photos. When I first passed through I figured she was in on knowing he did something to Mari. If the blacked out photos was enough to upset her that much she definitely wouldn't have been able to forgive either of them without an epilogue.
And Hero of course still has plenty of his own issues about Mari.
Kel would probably have the best chance of forgiving since he's so simple, but I think he'd be upset about how much you end up hurting everybody else with your actions. So he might still take a couple of days to process everything, at which point you still would have already moved.

Wow actually got me feeling some kinda way out of no where. And with Rat Chef Movie out of everything
What I got from the good ending is that Sunny was well aware of the outcome of confessing the truth to his friends, but this time he doesn't return back to his old ways. During his face-off with OMORI, OMORI throws anything that would break Sunny's spirit, including what can certainly be said as the direct consequence following his confession. But when Sunny refuses to back down even after OMORI throws everything that he could think of, he finally understands that Sunny no longer needs to rely on him; so he disappears. OMORI accepts that Sunny is truly prepared to face the consequences of his actions, even if it means that he will most likely lose his friends, and will be going to prison for a very long time.

I don't like to think that they don't forgive him even if that's unrealistic I like to think that the ending was an open ending because sometimes life is hard but it gives hope and if you believe they forgive him then that's the reality.
Also basil being remi was so perfect
In my own experience, I think it was left open because in part it was also suppose to be Sunny forgiving himself as well. The story was in Sunny's mind and his pain pushing him to the edge of death in part because he couldn't forgive himself.
A bit of both yours and mine I think, in the end.
Remember the rest of the movie :) they all come back after a long while. I get why they didn't show it but this exemplifies my headcanon very well
I personally think it’s realistic if Hero doesn’t forgive him. Maybe even Aubrey too, considering how many times she visited Mari’s grave, wondering why Mari did it… only to find out the truth.

Yeah I feel like the cut to black ending was so it was up to the player’s interpretation how everyone reacts. I personally think they would need time but eventually forgive Sunny and Basil.
That’s not what’s important though. Even if the group never forgives them, it’s the good ending because what matters most is that Sunny and Basil were able to forgive THEMSELVES and move forward with their lives.
To be fair. It was an accident... Like they where two twelve year olds that just accidentally killed someone.. I can't imagine having the shock and guilt of killing someone at only the age of twelve. Like what were they supposed to do? Be all high mighty and professional about it? there twelve with the weight and guilt of killing somebody to the point where they're either what to kill each other, or are drove so insane that they are trying to kill each others "somethings". it's not like they purposely pushed her down the stairs and was like oh no we killed her :o. It was more like arguing and then out of just emotionally out of anger pushed her down the stairs kind of on accident. Ya know?
This...this got me in the feels of how realistic it is..

For me, my headcanon reactions map pretty well to this (obviously Kel doesn't say that). Everything happens like the following minutes of the movie (Aubrey comes back first a couple of weeks/months later and starts helping, realizing she almost did the same thing and taking into account post-truth actions in Neutral endings), Kel breaks down (again, post-truth Neutral endings) and comes back a few more months after, bouncing back from the trauma and determined to understand and support like he didn't the first time, while Hero does the same as his character here: he comes back after nearly a year, almost horrified of all the forgiveness going around (maybe after arguments with Kel) but then has it explained to him again, thinks, and gives it a good, honest try. Pretty on point.
Also, they would most likely become friends again. I mean, Aubrey just went through the same thing 2 days ago only without the coverup and sped up by 660x. If they had a group hug after a day, I think it's realistic they become friends again, with the Lessons Kel and Hero learned about not being there for their friends and generally recent experience. People often forget that, and act like there's no precedent. There's a whole bunch of info on them if you just look carefully

here is why i think they would forgive basil and sunny even if it takes days or years: we were playing as sunny/omori and because he hates himself so much for what he did, he showed himself as a psychopath and a murderer which he is not. in his eyes he is a bad person that doesn't deserve forgiveness and that killed the person he loved the most but that's just his demons talking and that's why we see him all bloody and scary. in reality, as hard as it is on the group, it is nothing more than an accident and people should start treating it as one. imagine if your loved one ran over someone with a car in the middle of the night. the person is dead but your loved one didn't mean to do it, would you hate them for it? I hope not because it could've happened to anyone. I do think what basil did was worse but imagine being in their place, they were horrified and I do have some hope that the gang would forgive them because they were only 12 and knew mari was dead but didn't know what would happen to them. I'll say it again- sunny showed us a version of himself he sees so it's not actually as bad as it looked
