    I genuinely like the design of these headphones but afraid of what I'll face when it comes to sound due to bad reputation of other models in ABYSS lineup. Do you think sound quality is really compareable to other flagships like utopia, lcd-5 or it's just not worth the hassle? Thanks!

      I always thing the abyss series of headphone sound is superb. Unless you are into ASR haha.
      But in all seriousness, give them a listen, be it this or past models. I still think my 1266 original is the best sounding.
      If anything I think the LCD5 is rather boring while the utopia is pretty ok. The abyss is just a fun sounding headphone with good technicals as long as you listen within normal levels.
      The abyss issue is only if you listen to really loud, they distort unlike the lcd series.

    yeah i agree its not the easiest to drive in terms of volume. My hardest to drive is hifiman he-6sev2, second hardest is the diana MR, it will still make you turn up your volume way higher than most headphones

    • @ZPProductions
      @ZPProductions  10 месяцев назад

      yeah. But it's not just volume, I don't see it being easier or harder to drive optimally from sources too. maybe it just so happen everything I have somewhat synergise with it haha

    How did the MR pair with the Chord TT2? Im looking at picking the MR up and currently am running a TT2.

    • @ZPProductions
      @ZPProductions  9 месяцев назад +1

      I don’t have a chord tt2. But MR requirement for amp I feel is really low, it doesn’t need much synergy as base signature is quite pleasant. I can use it off my chord TT

    Do you prefer the MR over the V2?

      Hmm not really sure. I tried the v2 sometime back but can’t exactly remember

    nice review man :)
    i own the v2 paired to the wa7 3rd gen. i got the questyle m15 to use it for the v2 and for the monarch mk3, its nice for the mk3 but for the v2 its very bad. lacking power and lacking any sparkle in general.
    i consider the wa8 as a portable now for both v2 and mk3, to achieve somewhat of that wa7 experience, which is just heavenly.
    thanks for the review again!

    • @ZPProductions
      @ZPProductions  10 месяцев назад +1

      Questyle m15 is pretty good considering the price, the control it exerts on the Diana is great. It doesn’t distort too. Wa8 probably will be good too. But monarch mk3 as a iem is not so much power but control. I don’t quite remember my experience with the wa8 since it’s like years ago I had fun with it. You have a preference with tubes as per your wa7 experience ?

      hey man appreciate the reply, sorry for my late one.
      i am waiting for the new apos tubes, i expect them to be an upgrade over the stock tubes.
      i gave up for the meanwhile on a portable setup for my diana v2, i enjoy it so much on the wa7 so ill just keep it simple. i do use the m15 for the monarch mk3 cuz it sounds better with it, better bass extension etc..
      btw the diana v2 can be purchased 1300ish 2nd hand.
      i dont think at even 2500ish 2nd hand mr is worth the extra.

      @@heeku_ try the Diana on a Enleum HPA-23RM. It is an improvement for sure haha.
      Abyss second price are really low cause they keep releasing new revision that isn’t that much better. I prefer my second hand Diana Phi than MR.
      But for the sake of fair comparison and some people do like it new plus I think MR has really nice colours, it’s probably good for those people who want it that way.

      seems like a serious amp for sure. im less likely to upgrade any amp for dynamic gear, hopefully the apos tubes would enhance the already amazing experience with the wa7. next upgrade will be a x9000 system soon and ill call it a day : )

      i really wanna audition such amp now.
      its been a few days that i didnt use the diana with the wa7, but the monarch mk3.
      used the diana today and the lack of power from the wa7 was more noticeable, so as a test i pushed it louder with the 788 dac/amp but i just didnt like the sound as i do with the wa7 and it loses quality when pushed louder through the 788.
      i feel like the wa7 isnt taking the diana to full potential but just letting me enjoy part of it.
      that being said, i am shocked how good the monarch mk3 sound, like any better sounding iem than that just scares me.

    Could you review the zmf atrium closed 🙂 ?

      I can do an impression since there is a shop that has a demo set. A full review will be hard since I am not too close with the retailer haha.

      I went to actually try out the atrium recently, The atrium close was really the nicest. I tried the open and caldera, and the close had the right amount quality + excitement and relatively nice bass. Now Im tempted to wait for a closed myself haha
