This is what I've been playing since launch and have been having a deadly good time. I lean more into DoT with necrosis, siphon, quietus, and bleed but the shield throw build is probably more powerful tbh. I hit damage cap every time I throw it and I'm not even specced for it. Good stuff Codiak
This is the first build I've been playing (currently at level 18) and having a blast with it. Generally, I have been following a similar path on the ability grid but I may reassign some of my points to match this one more. - Cheers
i was already full tilt into this build when i found this video haha. I really appreciate the recommended gear and explanations makes me feel better about the direction i am going
7:45 "anything that will enhance shield toss". Shield toss is not a "projectile ability". Its not an ability at all. "Projectile ability" will do nothing to help shield toss. Bloody Advance is the ONLY thing you will buff with this stat.
@@Mitchenzo282if your talking about the one where you can throw it up to 3 times ( shield volley)with the shield you can still do it with a heavy weapon but it's with the light attacks and not the heavy.
I kept noticing how much necrotic bonuses gear provided and tried out a build similiar to this as I love the shield toss playstyle. It feels so dirty playing this build paired with the +Crit Damage helmet as it melts everything it touches, even on highest difficulty, it's fucking disgusting lmao. 9,999 damage with every charged shield pot shot.
Field commander helm has 60sec cooldown on all abilities but you can equip belt that casts Quicken when potions used then equip rune that activates belt ability Quicken which when buffed reduces the 60sec cool down to around 30sec. So basically instead of using potions to activate Quicken you use the rune every 60sec and your abilities are around 30 to 40sec cool down now.
Norzzza made this same build “the captain America build” 8 days ago, but it’s cool to see another drop with this build as I am really enjoying the game chucking the shield everywhere lol
Been playing this since level 1 and had to turn my difficulty up after I beat two level 50 bosses at just level 30 😅 super OP. I’m using the unique that make abilities 100% critical chance
Impressive content, Legacy Gaming. Looking forward to seeing your next upload from you. I smashed that thumbs up button on your video. Keep up the fantastic work! The detailed breakdown of the Reaper Warrior build is amazing. How do you think the synergy between necrotic damage and shield toss mechanics will evolve in future updates?
Any chance you can explain why the Field-Commanders Helm is the go to helm for this build? I feel like that 60 cooldown timer for abilities to trade for Rage use is not worth it with how much rage generation you get with this build? But then I watch gameplay and notice you're still using rage for abilities? Just want to make sure that that is the best helm in slot for this build.
I'm playing the Reaper as well, but I think I might be spreading myself too thin. Only level 22 so far, but I really like Driving Kick and Grappling Spear. I paired them with Bloody Advance, giving me two Projectile and two Control abilities instead of all three being Duration. Eventually I can take the 20% bonus to Ability damage at the bottom of the skill tree, given they all deal different types of damage, but is that enough compared to a more focused build? Probably not :/
Field Commander's Helm (Magebane for Qunari) + Vivify Rune = faceroll the game for any Warrior build. As far as this combo stays as is, Warrior will remain the best class in the game. Not going to go into a long spiel as to how it works but the synergy between these two items makes it so you get six completely free casts of any of your skills to start an encounter, at which point you've built up a lot of Rage, making your Shield Toss hit for absolutely ridiculous damage. This setup can comfortably kill stuff up to 20 levels higher without issue on Nightmare difficulty.
I played reaper but focused more on flat damage. I had same helmet and used rune that gave me max rage (300). +150% flat damage from the start of most encounters
Im a little confused about gearing, helm especially. The Field Commander Helm remoes rage cost of all abilities and turns them into a 60 seconf cooldown instead, but in all your footage your abilities all clearly have a Rage cost, so you're not..using the helmet. So I guess the queston is, what ARE you using?
Asked this same question and would really like and answer too. Such a strange thing to skip over in the guide too, giving the vibe the dude wasn't the one that actually made the build.
There is 1 mistake in the video and the guide itself, and it’s a very big one. In the guide you recommend a Helmet that makes abilities cool down for 60 seconds in order to deal more damage with a shield thanks to rage. But in the video, your abilities roll back almost immediately, meaning you're not wearing that helmet? So which helmet are you actually using? In my experience, it is better to use abilities more often than to get a bonus from shield damage; enemies are destroyed better and faster by abilities
Field Commander's Helm equipped but zero explanation given (because off eccentric armorer - but it's still the worst option). Would almost be a good guide - but then you said that you cannot use shield toss with a 2h out.
Ya I'm thinking of doing a second playthrough but spell blade spoiled me. It was so nice spawning lightning everywhere and exploding enemies at the frontline as a mage. A warrior build focus on shield throw really is a hard sell to me but I'm gonna give it a try but ifk
Lucanis and Emmerich both compliment this build pretty well but its so good on its own, you can really go with whoever you like best and it will still perform excellently
Is it me or did he never touch into the armor and has a unique that uses no rage and skill cooldowns are 60 sec but later his skill comes back like 4 secs?
It would be nice to take into account any Fen'harel statues as well. Saying this is a level 40 build could mean it's available at level 30 with 10 statue skill points.
Its a level 40 requirement for both Reaper branches. But honestly, grab the crit damage boost helm, pairing it with weakpoint pot-shots while based on necrotic damage you'll be melting regardless.
I honestly thought you could actually wield a scythe and the respective armor to it but man I was disappointed Or when being a slayer wielding a two handed sword instead of shield - not really a fan of shield and sword

If you prefer fire there's a red ring that turns all status affects into fire. Had this set up but used that ring just cause fire looks cooler.

Id like to say one thing, having your two hander out does NOT make you lose your Shield Throw
Correct I'm assuming he was referring to the extra throws you can do on there return. Those don't work when you're in 2h weapon mode
@@baeverage They absolutely do work with 2 hander. Instead of heavy attacking to bounce it back you have to use light attack. Do it all the time.
@@Soulpuppet Wait a minute... you can bounce your shield back with a 2 handed light attack? How have I not attempted this!

You said to use Field Commenders Helm but you still use your skills with rage not cooldown. How it is possible?
You can shield throw while two handing. I do it all the time. You can even do the shield bounce with it. Might want to update that
