Would Oxford only look at the cumulative GPA or will they value according to the corresponding major's GPA only? Thank you so much!
Super helpful video, appreciate all of your very detailed insights - out of curiosity, how many master's programs did you apply to overall/did you apply to others in the UK? when you started the application process, how certain were you about wanting to do a master's program abroad vs. in the US?

For the full-time taught courses Statement of Purpose, do you recommend placing more emphasis on the ability to complete the coursework related to the Masters as opposed to research? I'm applying to a philosophy MSt program that doesn't really involve research. Thanks so much for the great video!
Focus on how you will take advantage of coursework. Skills you hope to acquire and how which direction you plan to take with your courses/tutorials/papers. Even if the main component of the degree is an exam, you will be focusing your studies on smaller research papers/projects so while you won’t emphasize the dissertation component, you still want to emphasize your plan and how you will use the coursework to advance your thoughts and prepare you for your next step.
Nice video! And super informative, well done. I want to ask you, why your personal statement is covered your research interest or research plan! Is your Master type a research or taught degree?!

This was so helpful, thank you! Out of curiosity, as an international applicant from the US, did you write your statement using American English or British English (eg. program vs programme)? Also, did you have a reference list for the sources you mentioned in your statement?
Hi Kaelyn! Thank You for this video. I too wish to complete my phd from the UK, but I'm still confused about my research topic. Do you think I should take admission for double master's to figure it out? I am an English Literature postgraduate with interest in Essayists and Critical Theory.

Hey! I am hoping to apply to oxford and i have 3.95 gpa from an american uni. However, I did not write an honours thesis. I only am writing a thesis for my minor. Would that be a problem?
is there a list of abroad schools/history programs that are accredited in the USA. are there certain schools or do all Master's degrees from uk schools count in the U.S?
Hi Kaelyn.I am a university student in Turkey,my high school life was bad, my graduation grade is 62 out of 100. But I'm at university now and my grades are very good, at the same time I'm joining volunteering organizations and I'm trying to do a lot of things to write in my motivation letter.Do you think that my high school life being empty will prevent me from getting a master's degree at Oxford? I would be very happy if you answer.
Hey Kaelyn, maybe you can help demystify something for me. How exactly do you convert UK degree scores into GPAs? And do masters results get counted in that too?
To my knowledge a 1st class is equivalent to a 3.8-4.0 and a second class with honors (2:1) is a 3..6 -3.75 but I’m not 100% sure of the exact conversion. The masters at Oxford is either a pass, merit, or distinction whereas in the US you’re graded on the standard 4.0 scale
@@KaelynGraceApple that's roughly what I thought regarding undergrad. But what I'm most curious about is whether having a high distinction at masters level could bump up the score at all?
For a PhD application? Having a distinction from an institution like oxford would negate most blemishes on ones undergrad gpa. Though undergrad gpa and masters gpas will be viewed separately
@@KaelynGraceApple Ah, well mine is from King's, but that's good to know. 😀 And good luck with yous btw if you're still putting the finishing touches to your dissertation .
I have a 4.0 and am working on an academic survey and creative writing both for publication. I am also a nontraditional student and veteran. Is this competitive for a Masters of English Literature at Oxford?
The Transcript of Grades of my University says that I have a 3.25 / 4.0 GPA (91 / 100). However, I checked some sources and they say with a 91 percent, my gpa is in a 3.7 / 4.0 GPA. I believe my University GPA calculator will diminish my chances. Any suggestion on my situation? Thank you so much,
Mam can you give me a detailed answer . How many time to get a master's degree from oxford university. And which college for Zoology,Botany master degree is the at oxford university. And when will starts the admission for autumn semester 2021? And what will be the last date of applying at oxford uni in 2021 for master's degree? I really need the information. Thanks
For masters degree programs, you apply to the department, rather than the college so whichever college you select as your preference will not effect you acceptance. Admission for the Fall 2022 term will open up in early September 2021 and the deadlines are rolling but ultimately conclude in January-March (depending on the program).
@@KaelynGraceApple And according to you that admission for masters 2021 starts from sept 2021. So then the 2021 batch classes starts from which month ex like 2021 october ,november ,december etc. Give me reply I am really confused right now.
Hi, Kalen. I tried following yout structure, but I cant seem to reflect this structure to my personal statement in 1000 words. May I ask if your statement has the same word limit? And is the consultation free? I already prepared my personal statement.
Yes my statement was 1000. Here is a link for consultations, I unfortunately they are paid due to the volume of clients I assist each year. Acceptedconsulting.com/graduate
@@KaelynGraceApple do they take into consideration race as a factor in the application? I'm thinking of applying but my 3.3 GPA in US History is probably not good enough right?
hey, i know this is a bit late but does your high school gpa matter for doing masters? i'm in my second year for bachelors and by far my gpa has been a consistent 4.0 (96%) whereas i had a 2.0 (76%) in high school.
during undergrad, no leturer knew me personally except my supervisor. It is sad cos I need like 3 referees and don tknow how ill get 3 academics to write about me out of the blue
Write to professors from courses you performed well in and ask if they'd be willing to write a letter if you send them the essays you wrote for their class.
Very inspiring! I am a 1st year undergraduate student and was able to publish a paper and will be a research assistant where I have the opportunity to be a co-author of an additional paper. I will probably get a gpa just enough for a first-class honours degree, but I know that people applying to a master at Oxford will have a much better gpa. Is a great gpa more important for the application or can I compensate it with research experience as long as my gpa still matches the minimum requirement?

Hey, I wanted to know the details about mst in film aesthetics in Oxford (it's my dream program). I am an Indian student and currently studying bsc in economics and humanities in IIT Bombay (arguably the best college of India) and i have made around 25 short films here and they have won awards at fests like raindance and los Angeles Pacific asian film fest... I only had a brief email exchange with me potential advisor about sources but not about working with her or the program. Oxford doesn’t require you to contact professors for their masters programs ahead of time and some departments even frown upon it.

Could you tell me how many pages is your CV? Thank alot and best luck 😍🥰🍄
When you mention a professor's name or project in your statement of purpose, did you have to first speak with these professors about potential collaboration if you were to get in to Oxford?
Irene Rauch you don’t have to but I would recommend that you reach out to them to make sure they will be available and whether your research will align with their knowledge/interests!
I have a video coming all about this in two weeks so keep an eye out! 🥰
Can I send medium of institution letter(English Proficiency Letter) instead of IELTS? And do I have to ask Professors to send reference letters to the unviersity email themselves?Kindly tell me about what to do
They all count in the US so long as it’s from a degree offering university
Hi Kaelyn.I am a university student in Turkey,my high school life was bad, my graduation grade is 62 out of 100. But I'm at university now and my grades are very good, at the same time I'm joining volunteering organizations and I'm trying to do a lot of things to write in my motivation letter.Do you think that my high school life being empty will prevent me from getting a master's degree at Oxford? I would be very happy if you answer.
Not at all! Your high school grads are not considered ♥️
@KaelynGraceApple Oh,really! Thank you then for informing me❤️
Hello, I'm from India and this video helped me a lot but I have a question. Can I get into Oxford for masters in english with 3.4gpa in high school?
😀 And good luck with yous btw if you're still putting the finishing touches to your dissertation
.
Dominic Carr thank you! I’m almost done!!
Hi Miss Kaelen! Did you use the Oxford CV Template?
I used my own cv template :)
@@KaelynGraceApple Thanks for the response! Appreciate it. I think I'll just use my own template also. Thanks! Stay safe!
@@KaelynGraceApple Thank you .
And is it true that achieving a master degree from oxford is only in 9 months programe not 2 years
The MSt and MSc programs are often 9 or 12 months and the MPHil programs are often two years
@@KaelynGraceApple And according to you that admission for masters 2021 starts from sept 2021. So then the 2021 batch classes starts from which month ex like 2021 october ,november ,december etc.
Give me reply I am really confused right now.
Reach out to your department if you have additional questions. The Oxford academic year typically begins in early October
@@KaelynGraceApple thank you for your kind response.
You left out the biggest question. COST
how much are the fees and application cost?
Application was £50 when I applied (if I remember correctly) see my other videos about cost of attendance
It does not :)
@@KaelynGraceApple thank you so much! it's always been a dream to get into Oxford and I was super scared lol
How long did it take for you to get an interview/offer
8-10 weeks - I submitted in January and heard back in mid-march
Hi, would you recommend highlighting leadership administrative and research skills for any program? I'm considering creative writing!
For creative writing, focus on your experience and written work, rather than just research skills.
during undergrad, no leturer knew me personally except my supervisor.
Does OXBRIDGE only accept toppers??
My first semester grade at college was bad due to certain reasons. Rest were okay. I’m in pre final year right now. My GPA is coming to 3.65 around (taking the grades of first 5 semesters).
What do u think?
Depends on the program! Check out acceptedconsulting.com for support
Are oxford entrance exams only for undergraduate admission??
Can I get into ms computer science in oxford with scholarship by just clearing this exam only? Or should do anything else??
There is a complete application process you will need to complete
Hey, I wanted to know the details about mst in film aesthetics in Oxford (it's my dream program). I am an Indian student and currently studying bsc in economics and humanities in IIT Bombay (arguably the best college of India) and i have made around 25 short films here and they have won awards at fests like raindance and los Angeles Pacific asian film fest... As in the site of the course it's written that you must have atleast a honours degree in humanities, so will i be accepted because I am doing bsc(4 yrs long) not honours or ba and i am in 2nd year and please tell what did you do before you got selected and how an international student can stand apart to get selected. Please reply, thanks
Is the honors program from undergraduate school a big plus for the application?
a High GPA and honors is pretty standard
Can I get a master scholarship as an international student with a master degree which I purchased in Vietnam?
Did you contact the people you wanted to work with before you applied? It sounds like you did because you mention specific names and mentors.
I only had a brief email exchange with me potential advisor about sources but not about working with her or the program. Oxford doesn’t require you to contact professors for their masters programs ahead of time and some departments even frown upon it.
Are only honors students considered or normal bachelors is fine too?
Vaidehi Nair students with any applicable gpa within the margin are considered. I was not in the honors program at UCLA
Please how do I apply?
Watch all my how to apply videos :)
As someone who was home schooled and not graded would they still accept me?
Does your high school gpa matter when applying to a Masters program?
Nope!
can you still apply to Oxbridge with a 3.3 GPA
Most programs have a gpa minimum
@@KaelynGraceApple I just looked online, it says for Masters at Oxford, I need 3.3 out of 4.0 at bare minimum. Thank you for your response though

To I have to appear entrance exam for master in History and politics
@@kumztsunger4343 For the Masters in History or Political Science, you may have to take an English language proficiency test depending on your country of origin

@@KaelynGraceApple Thank you!! Are there other extracurriculars you would recommend? I have a 4.0 but have not done much outside of classes etc.
Hi, i was wondering if they take into consideration the undergraduate you attended
Yes but you don’t have to go to a top tier undergraduate institution to be considered for Oxford. Focus on your gpa, research experience, and writing abilities!
What is the duration for doing masters in history
Mine was 9 months but the mphil is 2 years
I've been doing minors in my Bachelors (Mechanical Engineering) in the fields of Aeronautics, Electromagnetism, written 2 research papers on solid state physics, and have done 3 courses in Engineering Mathematics. Hey, can you give tips about Msc in computing? I am kind of confused can you reply to me on insta DM would be thankful to you and Happy new year :)
Don't have interest in a university built by british colonial slave traders. I would be doing a Disservice to my heritage, cultural values and long forgotten ancestors. Btw I can easily go there (long application process tho) but because of safety and security reasons I choose not to.
Totally fair
