How beautiful they turned out. I've been watching your channel for yrs and for cutting without a guide, using a knife !!! You're great !
Thanks so much for watching :)
I really luv ur honesty --- it encourages me to make mistakes and go and try soaping instead being a looker only. Plus ur rose pattern was really nice.
the swirl is shaped like a woman's uterus, its actually amazing considering the colors and fragrance.
This is so beautiful. I love this technique. I think I might try it next. ❤
I actually really love how this turned out!
Beautiful soap!
I actually really love how this turned out!
Amazing way this turned out - so beautiful! Each bar is unique! Well done!!
These came out awesome. They just get better and better.
Beautiful! I’ve gotten melt and pour soaps and am going to try making some soon! 🌸
Thank you for this video! I just began making soaps not too long ago and opened my own Etsy shop.. I’ve already gotten about 25 orders within the past month. It’s so exciting!! You are an expert I can’t wait to be as good as you. 🙂
Wonderful!
Oh , yes that was interesting on weighing the bars.
I love that you film your experiments!!!
As always, great job, beautiful soap & thanks
Very beautiful!!! Turned out really nice!!
These are so pretty 😍😍😍
Thank you! Cheers!
This is nice 👌 love it 🥰🥰🥰simple and easy i will be doing this
Thanks for explaining the 9 bars,I always wondered if you could be getting more out of a loaf.Beautiful swirl and such a wonderful idea to give the sample bar to last purchased customer. Thanks!!!
+kelley Sciarrino I use to cut at 24mm and then I got 10 bars out of 1 loaf. But I cut bigger bars but get a decent size sample bar. The other bars are about 3-5mm thick and picking them up normaly brakes them in half - soap is not strong.
I think these look great! You have really inspired me to purchase all of my supplies and give soap making a whirl. I’m so excited to try it!
You are so welcome! Hope you enjoy soap making
What a fantastic surprise that was, I wasnt expecting that inside! Just goes to show you never know what your going to get half the time. Fantastic job as always Dean.. simply love these :-D
+Terry Mastriantonio Thanks Terry, however these are now starting to bleed. I might have to change my supplier of dyes. :(
Love the color 🙂 looks great 😃
It's so beautiful! But not surprised. Love your videos Dean! Thanks for sharing.
Dean... I think they came out GREAT! I would like to try this one. Thanks!
Very pretty!
Hi Dean! My name is Tayla and in my cosmetics class today we made melt and pour soap. I coloured mine purple and used dewberry scent. I find soap making very cool and I love vids like this to show me how to make soap at home! Keep it up! Love the soap!
Thank you ... Glad you like my videos :)
No problem! ;)
I love that swirl!
Thank you, they did merge into each other over a period of weeks. But still smells amazing.
Great looking bar, you always do such a great job. What a pleasure watching you.
Beautiful! Un abrazote desde Costa Rica!
I so would love to have my own shop
I actually gasped out loud after the first cut.
Totally unexpected and totally beautiful!
Thank you for weighing them at the end, very interesting!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful!
Thanks a lot for this, it's so inspiring...... Can I mak mine like this? I love the fact that it's shinny like a mirror, how did you come about that?
You sure can, please use all my designs for your work. The shinny look is because it was in a silicone mold, the melt and pour base gives this effect from shinny silicone loafs.
@@DeanWilson thank you so much.
❤❤❤❤❤Keep going so nice soap I like it❤
So pretty !!!
Love this absolutely ! You are a pro at this !!
They looked great
Looking awesome...great creation
Brilliant Dean..
Those came out Beautiful:) I love the color.
Love it ❤ very pretty
Thank you! 😊
Wow love the pattern
The soap turn out very nice. Now that you have various weight for the soaps. Do you price them differently.
Thanks. All my M&P soaps are priced the same.
Hi Dean. Do you have a tutorial from scratch. I've been wanting to make and sell soaps in our city/country but don't know how to start. People here are making whitening soap while I'm thinking of just an everyday soap for family. I hope you can help. tia
If your making soap with Melt and Pour base then its quite easy. Cut the soap up into chucks, melt in microwave or double boiler then pour into soap mold. If your doing cold process soaps then I suggest checking out Soap Queen TV on youtube. She has tons of tutorials from start to end.
So from watching your videos dean temperature plays a vital role in how melt and pour behaves 120° or lower is gud for swirls u can correct me if i am wrong
Each base will be different. Read the details from the supplier too. Testing is a much to get the right swirls. It took me over 50kg to get a decent one that I liked.
I love how you experiment and try different techniques. your soaps come out just awesome! what is the name of those metal containers you are using to melt your soap base?
+jbutle80 I melt my soap in Aluminium Pouring Pots. www.naturalcandlesupply.com.au/aluminium-pouring-pot.html
How do you melt your soap I use a microwave.. I see you have two pots JavaOne of those candle pots .I also notice there were line on your soap before you cut them. How did you mark them ,so each is the same size.
+Cheryl Harris I use a crock-pot filled with water which melts the soap base in the pouring pot. I use the same for making candles.
I use a ruler and make out 1 inch sections. It's a 24.4cm loaf and I get 9 sections (1 inch) and some extra
I think it has worked out great.
Beautiful! 👍🌹
I want to try my hand at MP. I'm used to CP. Packaging them is almost the opposite. With CP you need to let them breath at least 4 to 6 weeks before packaging them. I've heard that with MP you have to seal them up right away to avoid "sweating"? How do you package MP? Can you shrink wrap them or just put them in a nice plastic bag alright to do?
+Dana T Hi Dana, I made a video on wrapping my M&P soaps. You can find it here -->
ruclips.net/video/L9jo2it3eAQ/видео.html
Perfect, thank you!
Dean if I want to make an sell these to I have to add other oils
No, this is melt and pour soap base. All you need to add it color (mica/liquid dye - skin safe) and fragrance oil (also skin safe). No other oils are needed.
It looks good
I think you should name it
"Pink Ocean" essential rose oil body bar.
have the same mold but mine is pink. betting my soap today. very excited to make swirls. so you use rose water or rose oil? .thanks for video.
Cool, I used rose fragrance oil. I would never use rose water for melt and pour base.
Thanks love. I don't want to mess up. I only have distilled rose water so need to order rose oil. I make perfume too so used all my rose up. Can't wait to get my soap today.
I love your videos. Been watching them since last night. Starting again this morning lol
One of these days I'll get a hang of this swirl! I think I just muddied up another batch :/
+Cheerful HeartSong It took me a while to get what I feel is a good soap for a swirl. Keep trying :)
Dean Wilson
Will do :) I've certainly gotten some interesting designs attempting a nice swirl lol :)
hello sir I try ur melt&pour method but lather of this soap is not good .how to increase lather in this soap? .can u tell me how to maintain ph balance?
I can only suggest trying a different base from another supplier. Goats milk base normally gives a grea lather. But its not the same as cold process soaps.
Hi Dean, I just tried doing this technique ( I have the same mould ). My soap towards the end of the pour had lumps, even though I had melted it and it seemed smooth just prior to pouring? What temp in Celsius do you pour at?
+Sharyn Wingrave 115-120 f which is 46 celsius
Can you hold down the divider so it won't spill and put in one side at normal temperature (120-115) and then once you've done that can the other side be hotter so it'll merge,blend/ stick to the other side and pour that side in? Would that work?
+mikaapaigee That might work, I found that the divider I was using was being pushed out every time I poured so it will have to be something holding it in place. That should work. Give it a go and let me know. Remember you can always remelt melt and pour soap.
They turned our beautiful
Came out good! :)
How many drops of fragrance oil to be added to a 75gms of soap bar ?
I use 2% fragrance oil. A drop really cant be measured as such, so for 75 grams, 1.5 grams fragrance oil = 2%
That beautiful
Hi Dean, I have a question. what amount of fragrance do you add to say 1 kilo of soap base. I obviously don't get it right because whilst the base smells lovely while melted once hard I don't get the scent as strong as I would like. Thanks Chris
+Chris Fairall Hi Chris, it will depend on the fragrance you use. In most cases I use only 2% FO. Check with the supplier first.
Per 1000grams (1kg) soap base, it would be 20ml FO (2%).
Thanks Dean :-)
ur website link doesnt seem to work, love to explore a bit about ur shop and business...any etsy shop at all? any shipping cost for customers from interstate? thanks
Hi, I closed down my candle business back in Nov 2015. www.sentinelsoap.com.au is my soap website.
Hi, me again. I love your channel. Another question. If you put your soaps in the little bags, don't they sweat? Or do you vacuum them first?
There is very little air in the bar, its fits smooth around the soap. They do sweat over time. Some of my older soaps have crystals on them but they are easy to wipe off.
@@DeanWilson Thank you very much for your quick responses. 😊
hello sir.. May i ask.. Don't you put additives on your mElt and pour?
No, none. Just dye and fragrance oils..
i already ordered load mold and white and clear mnp.. im going to start making my own MELT AND POUR SOAP
BUT GOATS MILK MNP IS VERY EXPENSIVE HERE
very pretty
How much titanium dioxide used for 100gms bar??? Any preservatives needed???? How many months shelf life??
For Melt and Pour base I use a liquid titanium dioxide from AussieSoapSupplies.com.au it only needs a few drops. But for Cold Process soap I use 1 tea spoon per 1kg batter. CP takes 6 weeks to cure - depending on the oils you use.
Myeko Ohona - Not really don't like the idea of embeding a toy inside soap. Most of my customers are ladies and prefer something nice and friendly. Also adding a toy will bump up the price on the soap.
When do I add my fragrance? Awesome channel !
Can I use clear soap base to make this?
Yes you can!
Hi Dean, thanks for your unique vedios. I made soaps from readymade glycerine soaps. And they get hard very very quickly. Can you please find a solution?
A solution for what? Hard bars are good.
Dean Wilson I mean... the melted readymade soap hardens very very quickly. But, I saw your melted content take much time to get hardened.
It starts to get hard immediately. I can't make any lair for this reason.
So your melting an already made soap bar? oh. I dont know the answer for you. Maybe try and melt it at a hotter temp.
Thanks Dean. I'll try with soap base next time.
I want to try that too im new to ur channel
can you make some embedded toy soaps for kids?
Hello can you add micas instead of colouring?
Yes, as long as they are designed for soap making.
Hi. What do you use to seal the bars?
I place my soaps in a plastic bag 150mm x 100mm - like this
www.signet.net.au/store/products/11285/signet-s-own-medium-duty-poly-bags-100mm-x-150mm-x-50um-1000-per-box
How do you seal your soaps?
I love your videos.
I use a 150mm x 100mm plastic bag and tie it off with a rubber band.
Thanks Dean very much.
Hello Dean!. I, m from Spain. I have a doubt: It,s better to use non- migrant color to make swirl soap or It doesn,t mind?. Thank you for yours tutorials
Not sure what you mean by "non- migrant color". For liquid dye most will bleed so its better to use mica or a pigment dye.
@@DeanWilson thank you so much!!
@Dana T - Aussie Candle supplies are best priced for MP soap bases
Here its rainy season When i make the CP soap after removing from mould, oil layer forms on top of the soap
I used fragrance oil avacado butter and argan oil each 1 %
Kindly suggest what to do
I have not used avacado butter or argan oil so I dont think I can help you. Just make sure your amounts are correct and checked with SoapCalc first.
@@DeanWilson ok fine
@@DeanWilson Thanks for the reply
OMG.... Beautiful dey r❤❤ luv luv
I know this will sound stupid but I like know how to make a really really very transparent soap with glycerin without alcohol please as my custom does not allowed alcohol...
There is no alcohol in clear base melt and pour soap.
so pretty :D
Why color changes after a few days and how to keep the color from changing
I used liquid dye and they bleed. Mica dye do not bleed.
Beautiful 🥰
I love it
How do you package your soaps?
I use a 150mm x 100mm plastic bag. Like this
www.meltandpour.net/pic.php?ID=1076
Pretty
Thanks
Is that just alcohol u spray with ?
Rubbing alcohol.
Does he put in the refrigerated when he's done
No, never.
OK Thanks
blessing in sharing
What's the shelf life of these bars
For melt and pour, about 1 year. However cold process is 3+ years.
Is soap base are natural sir
Most of them have a few chemical types in them but they are all skin safe. Otherwise I would not use them.
Why do you spray it and with what
Rubbing alchol. Check out this video
ruclips.net/video/amJ5C4aGwiM/видео.html
Do soaps need lye? Why do some use lye & others not?
For melt and pour you dont' need lye. Its a special soap base you can buy from your soap supplier. If you are making the soap from scratch like olive oil, coconut oil then your need to add lye. But do lots of research and use soapcalc to get the right amounts of lye otherwise you could burn the skin.
What r u spraying
Rubbing alcohol
Wow the is excited
❤❤❤😍😍
The swirls looks like fallopian tube
hahah.. I guess :)
