New Nightmare and Jason X are both canon in a weird way but explaining either would lead to spoilers. The only thing I'll say is that even though it came out before Freddy vs Jason, Jason X takes place after it.
Basically, Jason X took place after FvJ, and New Nightmare took place in another world where Freddy's a movie character but instead of Freddy himself, it's the "evil" behind Freddy Krueger now taking the form and escaping out of him and out of the films.
My favorite Jason film actually! Love the intro song! Was the last Friday the 13th film made by Paramount, and was in 1989. The later films were made by New Line Cinema. Just has the ultimate 80's feel, and in a way it is a swan song to the 80's decade.
Unfortunately They didn't have enough money to film it in New York but originally they wrote a whole script where Jason would be everywhere all the landmarks but the budget made them have to film a different movie
@@brandonspain12345 Is the original script online? or does a RUclipsr Talk about the movie scene for scene? I've seen some RUclips videos Where they talk about the original scripts of movies
This is my 3rd favorite Friday the 13th movie because of many factors, the opening intro theme being one of them. Jason definitely needs to come back into the mainstream, there are pretty good fan films online about Jason, the Never Hike Alone series being one of them. Also, Jason did wake up extra frustrated in this movie, you could tell by how he violently and frustratedly throws his victims around and reacts to the environment he is in lol 😂.
Well... Friday the 13th was set in 1979 Part 2, 3, and 4 was a 5 year jump and took place days apart in 1983. Part 5 took place 6 years later when Tommy was 18 in 1989. (Part 6 could take place shortly after) Part 7 (according to the director) took place 10 years later in 2000. Part 8 most likely a year later with Crystal Lake looking different. (Although, the guy early in the film mentioned Jason drowned "30" years ago which means the film should take place in 1988.) JGTH (According to Adam Marcus) ignored all the movies besides Part 2, with Jason showing up, intact, not explaining how he came back and now has a metal mask under his flesh. Establishing new lore like Jason having a sister, Creighton Duke, and Jason being a Deadite and changing his last name with one "O' in Voorhees. As for the year? I don't know. FvJ basically ignores JGTH and even the Freddy cameo at the end of that film. Now establishing Jason is still a zombie, is wearing a jacket with grey hair, drowning near the dock instead of the middle of the lake and died from murder instead of an accident, and now showing Crystal Lake was abandoned and taking construction work. Judging by the fashion and music, definitely 2003. Jason X is where it's broken. The film is set in 2455 but when they saw how long he was frozen, it was 4.55 centuries. Meaning it was back in 2000 but Rowan said they captured him in 2008 but then when they found his chamber they said it was made in 2010. and we know FvJ took place in 2003. Making it uncertain where it's really set. 2000, 2003, 2008, 2010, 2455?
More of it was supposed to take place in NYC in the original script but because of the budget they had to move most of the action to the boat. There were scenes originally scripted to take place at a bunch of different New York landmarks but they didn’t have the budget for it
I’m in the minority but I like this movie a lot. I find it to be fun for the most part and I’d put it ahead of a lot of other movies in the series. The big complaint being that it mostly takes place on a boat and not Manhattan but I like most of the boat stuff and the stuff actually in Time Square is awesome. A lot of fun kills too including the Julius death where his head is punched clean off. One of the best. I’d rewatch this over Jason goes to Hell any day.
Crystal Lake is supposed to be in New Jersey. The movie was shot in Vancouver Canada. Only the Times Square scenes was shot in actual New York. Jason Goes to Hell is next. Jason X was made after that. Then Freddy vs Jason. But canonically, Jason X takes place way after Freddy Vs Jason.
The white teenage punk gang of the late 1980’s early 1990’s from the beginning of this movie from Times Square now turned into Tren De Aragua Venezuelan gang now in 2024.
Carrie would be more appropriate, but I don't think she's seen that film (she certainly hasn't reacted to it on this channel), so Matilda may be the only comparable character she's familiar with.
We are 8 movies in and she still thinks Jason died from drowning.
The giant man Jason throws in the diner, plays Jason in Freddy vs Jason
I hated the way Jason screamed after getting toxic stuff in da face.
But I LOVE the photography of that flashback Rene had with her uncle, so green...
24:59 funny thing about this giant man is he's going to be the one playing Jason in Freddy vs Jason.

Dude. This movie is so bad that it should be considered a comedy.
His taste in Friday films is comedic as well @@SurvivorBri
Don't watch Jason X, it's bad idea in a time when people had no consideration for canon, even with the Friday 13th franchise
Unfortunately They didn't have enough money to film it in New York but originally they wrote a whole script where Jason would be everywhere all the landmarks but the budget made them have to film a different movie
And the original ending took place in the Statue of Liberty with Jason dying by falling all the way down, Die Hard style.

Did anyone tell Her Jason X technically takes place after Freedy vs Jason?

Only the Times Square scene was actually shot in New York. Everything else in Vancouver.
In this Friday the 13th Jason continuously telaports lol
Yeah, one guy actually did a video trying to breakdown how he can somehow do it. 😂😂😂
Technically, this movie would take place in the early or mid 2000s I think.

Love Metrópolis song Darkest Side of The Night. I dont understand the hate against this movie .

I can't wait for Freddy vs Jason that's going to be epic and I know you will do amazing I hope you are having a epic and blessed day and night ❤❤❤100
I think it's in New Jersey!
The camp.
Some powerlines are underwater... insinuated of course.

There is another one, Jason X

Jason Goes to Hell is next. Jason X was made after that. Then Freddy vs Jason. But canonically, Jason X takes place way after Freddy Vs Jason.
I did it the other way around to you. I only watched Degrassi online about 4 years ago, so during that special i was making Jason jokes lol.
The real question: New York Holly J or New York Jason Voorhees? 😂
Speaking for myself i think i'd prefer Holly J for company, she's not likely to decapitate me. To watch though, i'll go with Jason.
Time Square is not like that at all anymore, it's a pure tourist spot. You'd enjoy yourself here, come see for yourself.
The white teenage punk gang of the late 1980’s early 1990’s from the beginning of this movie from Times Square now turned into Tren De Aragua Venezuelan gang now in 2024.
React to terrifier2
Actually thought this was one of the most boring Friday the 13th movies.
You've done well. I enjoyed Friday 13th (1980) and stopped there.
Nyc has not changed I see
hey there I agree with you I'm a new Yorker and I don't even like Manhattan because I don't do crowds
Also New York is awesome. I’ve been twice and it’s great fun
It just really stinks
Matilda girl ? You mean Carrie ?
Carrie would be more appropriate, but I don't think she's seen that film (she certainly hasn't reacted to it on this channel), so Matilda may be the only comparable character she's familiar with.
Hate to break it to you, but this is not a good movie.
