  • In this video we will be talking about 6 ways to be in flow with your life from the philosophy of Lao Tzu. Lao Tzu was an ancient Chinese philosopher who is known to be the founder of Taoism and the writer of Taoism’s most sacred text, the Tao Te Ching.
So with that in mind, here are 6 ways to be in flow with your life from the philosophy of Lao Tzu -
    01. Let go of your ego
    02. Dare not to be first
    03. Let go of your desire to rush things
    04. Embrace Change
    05. Be content with little
    06. Accept your flaws
We hope you enjoyed watching the video and hope these 6 ways, from the philosophy of Lao Tzu, will help you be in flow with your life.
Taoism is a Chinese philosophy attributed to Lao Tzu which contributed to the folk religion of the people primarily in the rural areas of China and became the official religion of the country under the Tang Dynasty. Taoism is therefore both a philosophy and a religion. Taoism teaches to embrace wonder and the joy in living gracefully with style. Lao Tzu was an ancient Chinese philosopher and writer who is known to be the founder of Taoism. He is also credited as the writer of Taoism’s most sacred text, the Tao Te Ching and his words can apply to people all over the world.

Nonsense !!! Lao Tzu never said such nonsense. Names that you can name are not the eternal name. Tao that you can described are not the eternal Tao. None of that has anything to do with any ego. What is ego ? There is no such thing at the time of Lao Tzu in China. See how full of shit you are ?

@@fred4994 No. He missed the essence and subtlety of the Dao. The message Lao Tzu is conveying to us is everything originates from Dao and ends in Dao. That means it is inevitable for everything to happen the way it happened. We, therefore, should focus on what we desire, be persistent, never follow the flow of others, never let go, but let be, and create our own flow for others to follow. In the words of Jesus : love God. If we were to fail, that's Dao, aka God's Will in western superstition. If we were to succeed, that's Dao, aka God's Will in western superstition. It's that simple.
May the love and the peace of Jesus be with us.

I really like the concept of living in the flow. There is a misconception that it promotes laziness and apathy but the true meaning is that life in general should be effortless when we are exerting energy towards the right things because it will just naturally unfold. I was brought up by a strict and condescending father who criticized me for being lazy and told me hard work will always pay off. As an adult working in the corporate world I found his statements to be far from the truth! Every job I held that was stressful and toxic were one of the lowest paying jobs I held. The application of the hard work philosophy only taught me to endure something so unnatural that such way of living was unsustainable and bound to fall apart. I am at a better place in my career now, I am not rich but my work feels effortless and I am paid much more in comparison to the grueling jobs I had in the past that was taxing too much of my energy at the time. I approach the "work smart not hard" mentality. Yes there are days I do face challenges and adversity but I no longer endure and tell myself to work harder, I tell myself that there must be an easier way to accomplish this. I become perceptive of my environment and the resources available to me so I can approach things in the most efficient way as possible requiring the least amount of effort on my part to live a fulfilling and comfortable life which what we are all naturally meant to do!

In Asia, it is difficult to separate Taoism from Buddhism from Confucianism. They are like folds of the same garment. There are even ancient paintings of Buddha, Lao Tzu & Khóng-tsú sitting around together. The wisdom from these three great men can be summed up thusly:
    - Embrace simplicity
    - Put others first
    - Desire little

Five years ago I started down a path, now I live with no house structure, eat two meals a day and live a very minimal life.
I’ve found one of the biggest obstacles to peace and the things the video talks about, is the modern society norms- the housing, vehicle, food, clothing, etc. expenses that keep people working a full time job only to barely get by. It’s not conducive to contentment and I’d go as far as to say it’s anti-contentment.

I love these videos! However, I must point out some of the positives of social media that cut both ways. While I do get a little jealous of friends partying, vacationing where I haven't gone, or having a job or partner like I always wanted, I can on the other hand CHOOSE to live vicariously through them, enjoy a few of the wonders they are sharing, feel/imagine some of the love, sex, and family they are experiencing, and see over time how these lives are inevitably challenged because of them. All that saves me from having to experience it myself. Social media is a way for us to learn from the experiences of others, share information and feelings, and JOIN the collective instead of remaining isolated DEPENDING on if we can keep a balanced perspective. Use these tools wisely, and we should be able to reduce their harmful potential.

Lao Zi's philosophy is straightforward and not difficult to understood. But, like many others', it is more easily understood than put into practice. “Dare not be the first" can be construed to be contradictory to "aspiring to achieve higher and better".
Spending extravagantly and buying far more than necessary is almost a norm in wealthy countries and among middle-class and rich people. Think of how many T-shirts, trousers and shoes do we own? How many smartphones have we bought over the past 10 years? How much food our restaurants around the world dump every day? We have already been exhausting the earth's resources that belong to our grand grand children. The COVID-19 endemic, despite its destruction to human lives and economies, has perhaps reminded some of us how wasteful we have been.

    • @darinjohnson1816

Well said and I truly agree. We must take care of our childrens children and take care of this beautiful planet we have blindly taken for granted. The truth will unfold soon. I truly believe the bankers that control our governments, resources and spending will be brought into the light. It will then be up to us to start our new earth or fallow the ignorance of all the false truths that they brainwashed into our society.

It's a shame about having so many ads. Every time I felt I was getting an understanding about what was being spoken about and how I could implement things into my own life, 2 loud blaring ads would come on and completely break it up. Wouldn't 2 ads at the beginning and 2 at the be sufficient? Not 2 every few minutes. It's almost ironic that someone talking about not chasing money will make a video that is so packed with ads.

    • @bradleykayser2472
      @bradleykayser2472 Год назад +2

I should add, despite the ads, it's a interesting video and I definitely resonated with some of what was talked about.

It's the price you pay for getting the vid for free. That's the way the world is now, sadly. It's down to RUclips not the person who posted it. I just tune the ads out and press on 'skip ad' the second it's possible. Without the ads, we wouldn't get to see it at all. Or we'd have to pay for wisdom that is every human beings birthright to know.

I accept Lao Tzu's statement, "When you accept yourself, the whole world accepts you," and I interpret it as follows: one shouldn't fight against one's own nature, as said in the video. But my flaws are not my nature; they are against my nature. So, I have to fight against my flaws; I cannot accept my flaws. When I accept my nature and fight against my flaws, the whole world accepts me.

@sylviashen4016 Thank you for your reply. Let me elaborate on this issue.
Suppose you are the boss, and I am the employee. It turns out that I am bad at work - I have flaws. You are going to fire me, and I say, "Don't fire me, boss, because I accept my flaws, and I don't fight against my flaws - they are my nature; the whole world accepts me as a flawfull person, and you must also accept me." I don't think Lao Tzu would agree with us if we interpreted his statement in this way.

Correction: Daoism existed before Lao Tzu, he was just the only known surviving author whose work on politics that happens to survive. Originally Daoist thought was concerned with Chi Gung and meditation.

This is a much needed instruction for everyone trapped in the social expectations and the illusion that one must live up to those expectations.
There is one point that I don't entirely agree with in this video, that we don't own any merit for who we are because everything was gifted to us from others. From a very young age I observed everything and especially how people are, I questioned everything and made a conscious choice and effort to shape myself into the person I am, often rejecting what was taught in school as well as social expectations, therefore I gifted myself with the choice of not following the status quo which I saw as shallow, superficial and often hypocritical.
I would offer another observation of this presentation, though very well put together and the tone of the narration is well aligned with the subject matter, the pronunciation of "Tao" sounds like "Dao".
It may seem like a minor detail to most, but I believe that details are as important as the big picture 😊
