Well, that deteriorated rather quickly. Not your typical Dominguez game. Should be an interesting tournament, all the way till the end. Look forward to future reports.
I wanted to do the same move Bxc4 because the pawns on e4 and c4 are weak (not connected) this way, the pawn on c4 blocks the diagonal for the bishop against the king.
older players brought up on approximate principles have got a bit left behind by being less au fait with more concrete computer analysis. they often make moves that seem plausible but dont suit the precise position.
Great game analysis by Mr. King, as always. Sad thing is that if Niemann really has a talent and potential, no matter what he archives people will always remember him as someone who cheated in online games and most likely even over the board (not proven, but his behavior and post game interviews implied cheating). It might be the case that he stopped cheating and became really good at chess, but nobody cares, he will always be remembered as a cheater.
I think with time and true merit people will get over this. He is very young still and really trying to work and get somewhere, people also feels that.
Sad thing is your comment. Speak for yourself. I for one view the cases of cheating Hans admitted to on 1 online chess platform to be easily forgotten indeed. A young kid making mistakes. Although, even that is not really the right phrase. It's almost something you can wave away as a non-issue. Would you really call someone connecting to a random server on CounterStrike and using wall hack to be "making mistakes"? They're playing unfairly, for sure, but they're not really in it to play seriously, they're just having fun, albeit on other players' expense, so of course that's not "great". Cheating in a few non-officially ranked games on some chess platform is not really a big deal at all. It's just "not great, don't do that." "...if Niemann really has a [sic] talent and potential..." This speaks volumes of how tainted your judgments are by only the *possibility* (no proof) that Hans is cheating or has been cheating way above the extent he has admitted to. He *clearly* has talent and potential, like, how far down in the sand is your head really? Jesus Christ.
I probably watched all your videos since you started your RUclips channel, but as soon as "Niemann" appears, I have a really hard time ... Playing against him must be a very special problem, not connected with any of his moves on the board. Cheating detection is a real and still unsolved problem.
As soon as 'Niemann' appears, such comments appear. To add to the other comment, are you saying he cheated in this game? How about you have a word with the authorities in Saint Louis?
No player in the history of the game is monitored more for cheating than Hans Niemann. He plays hundreds of FIDE rated games a year with EVERYONE watching his every move. The experts, such as Dr. Kenneth Regan(the world's foremost in cheat detection), has cleared him time and time again. He's not a cheater. He's an a$$hole. And if being the latter where cause for disqualification, you might be surprised how many players would no longer be allowed to play. If you think the world's experts are unable to catch Hans because of his brilliance, you probably are the kind of person who thinks vaccines don't work. There's nothing brilliant about Hans. He just works his ass off and that does have consequences, specifically to ones social skills and mental health.
Let me paraphrase...Hans's opponents are distracted by thoughts that he might be cheating and therefore aren't 100% focused on the game. That's very different from suggesting that he's cheating.

Look at the position when Hans plays c5. No white pieces on the first rank. And the second rank is filled with pieces. Very aesthetically pleasing 😊

Great commentary and very educational. Thank you.
Beautiful game by Hans.
Thanks Mr King ❤❤❤
Consistently good chess content, GM King! Hans has become a great player and a lot of people can not admit it.

A very fine attack. Thanks for the analysis Daniel.
c5 what a deep move!
Chess speaks for itself
Hans the warrior.

Beautiful game by the "Bad Boy" of chess! Many thanks for sharing this , Sir!!
Black never had a chance to move one of his rook! Yikes.
Great game analysis by Mr. King, as always.

I think it's time to move on, accept that he is becoming a very strong player (one of the best) and enjoy the games.
