Did you use a touch of glue when you attached the neck? I just shimmed my 70's FT-145 all is well but I'm thinking the final step is to take the neck back off and use a touch of wood glue. Advice?

Tom Penny: Sorry for the delay...I didn't use glue. I like the ability to get back in there again and tweak the neck angle if necessary. I can see where you're coming from, I think...a glued joint might help tone and sustain?
Not sure what a side-by-side comparison would tell us, but I thought the FT 160N tone and sustain were great when I was done with it and no glue in the neck joint. Of course, the playability enhancement was huge. My next door neighbor has a similar 12 string made by Yamaha that has a set neck and high action due to some belly bulge, but a lot of neck angle change, too. Since I wish I could do this simple neck angle adjustment for him, instead of an entire neck reset, which is coming eventually, no, I prefer not to make the modification more difficult and open up an opportunity to damage the guitar.
I hope this was helpful. It's just my line of reasoning and you may wish to search elsewhere to get balanced input on the subject. Please let me know what you decide to do.
