Your ship can get tired from sailing is truly a quadruple A concept.
black flag was a truly incredible game, its sad to see what ubisoft managed to do with the idea of it.
And the irony was that Skull and Bones boosted the player count of AC: Black Flag lmao.
My boys didn't even take an open note test--they RETOOK the LAST test, with a copy of it right they. And they turned an A into a goddamn D+. And that's not even the half of it, because they had a better example of Skull and Bones already out in the world right now in Sea of Thieves to riff off of or even explicitly copy, neither of which they chose to do.
It's impressive to me how much they fucked up with this one.

Renn renn-ting a pirate ship for a video on Skull & Bones easily makes it the most effort anyone has put into a video on that game (or most effort for a War Thunder ad for that matter, double record)

Ubisoft games have no soul in general, i started playing Valhalla and thought it was gonna change but at the end it was the same game repeated over and over again with little touches. It's infuriating just because how good the game looks

Honestly I would have loved an Elden Ring-style game but with pirates and pirate ships. Imagine getting hunted early game by a ghost ship, being merely at the edge of your sight at first, but slowly creeping in, getting closer and closer, while you get to know your game. Then, when you least expect, out of the menacing fog, here she comes, charging at full speed with burning sails. Or imagine a kraken hunting you from the deep, its tentacles a constant threat... So many possibilities...

A friend that work on game industry have heard the intern story of skull and bones.
The developpers teams said : Nobody work on the game, but sometimes, a team is chosen to work on it for few month... and it's like a running gag on the developper teams, on who will be the next team to redo all the game for 3 months, and abandon it again.
It's a game that investor want to see money out of it, but developper abandon it. They know the game is shit, but want to release anyway at a date it would sell the more.

I recently revised Black Flag. Got a mod that let me play with a man o war ship. Got to mission 14 where you gotta navigate a tight river channel. Got stuck half way though the trailing part of the beginning of the mission. Cant continue my favorite mission bc my ship to thicc 10/10 Masterpiece.

Which is really sad considering the depth and fun Black Flag had elsewhere. The hit button randomly to counter gameplay shouldn't make up for worse movement and side modes than Black Flag.
But for some reason if there isn't melee combat people lose interest in huge ass ships blasting each other to Davy Jone's Locker.
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 reminds me of the feeling when i went from Titanfall 2 to hawken, without the ability to leave the mechs and feel the scale of your pilot the whole scale just felt so wonky like the mechs might as well have just been people. Seems similar in this game without the sense of scale black flag provided by allowing you to jump and board giant enemy vessels then it just turns into two players slamming into eachother without much to show off the scale properly

Helldivers 2 is what happens when developers make a game that consumers enjoy, at a fair price.

The sailing is so engaging in this game, I usually just pointed my ship towards my destination and went out to the bathroom or to get something to eat.
For a game that can barely handle properly rendering shadows, I can truly say this is THE quadruple A game experience!

I can't believe he got a whole ship set and costume getup for a review of a game this bad, that can't have been cheap. Renn put more passion into this review than Ubisoft puts into their average game these days.

This did not reflect my experience at all, but maybe I'm just a sucker for Black Flag's traversal. The weather systems are largely unchanged and certain areas are really interesting to navigate. Customizing the ships is fun too, especially with the more complicated ships

Not long ago I played Age of Pirates 2 again, it's quite old and feels outdated but the emotions of being a pirate and doing pirate things felt very good, the story was quite weak but it made up for it with fluid and attractive gameplay, too There are quite a few options on how to play as a privateer or captain of a nation with its consequences and etc. It's a shame they can't recreate a game from 30 years ago.
